Booking a gty cabin is always a gamble. I only book it if it will save me significantly.  Never book a gty in a category lower than you can stand.  Don’t book a 2D if you know that you will not be happy.  I have booked gty many times on Celebrity.  I have had a variety of experiences.  Just because you were assigned a cabin, don’t assume it will be set. On one cruise I was assigned and reassigned 3 times before embarkation.  Nothing is set until you board.  At embarkation, you may get a change.  Relax and just let it play out.

I've sailed Equinox, it was great.  I think you will find that the Solstice Class of ships are more alike than different. Choose for length of sail and itinerary...costs etc...you cannot go wrong.  I did like that the Equinox did not lose any of the Sky Lounge on the shortened dry dock.  It's a great space with spectacular views

I think I remember the silhouette did not get to finish her upgrades. They had to move out of dry dock early for an RCL ship that was damaged by a dock.  Hope the Sky bar remains untouched tho. My fav place.

  3. We have been on Edge twice about 6 weeks apart. Once in a sky suite and once in a balcony.  I would have canceled the 2nd one after the first but had made final payment already.  That being said we did not love the Edge.  Seemed so much smaller inside than Reflection and other S Class.  Too small in the center.  Putting Martini bar in center seems misplaced. Never enough seats or bartenders. Too bad dancing was added as an afterthought after complaints. Missed the Sky Bar and other areas to dance or talk.  Music was not great.  We are in the group that did not care for Eden. It was too wierd. Big waste of space for us.  Silent Disco was in there.

Biggest complaint the chairs on balconies. Where are the lounge chairs? Footstools? Sit up chair is too short to be comfortable.

Food was ok.  Butler was not around much. Cabin steward we had was awesome. Suite pool area was nice but everyone else loses a place to be on deck up front.  I find that unacceptable.

It was new and shiny and I like modern.  All the fleet needs a remodel, but making them all look like the Edge is a mistake for many of us who like choices. My husband calls it a McEdge line after all are made to look the same.

They want 30-40 group.  Very few children on either of our cruises. We are 50s and cruise a lot.  We are going to take one more on an unremodeled ship.

Fine cut was great once. Terrible the second and we got the same exact meal. Luminae was good.

They did not keep smoking to one side.  If you wanted to be on back of ship and do not smoke you could not stay long.

Too windy to use dining on top deck.

    Hope that helps some.
