Hi all! I see that the first formal night on the 7/12 sailing is on the second day of the eight day trip, 7/13. Any idea when the second formal night will be? Also, this might sound silly, but do people get more dressed up the 1st or 2nd formal night (aka - which one do they use their most fancy dress at)? :classic_wink: Thanks!

Where do you find info on meals? We sail on Aug 9, and I have been trying to find this info out.

Wow! Thanks everyone for all your comments! I didn't mean to start any debates or fights LOL. It was simply a question. I am not going to take my child in the Pools where she is not allowed, I am not trying to Jeopardize anyone else's cruise, we follow the rules, even when other people don't.  We will deal with the Splash zone as I am sure she will love it.  We are looking forward to our cruise now in 16 days. 🙂

Looks like we are going on the same cruise! And from same area 🙂

You'll catch me at the splash pad too.  I tried to convince my son all summer to potty train to go in the pool onn the big boat..but he has no interest in doing it yet..so splash pad it is while his sister enjoys the bigger pool.  My Travel agent was surprised that they did not add a kids club or babysitting service for younger ones when they redid the ship. I'm a little bummed about it too...but next time.

Sure, I carried a huge suitcase with three cases of water. Not a problem.

how muh water are you allowed to carry with you? I was going to put some in a rolling bag with beach toys and put a luggage tag to check it.

The only place at Atlantis that is adults only is the Main pool at the Cove tower.  It used to be named the Cain Pool.. I think it's Sip Sip now (not sure of the name).  The pool between the Cove tower and Reef is restricted to Cove, Reef guests.   All else is open to all.   The Cove tower is NOT adults only as some may think.

The beach loungers in front of the Cove/Reef are for Cove/Reef guests only, but the beach itself is open to all guests.

The Cove beach used to be off limits to Day Pass users, but that has since changed and anyone can use it.

    Thank you

We got the beach day pass which is about $25 more than the Digs pass.  I think the Aquaventure pass is way overpriced, considering we will spend a full day before on RC's water park on their private island.

I am hoping it's a nice beach with some fishes for snorkelling.

Yes we ended up getting the beach and dig combo day pass...had no interest in the water park. The water seems a little rougher based off of reviews...and another beach a bit calmer, but didn't get the impression they were good for snorkeling. But again based off of reading and have no actual idea lol

The DW and I will be on Coco Cay Oct 29  on the Mariner. I was trying to book up up and away, but

could not find anything on it. Am I missing something? Do we just walk up when you get off the ship?

I haven't looked into that, but they just started uploading excursions at coco cay as it got closer. I now see that excursion uploaded. Keep checking the website to see new ones added.

I've never seen the need for excursions on Coco Cay!  Too much to do there on your own, especially now!  Explore the island, it's not very big...snorkel on your own, you will not be disappointed.  Just rent the snorkel gear there.  Use Google Maps and zero in on  Little Stirrup Cay which is it's official name and you can see all the coral heads and rocks where you'll find loads of fish and other critters.  My only octopus (pink even) was at Coco Cay!  Just off the beach.

I just went there and it's an extremely old satellite photo though, doesn't show all the new construction.  But you can see the ocean structure...great for snorkeling and there are tons of YouTube vids as wells.

Thank you! I was just going to rent snorkel gear but wasn’t sure if an excursion was better to do it. Thank you for the input!

In addition to Captain Jill’s Galleon that someone mentioned above, there is Splashaway Bay, which is a larger splash pad with two dousing buckets, several spray features, and three smaller slides.  It is fresh, cool water, too.  (Not all of these pics are mine, but it will show you what’s available).

Thank you! I did see these in some videos but wasn't sure if it was included or part of the waterpark which we did not want to do

I see a number of new excursions have popped up for my first cruise next month.  I see a few snorkel excursions, swim with pigs, jet skis, and more.  Anything anyone has done and would recommend?

Would also like to mention traveling with a 2 and 6 year old. So something fun for them

Not the reply you were looking for but:

IMO 6 is a little young for open water. Especially when She is not a strong swimmer so also looking into what is best for her to float in the water.  When one wears a snorkel vest it is intended to be a safety device. If used for basic flotation, you've given up the safety factor.

If you've looked at a map of COCO CAY, there is a marked (and lifeguard covered) snorkel area ... it is a lil bit of a swim from the beach and the water is to deep for standing.  You could stay in the sand area neared the beach but minimal stuff to see .... basically sand.  Unless something has changed the 'excursion' here is just rental gear and a short 'how to' lesson and pointing you towards the marked area.

    best way to teach:

    son 8 daughter 4

Personal experience: a lil while after this picture we moved to Miami and a house with a pool and the kids became fish.  By the time daughter was 6 she was a strong swimmer and we really had no worries about her in the pool and she played with mask, snorkel and fins regularly.  She begged and begged to go snorkeling for real.  I finally broke down and took her to Key Largo and out on a boat snorkel trip.  We got in and all was well for about 5 minutes seeing some fish and general under water stuff.  AND THEN she spotted a small barracuda.  Pretty small and not that close but all she saw as TEETH.

What resulted was a fantastic imitation of a high speed power boat.  Her little legs kicked so fast she threw a rooster tail up as she then leapt out of the water as good as any dolphin jump and landed on the deck of the boat.  I could hardly keep up.

I did eventually get her back in the ocean but it took a while.  Eventually she returned, got certified, was an intern at a dive resort in Roatan, dove with a Cousteau as an escort when they were filming and still dives today.

So, this former lifeguard suggests you give it time .... not ready yet.

I wasn't planning on taking her to shallow water...but you did give valuable insight into coco cay and having to go further out to see anything...so staying close to the shore wouldn't really be "snorkeling" for her. Maybe I will try cheap gear at home in the tub or the pool to see if she is even able to keep her face down in the water for more then a couple of seconds that she is used to when swimming underwater.
