  1. I did this in February of this year.  It is called a side to side as KYBOB stated.  Here is my experience, and know that Princess was well aware of our upcoming plans.

We were given a Covid test the afternoon or morning prior to disembarking the Regal Princess.  If we didn't pass they would come and get us.  They didn't, so we knew we had passed.  That evening we had instructions about the process the next day and were given a printed confirmation of the test results that evening.  .  We were to disembark late in the disembark process and tell the person arranging the transportation that we were going to board the Sky Princess and needed to be bussed over.  They put us on the next bus - which was also the last bus and took us over to the garage for Berth 4 and we almost got left there but I made sure to tell the man that we were suppose to go to the bag drop off for berth 2.  I know he had been told by the dispatcher but obviously forgot.  He did take us over and we dropped our bags and then got in line to board the Sky.  Regal was at birth 19 and Sky was at berth 2.

The most likely scenario for you on side-to-side day will be Enchanted at berth 2 and Sky somewhere else like 19 or 29 so you will need to either take the bus or grab a cab.  Ask at guest services if the bus will take you.  They may not.  I honestly think if I had to do it over again, I would opt for a cab.

    I hope this helps.

  2. From personal experience in February with a rollator (walker on wheels with a seat) you need to know how far you are from the nearest elevator.  The rollator when unfolded is the same size as a wheelchair.  I need it for stability on the moving ship. Our cabin was a forward facing deluxe balcony, front of ship.  The problem I noticed when going from our room to the elevator was getting around all the carts that the cabin stewards use.  For me, I just folded the rollator up a bit and then pushed it through, but in a wheel chair you would need to have your dad get up and walk past the cart, fold the chair, move it past the cart, then unfold it again.  If you are close by it won't be much of a problem but if you have more hallway to traverse, it could be.  You could also look for the cabin steward to move the cart for you.  Also, I think filling out the mobility form helps the dining room know you will need a table your dad can get to

  3. In early February we got off the Regal Princess at birth 21 and took a shuttle to pier 2 to board the Sky Princess.  The shuttle went first to the berth 4 garage and dropped people off who were just picking up their cars then took us to pier 2 luggage drop off to board the Sky.  We had to be a bit assertive to get assigned to a shuttle, they were very busy.

Thanks to all who have answered. This still someone hazy to my wife, who has been on the Princess website repeatedly the past two days. Again - thanks for your attempts to help

I'm not sure this is allowed but I watch a couple of vloggers who can sometimes be helpful.  Tonight I watched a vlog posted today by Don's Family Vacations where he explained how the Princess policies applied to the Love Boat Cruise he is going on in February.  It might help your wife to understand how to find Information on the Cruise With Confidence policy.  I do understand how confusing it can be.  Hope this helps.

  5. I had both mine and my husband set to use my credit card and it was accepted a little over a month ago.  Yesterday I tempted fate and looked at it again and now he is not authorized to use my card for some reason and I couldn't find how to add him but I did notice we were both still green lane.  I'm just going to wait for the next update and if I still can't fix it, we will do so on board.  I'm not going to authorize onshore, I don't think I want any more Columbian Emeralds. 🙂

Our very first cruise was on the Cunard Countess in 1980 and one of our ports was St. Thomas...I imagine our ship looked like the baby bear one in the back but that was the size of ships then, I guess!

My first cruise was on Cunard Countess in 1980 or maybe 1979.  I had a wonderful time.  We were parked in front of the Island Princess and that night after dinner we went over and were allowed to board the Island Princess to take a peek.  I was saddened when I couldn't find Julie, Isaac, Gopher, and Doc.

Love a sale. I bought two so I could coordinate the color with outfits. If anyone is interested, shipping is a reasonable $3.95. Thanks for the tip on the sale!

Thanks chamima, I bought 2 as well.  Sadly I had to leave 2 behind that I really liked.

  8. I have a B2B2B on the Sky in February, they did show as one cruise with the correct starting and ending date but I just added another cruse on the Regal that ends the day I will hopefully embark the Sky and now that shows as the first cruise of a B2B2B2B and I haven't been able to veryify the end date yet.   I will be switching ships on Feb 5.  I just checked I do have the correct ending date.  I feel confidant that

I may have a long phone call with Princess yet again.

  9. I'm not sure if this will help you, but I had to change my password the other day because I had a percent sign in it.  Had been that way for a while.  When I logged in they treated me like a new account, not someone who has extensively cruised with Princess.  I had to set up my account again.  As soon as I did, voila, all my information was there.  Maybe try resetting your password.

Thanks. Just sent her an email with all the details.

follow up with a call tomorrow.  If the number Ombud had isn't the right number just call customer relations and ask for her.

    You definitely deserve better.

@auburn77if you want a better email / phone number / contact person then I suggest Kimberly Baldwin at kbaldwin@princesscruises.com (i think here phone number is 1-661-753-0000x44411 but I'm not positive .... I've got so many #s now). She rapidly responded to all my emails. She's a customer service supervisor under csteinke@princesscruises.com (top dog)

I concur with contacting Kimberly if you can.  I had excellent results with her.  But I actually emailed csteinke@princesscruises.com first.  The customer service people were all abuzz because I contacted a director directly.  Excellent service after that.  But maybe try Kimberly first.

  12. Cruisemapper isn't the only site showing multiple bookings at Princess Cays, Cruisetimetables does as well. I think I would ask Princess for clarification regarding this.  It  is especially important because Liberty is due to arrive at 8am and Sky is due to arrive at 9am. Won't be much left after Liberty lets all it's passengers off first.

I do agree that this isn't likely to happen, it can get crowded enough with one of the big Princess ships in port.

Today's Detroit Free Press had an interesting article about Whittier, AK, where Princess cruises begin/end.  Quite interesting!    Go to www.freep.com, click on E-edition, then go to p 2 of the front section.

Sadly you have to be enrolled in the e-edition to look at it.  And more sadly I get the e-edition of the Detroit news.   One of these days I am going to switch.

I have been to Whittier a number of times on turn-a-rounds.  I enjoy it a lot.  We have done the glacier tour a few times from there and also like just watching the goings on from our balcony on a lazy afternoon.  Our last trip we were upgraded to a handicap balcony cabin last minute.  We sat on our balcony watching a sea otter straight down in the water, an eagle in a tree across the way and even were privileged to see him poop.  It was really funny.  And all the trains coming and going.  A great afternoon.

And we are hopefully heading back in May next year.

I have my eye on that March 17th sailing too...just can't justify the cost at this moment, but that's not to say it's a no! LOL

That would be so cool and yes it is expensive but I don't care.  Steve said to do it.  I counted last night, if memory serves me right I have 9 cruises and 111 days currently booked.

Would you bring the kids if you book?

It might be time to take this off line and not highjack the thread.

What did you end up booking? We snagged the roundtrip Vancouver-Hawaii in October....would be great to sail with you again!

It would be great to sail with you again but ....  I snagged the March 17, 2023 Hawaii,Samoa, Tahiti cruise.  I had it booked once way back in 2011 with a bunch of friends some of whom you know - Andi and maybe a few others- but I just couldn't do it, mostly because I was going solo and I really didn't want to leave Steve and Yoyo that long.  It is a bucket list for me so we are booked.  We are booked on a lot of stuff.  We are getting old and needing to take care of that bucket list.

But good news, maybe.  We are booked on Sapphire Princess May 2022 to Alaska and back from Vancouver and if the border is open it will hopefully go.  I will no doubt want to stay at Pan Pacific for at least a night so there may be an opportunity to have some fun that night.  I've been thinking about it.
