  1. Thanks for the report. You had just the info we were looking for on Guernsey. We are both bikers as well and were wondering how long (miles) the ride was and what kind of bikes were provided. We have been on some very good bike rides, and some terrible rides - my pedal actually fell off once, and the DW had a flat. They didn't carry any tools to fix or repair the bikes.

  2. Hello All,

I will soon be departing on the Celebrity Equinox (Aqua Class Cabin) in early September. When reviewing the cabin pictures, I was wondering where we will be storing our luggage in our stateroom.

My wife and I are planning on 1 checked bag and 1 carry on suitcase each = 4 total.

    1) Do we need to place a luggage tag on our carry-on luggage? I'm assuming not, but just want to be sure.guy

    2) Is there sufficient storage in an AQ cabin for 4 suitcases? Any tips for storing our baggage to maximize space?

    3) For a 13 night cruise, how many additional hangers for the wife's dresses and my shirts/pants should I plan on bringing? Does the AQ cabins provide additional hangers?

Thanks for the help, cheers :)

Put the smaller ones inside the bigger one. Put both under the bed.

  3. So from reading all this I should pack my scrapbooking scissors in my carry on to avoid my checked bag being sent to the naughty room. That way if the scanner picks them up I can show them they are just scissors straight away. They are sharp, but only for cutting paper!!!

If you pack them in your carry-on, how do you get through airport security?

  4. It's like everything else. I get by with extension cords and power strips. 4 bottles of champagne once...others have items confiscated. Who knows what the trigger is to pull or pass luggage with contraband in it.

we've read both sides of the story on power strips. Not sure how to handle itvthis time with so many different views on rule changes. Would most likely have it in our carry-on along with all our various chargers (phone, kindle, camera).

  5. Excursions do sell out because many, if not all, are limited to the amount of participants. Can you imagine being a part of a wine tasting tour with 300 of your fellow pax?

Been there, done that. There was a coupon in the cruise book on a recent RCCL cruise. The tasting was held in the MDR. There were at least 300 there.

  6. The bus will usually drop you of Ardross Street outside the Northern meeting park.

Your family will have no problem meeting you as it's only a few minutes from the town centre.

Thanks. That was the info we needed. We're not too interested in the sights around town. We can plan on metting in the center of town. Inverness is our last stop on a VERY busy cruise. Just kicking back with family will be all we need. We were not able to make it over there when she got married three years ago, and we've only seen pictures of their (18 month) daughter.

  7. The floatplane is awesome and the views are stunning. A ten year old would love it. Also a helicopter ride to the top of a glacier. Once there, you can walk around with the ski poles while wearing boots with metal traction on the soles. Spectacular! He would have some amazing tales to tell his friends upon his return.

Floatplane and helicopter have our vote too. Did both and loved it. The floatplane also included a salmon BBQ.

  8. We are considering an Emerald river cruise for next year. There are a few reviews posted--some good and some not so good. Has anyone else had any good (or bad) experiences with them. I know they are relatively new to the market, so the reviews are limited.

    Any comments would be appreciated.

    Thanks!!

What cruise are you looking at? We booked Rhine in September through Mayflower Tours with a group. Like you, I have not found a lot of info on Emerald. Still searching.

  9. We are on the July 14 cruise. Looks like we have around 100 people signed up for the Connections Party. We are thinking that we may have a large group for the Sail-Away party. I'm working with Celebrity to make the arrangements and will post on our roll call when that plans are made.

    Cheers!

we are on the August sailing. We have a large group as well. We even have our own web page that lists private tours some people are coordinating and a list of CC members, dining optiins and cabin categories.

  10. Nervous-Nellie,

Check our roll call. We don't have a sign up for the Sail-Away, but there is a sign up for the Connections Party. Once we secure a place for the Sail -Away party, I will post it on our roll call.

    Cheers!

when do you sail. We are also on a Brit Isle cruise.

  11. It's definitely a Mac/Apple/browser issue. I booked my cruise over the internet using my Mac and Chrome, but when I was trying to do the online check-in it wouldn't work. I called Celebrity and they said it doesn't work on a Mac, and only works with Internet Explorer. (Chrome, Firefox and Safari will NOT work.) So we had to use my husbands PC and it worked just fine.

Definitely a pain! Fortunately for us, one of us uses a PC. But what about those that don't?

Don't agree with your Firefox comment. We Firefox and had no issues booking all our shore excursions today for our cruise in August.
