Hi All,
Going to Grand Cayman in two weeks. I don't think we are planning to eat lunch off the boat, but we want to get off and get a Souvenir for our daughters who are 6 and 2. I have seen a lot of rum and jewelry, but what do they have close to the port for kids?
Thanks,
Krystina -
I'm very interested in hearing people's suggestions on this.
I have lost about 10 lbs in the last month and would like to continue while going on a cruise at the end of February.
I know when I went on my last cruise which was about 6 years ago, they brought bread around and you took what you wanted. So if you have the same waiter each night, I would think you could tell him you don't want bread or deserts coming to you.

Breakfast was pretty basic, and the place had a peculiar smell in the rooms and hallways. Saw shuttles packing up for the port, don't know if it costs or not. I probably wouldn't go back.
Good to know! Thank you!

I gave up on Priceline/Hotwire this trip down. Between the excess fees and the tacked on resort charge it's almost easier to book direct for the same price. I ended up booking the Holiday Inn Express in Davie for $127 plus $15 a night tax. Easy and without the risk of getting a stinker like the Link.
How did you like this hotel? This has The Waffle House next door right? Did they bring you to the port? Or did you need to get a ride? TIA

Thank you!

Thank you both!

That is a great question, I'm not sure, but I'm cruising on RC, if that helps!

What is the best place to eat and shop within walking distance from the port? I want authentic food! TIA!

Shows change very rarely, I know some that have been on the ship for over 10 years. It's expensive to change shows and they generally only change at a 5-year dry dock.
Menus have changed every few years.
Activites can change cruise to cruise.
Thank you!

How often does Royal Caribbean change their shows/activities and menus?
Thanks!

Rose, have a great cruise! Great job on losing.
Congrats to the other losers.
Welcome Karwood and TX cruise girl.
pacruise, glad you are doing better. Itching is no fun.
Hubby and I are working in the yard today, sweat equity both for the house and our weight loss! 100 degrees daily here so better do it in the morning.
Have a great day everyone.
Diana
Thank you! I've never loved yard work, but as I get older (34) I am starting to like it more, and realize I get a workout when doing it! And Sun!

Down 2 lbs! I’m so happy because I’m not sure how it happened. I really need to stick to eating healthy and moving more. That is my goal this week!

We tried to book Maya Chan and they recommended 40 Canones. We have been to both and they were both great.
That is funny they suggested to me Pez Quandro.
Never mind it is the same place lol

Best of luck!
I have been gravitationaly challenged since birth and grew up buying clothes in the "husky" section.
Currently my wife and I have been doing Keto since last November and it is going fine. We've each lost 30 plus pounds, but are not trying super hard at. No hurry, just trying to find our rhythm and stick with it for the long haul.Thank you, I'm not sure I could ever do that!

I'll 2nd the massages on the beach @ Costa Maya. Approx $60 an hour and was one of the best my wife and I have ever had, in fact we typically compare any new massages to them.
There is so much to do in Cozumel We'll have to go there at least 20 more times to do it all. We loved Xplor park in 2014 so much (all day zip lines, cave swimming, and dun buggy riding plus great food) that we are doing it again in November. It was a tough choice to repeat an excursion with so many other great things to try.
I'm just seeing this! I will have to take a look, it sounds amazing!

Welcome - So at 50 lbs you need to lose around 7lbs a month. Have you done any weightloss in the past that was good or bad? Some more information about you and your lifestyle would help a lot.
Hey! You are right it would lol.
I am the type of person that I will go on a diet for a month or two and then I will get off of it. I know what I need to eat and do to workout, I just lose motivation easily. So this time I really need to stick with it. I am starting to use My Fitness Pal today and starting to workout. My plan is to walk two miles at lunch every day and work out for 30 minutes at night. I work at a job where I sit all day.

There are wonderful things to do in each of those ports.
Most, if not all, of them can be found in the Ports of Call forum.

Thank you for this! I’ll have to comb through it!

Maya Chan is out, the whole place is reserved the day I’m going. What are your other favorites that are like Maya Chan in Costa Maya? I’m also looking for a Jeep excursion in grad cayman or Cozumel? My husband doesn’t like the trikes.

I have not yet been, but am spending next Friday at Maya Chan in Costa Maya after getting multiple recommendations here and reading reviews on Trip Advisor.
$59/pp for transportation, food and drinks. Everyone gets their own reserved space and capacity is limited to something like 80 people. Owners have been fantastic about communication. I have a general rule about not doing non-cruise excursions (even if it means paying more) after almost getting left behind years ago. But after thorough research, I am definitely comfortable making this exception.
This place does look fantastic! I am definitely going to try to get my husband to go!

We got a late check in time on Adventure of the Seas, will they let us check in earlier?
