We're on our first Carnival cruise in May of 2023. I received an email advertising a 15% discount on the full drink package. I went into our planner and sure enough the drink package was $51 each. This is an excellent price compared to what we're paying for a package on our Royal Caribbean TA cruise. I put the package in our shopping cart until I ask a couple of questions. My first question is, if the price goes down can you cancel this package and rebook? Are there any risks to paying for the package over a year in advance. And finally, we have had packages on Royal Caribbean and Cunard, are there many big differences?
We are booked in September, never had the drink package before trying to decide if we should get it before it goes up

So with that being said is the drink package worth it, I have never gotten the drink package before. Since it will be going up if I am going to get it, I would need to decide

The temperature can vary wildly in Alaska. When you are viewing the glaciers it's likely to be colder, but the highs can certainly reach the 80s during the summer as they are this week.
That's nice to know we're sailing August 30th, so we may have some warmth :)

No indoor pools unless you have a Haven Suite (which is a tiny pool). For $200/week, you can get a spa pass to access the hot, bubbling hydrotherapy pool.
The pools, water slides, and water feature in Spice H20 are heated. Heated meaning not freezing and not hot. The hot tubs are obviously heated.
The pools are used daily by guests. In August, we are normally in shorts and t-shirts at ports (unless you go on a shoreex to the glaciers).
Okay well, I will pack a couple of swimsuits and see what the temperature is but I heard it does not get above 60 when doing an Alaska cruise..

I will be sailing on the August 2020 Alaska sailing and I was wondering since it will be cooler on the Alaska cruise. Is there an indoor pool that I can enjoy????

I Know of at least 3 beaches on Labadee besides the Private Beach for the Suite Holders.
Out of these 3 which one is the Best.
Can you rank them: Columbus Cove, Adrellane Beach, or Nellies Beach.
Thanks for your input..

If you bring your own on Board do it have to powder or can you bring liquid. The Cold Stone Sweet Cream is only in liquid??????
What do you put it in to bring on the ship???

I was just going to ask this question because I wanted to go on the Victory but the time frame for the Sensation is more better. I know the Sensation is an older ship but how nice is it compared to the other older ships?

Not to be a kill joy, but with the way things are in Mexico right now, do really think it’s safe and recommended to travel so far and wide unsanctioned by Royal? Think about it.

I was just asking a question since I have never been, I did not say I was going to actually DIY. Thank you...

I have been to the ruins twice on Cozumel. Both times we did the same thing: rented a car and drove to the ruins ourselves. Driving around Cozumel is easy, because there is one main road that loops around the island. It cuts through the middle of the island, going by the ruins. On the other side of the island is nothing but beaches, with stands that sell tacos, drinks, and souvenirs every so many miles.
We have done it twice, and it is a lot of fun!
Driving sounds fun, How much is it for car rental?????

Normally I am all for DIY but I would advise against taking the ferry to Playa Del Carmen and booking a tour to Coba, Chichen Itza or Tulum on your own. There are large distances involved. Those sites should be booked thru the cruise line. Coba, Tulum or Chichen Itza are the sites you would want to go to.
Yeah I know. Thank you for the information and letting me know that they are a distance and may risk not getting back in time, although we are there until 7 if we leave early we should get back in time...

If you mean the San Gervasio Mayan Archaeological Site (right on Cozumel), we hired a driver (Tours Plaza) and that is one of the places we had him take us.
Ok Thank you I will keep Tours Plaza in mind...

We took the ferry across to Playa Del Carmen, then went to Tullum (twice) and Chichen Itza (once). I definitely recommend doing one of these.
Thank you taking a ferry sounds nice.. How much is the Ferry and how long do it take to get to Playa Del Carmen??

Hello, Have never been to Cozumel. Are their outside vendors for tours looking to do research on the RUINS in Cozumel, maybe for a cheaper price just wonder if anyone have used outside vendors... I'm just asking I know the risk but sometime people have done tours with outside vendors and have recommendations??????????

From the Video it sounds like Giovanni's is better. I guess I will be doing Chops and 150 Central Park....

Thank you for the translation. :D I suspect that you are correct. :halo:
??????????

In addition, no RC ship has both. They are Italian restaurants; there is one or the other.
Portofino was RC's original Italian restaurant, when they first began to have specialty restaurants on the ships, back in 1999.
Oh Ok.... Thank you....

As you can see, I borrowed these from Gambee's cruise website. These are not the most recent menus. You can see that there is no octopus. I don't recall ever seeing octopus at Giovanni's Table. But that could be my memory. ;)
GAMBEE I have not read a review from him in a while , I have to go search for his review...
-
Suspect, since it was heard on video, that OP means gnocchi.
Not sure I heard them say it several times on the Video, may not have gotten the whole name:confused:

So do I.
To answer the questions above, they are not the same. There are many kinds of Italian cuisine. Giovanni's Table is a more "traditional" pasta-based menu, with other things, of course. It is closer to what many people consider "Italian", particularly if they don't live in a large city with many options.
Jamie's Italian is an English chef's take on upscale Italian-ish cuisine, and it is much less pasta-centric.
I am basing this review on someone saying that Giovanni's Yoki is so much better and the Filet is good. The Panchatta (sp) and the Octopus. Not sure if these are served at Jamie's or NOT..????
