Just off the Pearl at the beginning of Oct and the smoking areas have changed a bit from the “Unofficial NCL Designated Smoking Areas by Ship” list.  Promenade level 7 is on the starboard side towards the back (outside of the entrance to Bliss nightclub) and only has one small wall ashtray.  Didn’t go forward on promenade to see if smoking was allowed there. Pool deck 12 is port side forward with an uncovered area next to the bar and another area under the bar cover where you can sit at tables and smoke. The cigar club always had cigarette smokers in there without any problems.

Thank you for the recent info about The Pearl. I honestly do not want to smoke indoors, especially around cigarette smokers(which might keep me out of the cigar lounge if they all congregate in there). Indoor smoking tends to make one rather stinky. We have a very large garage where we live and have cigarette smoking friends that come over and party with us. After an evening of only 3 or 4 smokers in that HUGE garage I really stink. All clothes and hair(shower)have to be washed. I think I will be spending more time on level 12 than I thought. Lol.

  2. Hi. I will be cruising on the Pearl for Christmas and New Years and was wondering if you are allowed to bring your own scooters on board. I have limited mobility due to Multiple Sclerosis. My scooter isn’t very big but it sure helps with my fatigue for walking long distances and it also helps my left knee which is very weak and over extends causing pain if I am standing or walking too much. Thanks in advance.

  3. I am so glad I found this topic. Thanks to all who are contributing with information!

My husband and I will be cruising on the Pearl in late December. I don’t smoke much at all but when I drink alcohol I just have to smoke a bit more than normal. This may sound strange but I also cannot stand a lot of regular cigarette smoke. Especially in indoor areas with a lot of regular cigarette smokers. What I mean by ‘regular’ is because what I smoke are little cigars. They are cigarette tobacco with cigar paper. I swear the rancid stink of cigarette smoke comes from the paper they are wrapped in. My little cigars don’t leave the same reek that a Marlboro, etc. leaves. I myself cannot stand them even though I smoke little cigars. Because of this, if what I am reading is true(about cigarette smokers in the Cigar lounge), I don’t think I want to be in the Cigar lounge either. Lol. I will probably go in there to smoke anyways. Then when we go to our cabin later, I will shower and put my clothes in a sealable bag. I never realized how bad regular cigarettes stink until I stopped smoking them. No matter, I am sure I will meet some great people in the smoking areas. I am going to have fun and not be a smoking snob. Lol.

  4. Also, I don’t smoke if I am not drinking alcohol but when I do drink, I am going to need a place to light up once in awhile. I don’t smoke regular cigarettes(cause they really stink to me) but I smoke vanilla flavored little cigars(cigarette tobacco in Cigar paper). I assume I can smoke those in the Cigar lounge?
