  1. I want to scream! I booked my clients on allegiant air to sanford airport. I didnt realize it was so far from Orlando. They dont arrive till 10:30 pm. I cant find a hotel w free shuttle. Holiday Inn only goes till 9:30. I was going to use Arts shuttle for the transfer but it's expensive from Sanford. Now they are looking at cab to a hotel, then an expensive shuttle to the port and back. Any suggestions to save money? I booked a car for the return through Avis for $44, but I have no idea if they are willing to drive. I dont know how to get them to a rental car from the hotel without another cab fare. It all sounds like a huge hassle. They did save a lot using allegiant air but now I wonder if they will regret it. I guess my question is does anyone know a hotel w free airport pickup from Sanford. (*late night) THANK YOU!

Did your clients understand all this prior to booking with allegiant? If so, the costs should have been explained upfront...cheap air is not always the best....

  2. Have any of you thought to ask your physician this question? Cruise Critic members can be experts in cruising, but from reading alot of posts, they don't seem to be experts in pharmacology, and the ones that are, nobody seems to listen too:eek: . What happens when you have a severe reaction to the drug, and your Dr. or hospital emergency department has no idea what was in the med that you took? Think your insurance company will pay the costs...doubt it!

I guess I just don't get why someone would take such a chance with their life to save a couple dollars? I worked in the pharmaceutical industry, and I would never chance a drug from another country or one not prescribed by a physician.

  3. Most also have no knowledge of the airline industry, how pricing works, what to do if there is a problem, etc. They just know they need to get to the cruise. "Leave it to someone else". And then again, there are a lot of TA's that sell, sell, sell the cruise air idea. They KNOW they don't get commission on airline tickets. But if they can book the full package, then the package is commissionable (sp?).

I know that I'm very ignorant in cruiseline/airline/TA relationships, but when we booked our flights for our upcoming cruise our TA charged us a fee for the flight ticket portion of the cruise. The tickets were issued by the airlines. I believe the fee totaled $25 dollars for the pair. Is this not an industry standard or have I had my head in the sand too long?

Sounds like your TA purchased direct through the airlines, where there is a fee that is pretty standard in the industry. If you agent purchased the cruiseline air for you, there should be no fee. (Unless you do an air deviation)
