  1. As samcraig said ,we stopped at canervual at 6am and were under way shortly after . At 9 they made an announcement telling us what transpired with the evacuation, no word about arrival time for Baltimore. They are doing a debarkation meeting at 11:30 so I guess we will find out then.   Thanks to all who posted, current speed 19 knots heading for Baltimore  in the waters off Florida

  2. Not attempting to misleasd, fastest speed we have seen is right now at 4.3 was closer to 3 previously. Crushing speed previously was 14 to 17, while "Dead in the water" is not exactly correct ,  the lights are on and the party continues we are not going to make Baltimore for our scheduled disembark and no new info has been provided

  3. Last update I am aware of @ 7:30 said they anticipated repair complete in 2hrs.  We have not heard anything since, Guest service desk just told me no change of status since last report. Navigation screen shows us close to Florida at 4.3 kilometers hr.  Houston I think we are going to Florida. Bad part of that is I cannot fly home as I just had eye surgery.

  4. We are currently on the legand, we left Freeport around 1:30 for Baltimore. The captain mada an announcement about 2 hours later and said they had a propulsion problem and would keep us updated.  2 hours later he announced about another 2 hours and we should be under way, sorry for the delay.   The navigation screen says we are moving 3 to 4 knots and heading for Florida. No further announcement made. This ever happen to anyone?

  5. How is the parking at Baltimore Port?

    Cruise Maryland (gov) states

"We make it easy for you: no advanced reservations are required to park in our secured, long-term lots which are located within walking distance"

Has anyone used this service, We are sailing on the Legand 2/18/24 and I am worried about the lot being full and having to find somewhere else to park.

What are the options if we dont get in?

Just want to make sure we have a spot when we arrive

    Thanks   Kevin

  6. My Wife did it in February on the Bliss, I was attempting to video it from the deck but the sun made it difficult to see what I was capturing.  I just started the video going and thought I saw her drop out of sight so I turned to watch the view port about 1/2 way thru.

I was still taping when she walked up behind me and  and said " I got stuck"   She made it about 10 feet into the uphill section then stopped and slid backward. I guess they expect this to happen as there was a hatch right where she stopped, they opened it and removed her.

I told her I did not think I got a good video because of the sun glare but we got a laugh.  Later in the cabin I looked at the video and saw her go by the clear section just before the up hill. Seconds later, here she comes

    again moving backwards.

A great trip, we got back Mar 1st, 1 week before the pandemic shut NY Cruising down

  7. Looks like you had a great time, we were on GSC the same day.  We just went for the beach, got some sun and a dip in the clear but cold water, grabbed some lunch and sunned some more.

A great day, feeling sorry for all who have now had their cruises canceled, this was our honeymoon (13 years delayed) and even though we live in NY about 1 hr from the terminal the other arrangements we had to make started long before the departure date.

Glad we did it when we did, been talking about it for years !!

    We left the Bahamas yesterday.

Good to hear, enjoy the rest of your cruise. I hope all goes smoothly in NYC, the Mayor and Gov have some conflicting ideas about this crisis and combined they could really screw things up

  9. Have you left the Bahamas ?

this line in the NCL cancellation of all cruses scares me

"Guests on voyages that are underway will conclude and guests will be disembarked as soon as possible and assisted with travel arrangements"

I sure hope they are not leaving you in the Bahamas

  10. This line scares me

"Guests on voyages that are underway will conclude and guests will be disembarked as soon as possible and assisted with travel arrangements"

What does this mean,  the Bliss was docked in the Bahamas when this announcement was made. Are they disembarking guests in the Bahamas or they going to return to NYC ?

I would hate to be left in the Bahamas relying on NCL to assist with travel arrangements

  11. Glad you enjoyed your cruise, we were on the Bliss 2/23 to 3/1 and had a great time also, the ship and crew are first class. Except for the 3 yr old in the cabin above us who ran back and forth from 7 to 9 am and the painfully slow or non existent internet we have no complaints.

Our sliding door did creak a little in rough seas but my Wife always packs her Sleep machine white noise maker so it did not bother us

  12. Wife and I were on the Bliss the same time as the Sistas,  we were not in Haven but had a great time.  As was said, the internet was bad (unlimited plan) but we got by Lol    Everywhere we ate or drank was great, saw Jersey boys again, had seen it the first time in NY and did not expect to much. I was wrong, it was as good as the show we saw in NY.

