  1. We are on NCL Encore in November and will be here from 6am-1pm. A few in our party have mobility issues so I’m wondering if there are things to do right near we get off the ship.  There is always the option of a cruise excursion but if there are things to see/do without that we would prefer that.  Thanks in advance.

  2. We are on the Encore in November and considering a Vibe pass. Did some searches but didn't specifically see reviews about the space on the Encore, only saw other ships, so I'm wondering if there are places in the shade and if anyone is willing to share whether they feel the $500 for two is worth it (with the understanding that this is subjective). The person I talked with at NCL said we could get a refund if we change our minds before sailing so I'm thinking we might just purchase it and then think on it a little more.

    Thank you.

  3. This might be a dumb question but does the Free at Sea drink package include drinks like margaritas, pina coladas, etc?

I understand that that package doesn’t include bottled water and read somewhere that you can’t bring bottled water on when you board. Are you allowed to bring on bottled water if you buy some in a port?  We are planning on bringing our own water containers, will they fill these up for us if we go to a bar?

Thanks in advance for your help.

  4. Have wanted to do a Christmas Market cruise and finally booked one for 2024. Picked Viking Christmas on the Rhine from Basel to Amsterdam. Because of work the best time is leaving on November 23rd. I'm really nervous that that is too early and I'm starting to freak out a little about this. Any input on if we should try and change the dates?

  5. On the Bliss and currently have rooms next to each other,  port side, on deck 14 (with cabins above and below). Looks like there may be rooms available that connect on deck 12. If they are still available is there any advantage (other than the connecting door) by going to deck 12? Would starboard be better for Alaska if they have something there?

  6. Looking for (somewhat) last minute things to do on several islands and don't want to go with the crowed ship's excursions. In the past, we have always done the ships excursions because I'm really nervous about missing the ship but after reading the boards it seems like going out on your own is something a lot of people do.

Do a lot of you just get a taxi to go the places you want? Are there some islands that you wouldn't recommend this?

  7. We will be on Freedom in April and are thinking of going to Nelson's Dockyard to walk around but have read conflicting reports. Is it worth going to? We like history,  walking on easy trails and looking at sites - having a place for lunch too. The other question I have is getting there. We have always done the ship's excursions (I get nervous about missing the boat) but don't feel like dealing with a crowded bus and being told where to go. Is is easy to get a taxi at the pier and more importantly getting one back to the boat?

Any other suggestions on what to do are also greatly appreciated.

  8. Taking my dad and sister on their first cruise, going to Alaska in May on Bliss, and have splurged for two balcony rooms (originally had one inside room but I got claustrophobic just thinking about it and couldn't have dad's first cruise be an inside room). Wanted two rooms connecting or next door so we can keep an eye on dad. Currently in rooms next to each other on deck 13 port side towards the back but near the stairs, a plus. There are connecting rooms on deck 9 available on both sides. Price difference is less than $100. Should we stay on deck 13? Is there any advantage of one deck over another?
