  1. Is there a map available for muster station locations on the Carnival vista class ships? Panorama should be same as Horizon and Vista right? Anyone know where D3 muster station is? Yes I know map is in each room. Is a map available online of muster stations for Vista class ships?

  2. I found a website called time zone converter. Mexico changes their daylight saving times on a different date then the US. Thus it is necessary to plug in the exact date your are questioning. In December when I am sailing Cabo will be one hour ahead of Los Angeles/ship time. This is important so we don't miss our self planned excursion.

  3. With less closet space and no usable desk drawers on the Vista, Horizon and Panorama  I'm looking at how to best use the open shelves near the fridge on our Havana Interior rooms on the Panorama. Those open shelves near the fridge look so useless for anything other than paperwork or towels. Would shallow baskets slide into those open shelves? Girls need places for makeup, curling irons, hair accessories, sunglasses. Carnival please put the drawers back next to the desk/vanity area! Drawers inside the closet are not practical for these items.

  4. he Sleep Inn & Suites Miami Airport offers a free airport shuttle and shuttle to the port for a small fee. The hotel rates are pretty good. They are adjacent to a 24 hour IHOP for late night arrivals.

According to Google Maps The Holiday Inn is actually next door to the IHOP. The Sleep Inn is a 5 minute walk but most reviews say this isn't the best area. :( I'll keep searching.

  5. We are arriving at our downtown Miami hotel just before midnight. Do any of the hotels have a 24 coffee shop for a late night dinner? We hope to avoid the high room service prices for our family of 4.

    ... and by "coffee shop" I don't mean a Starbucks. I mean a restaurant.

Some hotels even offer a mini store with sandwiches, wine or snacks for purchase.

  6. The Renaissance Ft Lauderdale doesn't offer transportation to the Port of Miami. Private transport is $80 each way = $160. The least expensive room today (12/11/2013) for a family of 4 is $119.

This brings the room at Renaissance plus transport to the Port of Miami to $279 before tax.

$213 at Hilton Garden Inn Ft Lauderdale includes round trip transport to Miami. The deal is on their website.

Update: Here's a twist to the story. When I reserved HGI Ft. Lauderdale I entered 2 adults and 2 children. The rate for the room was $213 including round trip transport to/from pier.

HOWEVER!!! When the confirmation came via email they UPPED the price by $72 saying they didn't include the kids even while using the existing bedding (2 doubles) I'm canceling the reservation! No HGI for families!

  8. UPDATE: our family of four is flying into FLL and cruising out of MIA. We found the following rate for 8/2014. Note - it clearly says transfers to/from POM. IF we used an outsite shuttle it's $20 per person = $160 so this $213 is clearly a better price.
