Then the only "theme" we havent seen photos of yet is "the gateway" neighborhood that replaces the "french quarter"...
We have just seen what they are doing with the allocated space where "brass magnolia" is now located. That will now be the "golden jubilee".
We are now just waiting on what replaces the allocated space where "emerils" now has on the mardi gras.
We have seen "biscayne 820' the new theme that is replacing "LaPiazza" but it hasnt been announced yet what will be in the allocated space where the "panini deli" now resides..
Am i understanding you?
Do you know if Fortune Teller Bar is going to be on the Celebration? I cannot remember hearing about it.

I asked John Heald (I am sailing on the maiden Transatlantic) and he said Specialty dining in celebration will be bookable from July!
John has updated this information last week and announced we may be able to book at the end of this week

We are 12 days out from a 4-day Caribbean cruise on the Conquest that I booked on a whim for an excellent price ($77pp before port fees/gratuity). However, we've now decided we want to add Cheers, which I've never done.
Obviously, I could just *buy it* at the price of $518.74. And that's a possibility.
My question is, though, since I'm well past final payment (and in fact I paid in full when I booked about 10 days ago...), could I work some other magic? I expect that if I called my PVP just wanting another rate, it's not gonna fly. However, right now we have an interior room on Panorama deck. Getting a balcony on Panorama with the Cheers to You promotion would cost us an additional $662, or $144 more than just buying Cheers outright. An interior room on Panorama with Cheers to You right now would cost me an additional $494 ($24 less than just buying Cheers) but I doubt I can change rates just because I want to since I wasn't booked Early Saver. I thought maybe an upgrade would make it worth the PVP's time.
I'm also thinking about buying a gift card through AARP for this. Could my PVP take the gift card over the phone if I did that? I've never done it before, and have ready they are maybe online good online. Thanks for your thoughts!
All you can do is call your PVP and get the correct answer! I would think many of us have our own opinion but at the end of the day the only thing that matters is what Carnival will say

You are not limited to 15 drinks a day if you do not have the cheers package.
You are incorrect. Everyone has a 15 drink limit

Darn - went to book dining before the upcoming price hike for our 5/23 sailing, no dice...
Oh well - as least I was able to lock in WiFi and Cheers, so.... CHEERS !
Tom
I read that we might get lucky and be able to book them before the end of the month. I am going to keep checking for our February 2023 throughout the month and see what happens

I enjoy the drink package as it helps with that decision to get out of my comfort zone and try something new - and I'm out nothing (well, except one less drink remaining of my 15 - which I've never approached anyway)!
Tom
I agree and with all the new places to try on Mardi Gras it was a very fun week trying all the new drinks! I was lucky and liked every drink I tried!

17258,17267,17284, or 17293..it looks like they are longer and narrower with verandahs that sit out further.
Anyone have any personal experience in these suites?
From what I read the spa on the Mardi Gras is very small for the size of the ship and is a disappointment from other spas on ships in the fleet. I read someone who said they sailed in a spa cabin and would never book it again

Mardi Gras has way too many cabins that are either above or below public spaces so it would not be worth the risk to me

My PVP just told me the other day that they plan to keep vaccinations and Covid testing through 2024.
I booked a back to back for February 2023 and my long time PVP told me she has no idea what will happen with testing and Covid requirements and at this point that is a much better answer because I believe no one knows what will happen in the future

Not sure what he means by "package" pricing. havent seen any offers that include Airfare yet.
Maybe some of the other companies under the Carnival Corporation?

They just released more information about 820 Biscayne zone. As expected, it's Miami-themed. This zone doesn't really have a functional difference between Mardi Gras and Celebration, just a new design and a few new menu items at the deli and the Bar Della Rosa replacement bar. Not thrilled by a Miami theme, but I have to say it looks cool.

I'm more interesting in the new Gateway zone as that'll have another new restaurant and two more bars.
I agree! I loved Fortune Teller Bar because the area was an awesome people watching spot with live music I am really hoping the new area meets those expectations

Going on the Mardi Gras in June and they have no Blue's Tequila Bar. I loved that Blue's Patron. No idea what I'm going to do.
I thought I would miss Blue Tequila Bar but honestly with all the new bars I was able to find plenty of good tequila!

Nope! On the MG ours arrived while we were at dinner and for no reason! The Priority Diamond or Platinum tag means nothing. It is only a suggestion.
We were on the Mardi Gras last month We did not check into 1:30 PM and our luggage still showed up before sail away. I was quite happy!!

I lean the other way - no more testing but keep mandatory vaccine. I know they can't please everyone, but the stress of having a test done 3 days before cruising is getting worse. Since the cases are lower there are fewer places that have testing - Walgreens has been awesome for us, but I heard they will probably stop the testing in the next few weeks.
I know I can order the proctored self tests (I did this on my first cruise after COVID) but the drive thru free testing at Walgreens has been so much easier for us. Oh well....back to ordering I guess. I have 3 more cruises booked this year - 1 in June and 2 in November. Fingers crossed that things just keep getting better.
May I ask where you heard Walgreens is stopping testing? This is also our go to place for testing

I boarded the Mardi Gras out of Port Canaveral on Feb 26th. The lady checking me in said that she would also need to see my paperwork. She said Verifly was still in the testing stages and some of the documents that Verifly accepted weren't accurate. She checked both my Verifly information and all of my paperwork. There were two people checking everything.
I boarded Mardi Gras on February 19 and lady checking me in only looked at my app and never asked for paper copies

I thought it was bad luck renaming a ship! Carnival has two ships with the same names. I am not a fan of this

This is a big no for us! I am not interested in so many rules while on vacation! I will wait until things return to normal and if not then our cruising days will be over

I totally agree. And I fear that as this pandemic deepens, many islands will follow suit.
Pray for hot weather!
I have heard this is untrue

For the time of year that I cruise I just cannot justify paying more for the cruise out of San Juan than a 7 day out of Miami on a newer ship. I love this cruise we have done it four times but will not book it again until another ship comes to San Juan

you are projecting way too far into the future. There is no way of determining what will happen almost 6 months away. We are just in the middle of hurricane season so who knows what will happen. Like others said just relax and wait and see what happens

You either earn the perk or pay for it with FTTF! Why would Carnival give it away for free?
