Just wondered if there is anyone who has successfully managed to change from Main Seating to My Time Dining and how you did this?  We intend to go to the MTD Restaurant once onboard and plead if necessary.  On our last Cruise, several people were not permitted to change to MTD though.😣

When we booked we had to be waitlisted for my time. After 5 weeks we had the my time. But now the bf wants to go back to the 530 seating and is gonna ask when we get on. I dont really care which we have

  3. If they enjoy animals iyoumight do the pigs. I want to do that one myself but my bf doesnt want to lol

Theres also dolphin encounters or swim with them as excursions.

Ive done a stingray type excursion before and it was really cool.

You can youtube some of the excursions and see what they are like. We youtubed our upcoming ports and figured out plans based on stuff we saw.

I'm a big fan of Oasis ships, but kids can be kids, so we try and sail dates that historically dont have quite so many.  But that is getting harder to do lately.

    Elevator issues are way overblown

Lol my bf and i are leaving ours at home and were hoping theres not a ton, but if there is, i at least, can tune them out. Also theres the solarium though i see sometimes kids arent kicked out of there.

Our next cruise though we are taking the 3 youngest. Idk if my oldest will join us, but hes an adult now.

Earlier i was wondering if thered be a lot of kids the second week in nov and remembered how many families i know who homeschool and can take vacation any time.

So, why don’t you get a sitter or take the kids with you and go out to a nice restaurant and dress up.

We frequently go to the nice and higher scale places where we live. My bf doesnt care a lot for formal events and since we live an hour apart we dont always have the chance to find someone we trust for the little kiddos. Im also not taking the littlest ones to a fancy event.

We do dress nice going out, and i wear skirts often. I am just excited for formal wear on the cruise.

I personally dont care if anyone else dresses formally but i do enjoy seeing other dresses on people. But if everyones in shorts and t shirts, its not gonna ruin my time and enjoyment of dressing up and looking different then in normal everyday wear.

Its just something im super excited to do! Im also really excited for my bf reaction lol its just added fun for me on our vacation.

As a first time cruiser, just so you are aware, while it varies by cruise line most staterooms are not available until 1:00 PM or later.  Most of the dining venues that serve lunch on the first day typically open around 11:00 AM.  The bars that are open will also be open around 11:00 AM, which is the typical first boarding time.

You should go to the cruise line boards on CC for more information regarding your cruise line and ship, as well as join the Roll Call thread for your cruise to talk with others who will be on your cruise.  You can also talk with your travel agent (if you used one) and go to the cruise line website to gain more information from those sources as well regarding your cruise.

    Enjoy your first cruise!

Ive already done that. Getting excited for our meet and mingle. I also joined our roll call on fb and added my bf to that group.

And thank you! Im ready and excited. Ty for the advice!

What reason is there on the ship? Because the cruise line randomly declared it formal night? You can randomly declare it formal night at home and dress up.

People who are dressed up tend to take more photos. See how that works for the ship photographers.

Because its fun and yes bc they have those kind of dinners where dressing up is ok.

Were going to have our pics done too.

Were also celebrating a couple things together and the pics ill have for a long time as well as the memories. This will probably be the only time my bf will ever see me glammed up unfortunately. So were looking forward to it and were excited.

P&O (UK) still have two formal nights per 7 day cruise. Heck, they even manage one formal night on a two day taster cruise. And by formal they mean jacket and tie, none of this country club casual nonsense! No tie, no mdr!

So all of you who love formal nights, you know where to come!

Thats awesome! Ill have to check out the rates and if we could swing it. I was disappointed when they said only dress your best. Im still glamming up for it though lol

    Why not?

Our home times our dates include our kids and we just dont really go out for parties that ppl usually dress up in formal stuff for. Idk.

My bf eye sight is fading and it started going fast this last year. Im not sure he can really even see well what im wearing and he still dresses nice, its just never real dressy.

Hes excited for formal night. Hes never seen me in a gown dress and im so excited for it!
