I received my luggage tags today, but I'm in a guy cabin. When I get my cabin assignment can I just fill in the cabin # myself or will they send me new tags with the cabin number printed on them.

My wife stayed there for business a couple of months ago. Nice place. Clean rooms. She especially liked the sky deck. She had a room that faced the inside air shaft, so no views of Seattle street life.
Belltown is basically a residential (apartments, condos) neighborhood with street level small businesses. It is one of the nicer parts of Seattle, right now.
It could be considered walk able down to the Bell Street pedestrian bridge, which connects with the building at Pier 66, but that is 4 blocks before you even get to the bridge. It is mostly downhill. If your luggage is on wheels and you don't mind carrying that distance, you will probably be just fine. But the Uber ride to the pier will be very short if you choose that option.
The biscuit place on the ground floor of the hotel is good. Breakfast and early lunch service. Orders only online and only for takeout, so again, great choice for a pre-cruise breakfast. It has a colorful name.
I hope you enjoy Seattle when you are there.
Thank you for the info. I got a little nervous reading the reviews. The hotel got great reviews but there were a lot of references to a large homeless population in the area. I decided to cancel and booked the Marriott. Its suppose to be right across the street from the terminal. A little pricy, but we are older and it seems its worth the extra $ for the convenience.

I also booked the Belltown Inn.It was the cheapest, but still looked walkable to pier 66. Has anyone stayed here or know anything about the area?

Thank you. I called Holland America and the person I spoke to was a little unsure of her answer, and by the time I hung up I was totally confused, which doesn't take much. I may wait until I'm closer to sailing, and try calling again.

Hi I am on the VOV 2023 cruse. We are in Ireland in 3 different ports. Does anyone know if I can get off in Cork (1st stop) and stay overnight and rejoin the ship in Dublin the 2nd. stop. It also goes to Belfast but I believe I can't rejoin there because its owned by England? Thanks for any input.

I was suppose to be on the Pearl on the 27th and tested positive for covid on the 18th. Still positive on the 26th . Cancelled cruise and was told to send an e mail to guest relations. I received an e mail back and said I would hear by 30days. Just got an e mail this morning and was told if I have insurance, which I do, to put the claim in there first and if its refused send the refusal letter with other information noted on the bottom of the email to them. I would assume if insurance is denied then and only then will NCL issue a credit. It is for anyone traveling in the same cabin. I already rebooked this cruise and I am now leaving Friday. Hopefully the insurance will approve. I would prefer money back than a credit that has to be used a year from the claim. Good luck!

At this point, later is probably better. Week of cruise, you may be assigned a cabin someone vacated due to an upgrade. An assignment today may be a room that nobody else wanted [for a reason - e.g., a room under the gym where you would enjoy the pounding of people running on treadmills starting at 6 am every morning, or a room over a noisy bar].

You can be assigned a cabin anytime from shortly after you have booked up until the day of your sailing.

I just tried to do this . I was booked on the VOV 2021 and that was cancelled so I rebooked to the VOV 2022. I am getting a little concerned about covid so I called to rebook it to the VOV 2023. They told me it would be $3500 price increase. After the shock I said go ahead and do it, but then my travel agent said Holland was not budging on the $1500. cancellation fee. I was surprised at this since I thought since it was a rebooking of a cancelled cruise I would have no problem. I even called Holland America customer service and got nowhere. I may try again before final payment depending on the covid situation. If anyone has any luck I would love to know who you talked to.

Hi having traveled with toddlers before ( I've taken the train to Orlando with 3 little ones) driving is usually my first choice, as I don't fly. I'm also from the Boston area. The drive to the NY terminal is not bad. I hop onto the Merritt PKWY and follow pretty much a straight run to the terminal . Not sure if driving is an option for you, but the cost of the train ticket and then a taxi over to the terminal is probably just about the same a parking at the terminal on the roof. $40.00 a day. seems high but well worth the ease. Also when yo get off the ship upstairs to your car and home in about 41/2 hrs. So much easier in my option then trying to get back to Penn station after the cruise. You can check the forums here as there are several on driving to NY and different routes. Have fun.

how many people are going to Disney? Did you consider getting a room near Disney to save time driving back and forth. There are plenty of hotels near Disney under $100( some even with free breakfast). I'm on that same cruise and have already booked a room at universal for the night. I really excited about staying overnight in Orlando and being able to spend more than 7 hrs at the parks. If you do want to drive back to the ship there looks like there are plenty of parking options if you google parking at Port Canaveral. Enjoy your vacation!

I'm leaving out of New York in December on the Gem. I read that the Bliss will also be docked at the same time. They also said the Bliss will probably be docked at pier 88 for parking and the Gem will be moved to pier 90 I think. Does anyone know if there is a different entrance to the roof parking if we are on Pier 90. I have always been on pier 88. Will this make a big difference, or is it basically all the same. Thanks for any help.

Got my room assignment today. Sailing 12-13. Did a sail away inside. Got an inside in the 10th floor, which is great. I really just didn't want to be on the 4th or 5th floor. So it worked out well. Love that this cruise does an overnight in Orlando.

Maybe after final payment they wait to see what changes need to be after the bidding process. My final payment is not until December. We booked a "sailaway" cabin with NO PERKS. A guarantee is different because they have perks.
ok I guess I will just have to be patient. I did book the sailaway. I do not have any perks. I figure its winter time so I don't need a balcony or even a window. The ship has a stopover in Orlando overnight so I booked a room at Universal so trying to save money.LOL! Universal stop costing almost as much a the cruise, which is crazy.

We booked inside sailaway for a cruise in April, 2020. Took 4 weeks but was assigned a IA cabin, deck 12 midship. Hoping to be able to bid on a balcony when the time comes. We did this on our last cruise and was successful.
I booked an inside sailaway for December, 2019. I've already paid in full , but no cabin assignment yet. You seem to have gotten an assignment pretty quick. Is that how it usually works? Never did a guarantee.

OMG I love this thread! I'm sitting here laughing just imaging myself getting in and out of this. I have a hard time getting off the ski chair lift without falling, so this should be interesting! We are going to Bermuda in October and I've been looking at renting one of these. We use to rent the mopeds, but we are getting older and there is so much more traffic than there was 25yrs ago when we first started going to Bermuda every few years. This looks like a good alternative as long as I don't break anything! I'll keep an eye on here and check this out as more people share their experiences. Thanks in advance for all the good info.

Hi Great information on this board. This will be my first time cruising on Holland America. I just got my boarding passes and it gives a time to board at 1pm. Does anyone now how strick this is. If I get to the terminal at noon will I be able to board once I check in or will I have to wait until 1pm. Thank you.
-
Thank you for the quick reply. Thats great. Not that I'm in a hurry to get off the ship, but I do love the early walk off so that's good to hear Holland also has it.

Hi great post with lots of good info. I'm cruising on the Veendam in June to Bermuda. First time on Holland America, been to Bermuda too many time to count. LOL I could have missed this but can anyone tell me if Holland has a walk off with your own luggage on disembarkment day, or do we need to wait for our color to be called, and pick our luggage up in the terminal. Thank You.