Weather was not to bad for a end of Feb, got to see relatives in Port Canerival, GSC was great. I said the last time I cruised that I would not get off the ship in the Bahamas, my wife wanted to so we did. I still have the same opinion.

Other than the bad internet and a 3 year old with heavy feet at 7 am  in the cabin above us it was a great voyage. We did not want to get off the Ship and go home LOL

  13. My Wife and I were on the Bliss feb23 to mar1. At La Cucina the server told us we did not order enough when we wanted to share an appetizer.  The 1 order of Calamari was plenty for both of us.  We ate at   La Cucina twice as we could not  not get into Cagneys or Ocean blue. We tried to book both about 2 months in advance and both were full, we also tried again our first day on board with no luck. We had plenty of other choices on board and left every meal full

No big loss, we had steak in port canerval and lobster at home last night Lol.

I am looking to use my carriers (AT&T) wifi calling capabilities, not an app, do I need unlimited or the premium to do this?

Forget it, the latency is way to long to conduct any kind of real time voice conversation if you connect at all.  When Facebook pages take 1 to 2 min to load there is no chance of WiFi calling working

At 3 am you may be able to connect but the latency will still effect call quality badly

Hello I have seen many commenting on the internet. Was this the upgraded wifi? Curious if it is worth getting for our cruise or if it is pretty slow period.

We had the upgraded/unlimited and it was bad, so bad it was almost unusable at most times.  If you got up at 3 am it worked fairly well but by 7 am it was back to sloooo loading or timeout for the rest of the day.

I would have to assume that the time you are waiting for a page to load counts toward your minutes on the standard plan making it even more useless as you would be out of minutes in the second day

Thank you for saying that. I’m going on my 1st ever cruise on the Bliss in 2 weeks and these negative reviews have been worrisome. I’m going with an open mind and my mantra will be, “I’m not going to let it ruin my vacation” as a glorious poster recently said on this forum.

    Zoey

Just go and enjoy, we did

We are from New York and the crowds and small waiting times do not bother us, We did not feel either was excessive.

It's been more than a few years since my last cruse and this was my wife's first cruse, had a blast.

We both felt that the crew went out of their way and worked very hard to make the passengers happy, other posters have to keep in mind that this was an end of Feb to beginning of Mar cruse, we were not expecting the tropics either leaving or returning to NY. I had asked my Car Service when I booked with them if they had a 4 wheel drive vehicle available in the event the weather was bad, they did but we did not need it Lol

On the return trip from Nassau to NY my wife (brave soul) did go on both water slides and enjoyed both, I got some nice video. There were people by the pool the entire time from Port Canaveral to Nassau  and part way back to NY

Just go and have fun !!!   it was great for us and I hope it will be for you also

PS: if you have not made reservations for any to the specialty restaurants try to do them on line now, if you find they have no availability, go to their front desks as soon as you get on the ship as I am told they do hold some space that they only release on ship. We never did get into Cagneys but had some great steaks with my sister in law during the Fla lay over.

  17. Wow, I cannot believe we were on the same Ship at the same time.  Only thing I agree with you on is Nassau, the weather turned bad early afternoon. We did not have any kids in our party so I cannot say anything about the kids venues.

Only complaint I have is the Internet congestion, I was expecting some lag but not 60 second (or not at all) page loads. Everything else on the ship was great, the crew very accommodating. the buffet was a little crowded but they always had plenty to eat and it was good and we always found a table but we were a party of 2

My wife and I are still walking around saying " Best Week Ever"

  18. I cannot believe sharing works at all, we just returned on the Bilss Mar 1st and had the premium package.   The internet was so painfully slow that it was almost unusable.  We tried it on 3 different devices as well as multiple locations on the ship.

The signal strength was good everywhere but it performed like 4000 user were sharing a dial up modem,  The App worked great and at full speed but the Internet was a big fail for us.

  19. I spent many hours researching cabin locations to ensure a midship cabin with on public spaces above or below, I would not bid and loose my ship location preference. I would have too assume (I know that's bad) that all cabins left this late in the selection process are in less desirable locations as all the choice cabins have been booked by people who researched as I did
