  1. Ok for all those considering going on this cruise, my TA spoke with HAL this morning and they advised him the cruise has not been cancelled. They contacted him weeks ago stating it was cancelled. So, I contacted him yesterday after checking on refund of prepaid items being refunded. In checking with HAL, they advised me the cruise was not cancelled.

Crazy, a couple of weeks ago they advised him it was cancelled. Looks like that was an error. Waiting to research and book tours until at least June.

  2. @ Floridastorm keep us posted. TA sent me an email today stating my September cruise is cancelled and HAL advised him of the amount of my FCC. I still would be happy to go if it is still scheduled. I just spoke with my TA earlier this week and he still had not heard anything about cancellation. I doubt he would be mistaken... but all with all this, anyone could make a mistake.

  3. @Floridastorm  Thanks for reaching out to HAL. It is good to hear the cruise is still available.

@kazu  Very likely itinerary changes if the cruise goes. We could sale from Seattle. However if we are skipping Alaska, not sure of the other option of ports to change the itinerary. Maybe HAL will shorten the cruise or add an additional port in Japan. Also, not an option of sailing from San Fran as it has closed for 2020. Have you booked? We might still be there with you on the cruise. I am being optomistic. 😁

    Ditto!

In any case I would think the Transpacific portion is now cancelled based on HAL’s announcement:

It certainly sounds like there are no cruises from Canadian ports.

Thank you for the update. HAL announcement does not mention anything regarding cancellation of transpacific or Asia cruises. The cruise is still available to book today on HAL website.

Guess we will see what happens. I am booked and will  post an update if I receive a cancellation notification.

Good to know.  I will not be choosing G4087 because I would imagine that staff are party goers. By the way did a chat with HAL and as of now none of the ships that go west out of the west coast and Canada  will be cruising in 2020. Actually 4087 is an ocean view as it looks out between two lifeboats.

Per HAL call my TA had a few days ago, cruise from Vancouver to Japan has not been cancelled. If HAL is still selling this cruise it would be highly unlikely that it is cancelled yet.

We booked a few months ago and I am still keeping my fingers crossed,

  6. We have used the digital option. Yes the facial recognition is not perfect. We did get a few wrong pics. However, I much prefer it over searching the walls for photos. We have spent hours, literally, looking for photos and not found them on the wall.

More curious if anyone has heard if Carnival will be upgrading Miracle to digital when it goes to dry dock in March 2020. Has anyone heard?
