  1. Thanks All. Traveling on the Conquest next week. I will get the Value plan and communicate with students that I have bare bones email.

I was on Conquest for the 6/25 sailing - purchased premium 2 of our 5 days. Very, very slow the first day I purchased and completely useless the second - none of my work emails would download to my iPhone. Wish I had gone to customer service for a refund on 2nd day - completely not worth the $25 charge. I was better off connecting to cellular networks and free WiFi while in port. Others have commented WiFi on Conquest is as bad as dial up and I agree.

  2. Anyone know who’s on the Magic? We board her in 4 days and we love hanging out at the Alchemy bar on our cruises. Our past favorites are Vera, Ionna, Latoya, and Tatianna!

Vera is on the Conquest as of the 6/25 sailing. We loved her!

  3. The name on your booking should match your travel documentation.

    From Carnival’s FAQs:

    Names on Travel Documentation

It is important that the guest's full name on the cruise and airline tickets be the same as the guest's non-expired government-issued photo I.D. they plan to use for travel identification. In the event of a different name on the cruise/airline ticket and the guest's photo I.D. as a result of a marriage, divorce or a legal name change, documentation (original or clear, legible copy) supporting this change is required (at embarkation), such as a marriage certificate, marriage license or legal name change court document. Failure to bring documentation bridging the name differences could result in denial of boarding.

  4. We upgraded our Aurea drink package so we could get minibar drinks too. You can ask you cabin steward to fill with your preference. A nice bonus is snacks in the minibar were free too - peanuts, pringles, etc. Not sure if they were supposed to be free too or if we got lucky.

  5. Just off the 3/24 sailing - I purchased a package based on MB for $30 which did the trick for some work I had to do on the day at sea. I think I got 1000MB - we did have the free surfer package so the $30 charge was after we ran out of the free MB included in our free package.

  6. Not too much noise near the top, we were on 14 thought when they have the White party outside it is somewhat loud for an hour or two.

All the balconies are the same size, we had a sun lounger on ours as well as the three chairs and table/footstool.

No sun lounger on our balcony - feel a bit like we missed out!

  7. So our experience thus far - no smoke issues, great space, certainly some movement felt at back of the ship and we can hear the party-going’s at night. Easily goes into the 2-3 am time frame. Despite that we still are enjoying the cabin.

  8. Yes the pools are all 5-6 feet deep so not child friendly (or adult friendly for my non-swimming husband). I don’t think goggles or a dive stick would be a problem.

  9. Thanks for that. I have done a screenshot of your photo and will forward to my TA for her to have a go!

I had my TA upgrade our package last week with no problems for our sailing on Seaside 3/24. $56 pp as mentioned before.

  10. Once you get to D there's a discount and also there's some pre-cruise discounts, but people generally buy it because they did the math and they think the cost of the package is worth it for their drinking pattern vs. buying individual drinks.

How much is the beverage package discount for Diamond? How do you get the discount - is it preloaded on the sea pass card like all the other 'deals'?

  11. Hi, we are thinking of cursing Empress over Christmas. My Mother-in-law will be with us and she requires a rollator to get around. Has anyone been in the Junior Suites on Empress with a walker or rollator, and were there any issues with getting around the foot of the bed. Accessibility has emailed the ship to have that area measured for me, but they have not heard back from the ship.

    Thanks,

    Marybeth

Perhaps an accessible JS could be an option for the mobility concerns for your MIL.
