  1. Anyone know if there will be a new virgin promotion for august? I’m booked on a med cruise at the end of august and considering making it a b2b. Was hoping for a new promotion when the July one expired…nothing yet.

  2. I got off the Valiant Lady last weekend and they were out of most of their inexpensive wines. Some bars I would go to would offer me their least expensive bottle of wine for $50. Loved the cruise, but was pretty annoyed at the wine situation. The few times I did comment on it the bartenders would offer to give me the glass or bottle at a lower price…but I didn’t feel like asking every time I went to the bar. And the bartenders said it had been like that for weeks. Hopefully they restocked for the transatlantic.

  3. I'm considering booking the Valiant Lady transatlantic Barcelona - Miami this October but need internet speeds fast enough for me to take zoom calls and do some other work. I was on the Scarlet Lady over Christmas and didn't have to do much work but was able to take the calls I needed. Have people been able to successfully work remotely from the ship and I'm specifically interested in how the internet has been for anyone who has done Virgin transatlantic (I assume there has only been 1 transatlantic cruise for the Scarlet Lady - but were there even passengers onboard?)

  4. "all inclusive" is misleading...it doesn't even include unlimited bottles of water. seriously? I don't get that alcohol is unlimited and water isn't.

The package seems worth it only if you're in the haven or a very expensive cabin and the 10% amounts to a significant savings. We're booked in the haven on the Escape inaugural transatlantic where the 10% amounts to $900...we'll see what the cost is for this package on that cruise.

Does anyone know how this will be priced for cruises over 7 days?

  5. In the end I bet this is more about safety than passenger comfort. As a previous poster said it caused a fire on a cruise ship before. I just got off the Getaway last Saturday and witnessed someone on a balcony below me throwing cigs off their balcony multiple times. Sad but true and ruins it for the rest of us. I'm a smoker and enjoy a cigarette on my balcony but would never ever throw one off the balcony.

We're booked on the Star Panama Canal for our honeymoon in January and are on the fence about whether to cancel due to the new rule. Before the change we had decided on the cruise but we'll have to re-evaluate now. Our other option is a private island resort in Vietnam where we've been before...and smoking is definitely welcome there.

  6. I know I can't be the first one to ask this question but I've searched far and wide on here and can't find an answer. I'm looking to book an aft balcony (B1) on the sky and want to know which deck has the largest balcony. Or are they all the same? I read about the noise issues on deck 10 but other than that not much information on the best deck to choose. Thanks in advance!

  7. As you can see on my profile I've cruised all major cruise lines other than RCL. I'm at the point now where I'm addicted to the Haven suites NCL offers and no other cruise lines can compare to. It's good in that I know what I like but also limits my options. Are others in the same boat? Am I crazy thinking NCL is way cooler than other lines because you can get an exclusive suite experience but also party with 4k people when you so choose?

I was first in the 'haven' when it was called the courtyard villa in 2006 and have been addicted every since. No other lines compare to the service you get.

  8. Thanks for the input. I'm definitely a foodie and for us portion sizes aren't an issue...I love to taste but not stuff myself and also love seafood. Sounds like even with that we should stick to our normal favorites like Le Bistro. Any other input is welcome! Really I'd like someone to convince me that it's worth the money because I love trying new things.

  9. As others have posted ncl is offering a discount at ocean blue if booked in advance ($37 vs $50 pp). We're cruising on the getaway in a few weeks and trying to decide if its worth it. We're planning to primarily dine in the haven restaurant and do le bistro and cagneys once. Thoughts on ocean blue vs haven and the other specialty restaurants all of which are cheaper?

  10. Why do people get annoyed when others are late and it doesn't affect you? The ship will still make it back on time. I had a horrible experience when the bus broke down on a shore excursion and we arrived back on the ship an hour after the ship was supposed to depart. People were booing us from their balconies and making rude comments having no idea that we spent 2 hours on the side of the road and then on a bus with no ac trying to make it back. It was a ship sponsored excursion which is why the boat waited.

  11. I've sailed on many mainstream lines and also love to splurge on premium vacations. I am now partial to NCL for cruising because they have the best of both worlds. It's a very relaxed unpretentious atmosphere with lot's going on and if you want 5 star book a room in the Haven. You get amazing service, butler, private pool/sun deck area, etc without the pretentiousness..and when you are ready to party head to the main decks. :) I've cruised NCL both in the Haven and regular cabin and loved them all.

  12. I just booked the Getaway in July in cabin 15100. I'm trying to figure out how it compares to other H5 cabins. On the deck plan 15100 looks bigger than all other H5's on decks 15 and 16 other than the handicapped H5 cabin. The deck plan makes 15100 look wider (it also looks wider on the Breakaway deck plan). Does anyone know if it actually is wider which would also mean it should have a larger balcony also?

  13. Haha thanks for all of the information! It sounds like they do still send out priority luggage tags in the mail I just have to be patient. I only booked a week ago so I'm not surprised I haven't received them yet. It's just weird the ones online don't say priority.

  14. I just checked in for my July cruise on the Getaway and my luggage tags just say 'Teal'. I'm in a Haven suite and when I sailed in the Haven previously on the Epic, Pearl, and Jewel my luggage tags said 'VIP' or 'Priority' or something like that and were mailed. Is NCL no longer doing that? No priority status for my luggage? :( haha

  15. Hey Kaki sounds like we will be neighbors I'm also booked on the Miracle May 7th sailing in 6256. It will be my first cruise but from my experience in the Navy the aft generally has less motion because the center of gravity is towards the back of the ship.
