This message has not reached the UK Regent office, UK TAs or UK guests; nor has a deferment of final payment been made.

We did receive the not unexpected notification of 24th Feb that St Petersburg will be removed from the itinerary.

For our Baltic cruise departing 7th July, final payment date is still 90 days prior (as standard Regent UK Ts&Cs)

My last conversation with the Regent(UK) office regarding final payment and likely itinerary elicited the response "watch this space"

Our UKTA hasn't even advised us of the cancelled ports of call, at least Regent managed that. Suffice to say our UKTA will not be used again.

Must be a nightmare reorganising ports of call & with the potential of escalation even more so. I'm guessing they'll work their way thru the dates as best they can, but with everyone scrambling for different ports competition will be fierce, benefit of a small ship is they can get into smaller ports. We have no intention of paying final (due 26th April) until we have a revised schedule, if we loose the cruise so be it.

Have taken trains in Europe in the past and all the ones I have taken or researched allowed you to purchase tickets in advance which will protect you should the train you want be full.  Simply allow enough time should you be delayed in disembarking or turning over your luggage and head directly to the correct track once you reach the station.

You can get rail tickets on line for trains in the UK.

  3. We have also received notification of the 3 day stop over in St Petersburg cancellation (Splendor, 26th July Stockholm to London) we planned to fly to Copenhagen, dinner at some famous restaurant, train to Stockholm & pick up ship. Disappointed, yes, but completely understand. However, waiting to see which ports included but thinking that given Putins attitude, Latvia & Estonia could be pulled as well. Fortunately (or not) hotels are all on a late cancellation booking so the flight is the only thing we loose plus knowing Regent our deposit & cruise credits. Sadly they’ve not proved to be the most accommodating in the past couple of years.

  4. We were on QM2 last year for 4th July, the reception on board for the trip up to St Johns etc for the 4th July cruise was quite frankly appalling. we had sailed on her before so had an incling of the direction to follow to get to our cabin but those who had not sailed before were not greeted by anyone, there was no one at the lifts or on embarkation. We were then transatlantic following this trip, what a transformation, it was like a different ship, better service, better food, greeted when arriving on board.

Sailing again transatlantic in December, fingers crossed.
