I will never pre book dinners again! We booked our four Pinnacle Grill dinners, four Sel de Mer, four Tamarind, and four Canaletto. We were travelling with our daughter and her husband, and wanted to sample all the dining options.
The day after boarding, I went to the front desk to confirm the reservations. The day after each reservation, I went to the front desk about the bill. My husband and I are five star mariners, and so our dinners were complimentary. It was truly a frustrating experience. We had paid in American dollars and I wanted to be sure everything was correct and we wouldn’t be paying extra. I spent more time with the Front Office and still don’t feel satisfied with the outcome. As the previous poster said, $7.50, $12.50 etc were appearing in the columns, but never the full amount per person.
The excuses were always the managers, the night auditor etc.
From now on, we’ll take our chances with reservations once we are onboard. It was not worth the frustration!

They changed their policy on seasick meds in October. It was a shock to pay for three pkgs. when you could just go to the front desk and they would give you some with a smile.

Not everyone in line for the Naughty Room is doing something illegal!
We were in a Neptune Suite. my luggage had not arrived before boat drill. The Concierge had asked the cabin steward to track it down. He came to our cabin and escorted me down. The issue was that I had to ID my bag as the tag had been torn off😱

It is interesting that a letter from his office had so many typos such as two or three words running together without any spacing!
We all recognize "form letters". While it is appropriate that they respond, it is disappointing the letter is almost patronizing.
Thank you Bill and Mary Ann for all your blogs, photos, and comments. The are truly appreciated.

Last year,I noticed that if you arrive in a wheelchair, one of the HALAssistants would show you to a different line.
However, this is another year, first cruise, and so routines might change.
Once you are through Customs, there is a separate line, and you would board first.
Hope this is helpful for you and your
Mom.

Thanks for gaining the correct nautical term, "boxing the compass."

Sometimes they do a complete circle to "recalibrate"[correct term?] the compass.

Yes, be very careful and negotiate your return to the pier gate! Several people on our trip a few years ago were dropped off one block from the pier, and robbed of cameras, cash etc. Once in Lima, it is lovely. The fact that the taxis are sent off by a dispatcher may make the trip safer.

At one time, on HAL, they had a ceremony where you would throw the leis in the aft pool. Big mess to clean up though. The first time we went to Hawaii and docked at the Aloha Tower, we were met by the fire boats. On several other trips, they did not give out leis, but last year they did. It doesn't appear to be consistent, but so nice they opened the bow area this time for you.

About my post on dining, just to be clear, only the
Pinnacle Grill dinners were complimentary, but by prebooking, we were charged the full price. That was the issue.:(. However, there is always a problem at the Front Office with having the charges for the PG removed.
