  1. Sorry to hear about your MIL. Hope things work out.

In Dec. 2013, at the 46 day mark I realized we weren't going to be able to make our cruise. We didn't have insurance. At the time, they said the penalty was like $1350 which would leave us with a $50 credit. I cancelled anyway because we had no choice. About a month ago I called to find out if I still had a small credit that I could apply to our next cruise. I was told that I had an $1100 credit. I was only charged $250 cancellation fee from our previous booking. I know what Carnival's cancellation policy is and they were very generous to us.

  2. Oh......the one real negative I had an issue with was elevators.........they are so slow as to almost be worthless........they also don't always have lights telling you what floor they are on, and many of them don't ding or give an announcement when the doors open.

The elevators were the same when we were on this ship when it was the Destiny. We found ourselves using the stairs often.

  3. How do you prepay this? I'd like to do it. My step father and step mom are also traveling with us, in different cabins and I don't want him to pay my bill. haha I know he will try.

You can add it if you book through Carnival's website. There's a box under the section for dining options. You can also call your PVP or TA and have them add it.

  4. No, I didn't receive one of those free cruises Carnival is handing out.

In May 2012 I booked a cruise for Feb 2, 2013 on the Breeze and paid my $1500 deposit. I also purchased our airfare for the cruise. I didn't get insurance because, up to that point, we had never missed a vacation. When we say we're going, we go. Well, last year things got very tight for us financially. When final payment time came, we didn't have any way of paying it. I had to call Carnival and cancel our cruise. I asked if there was anything they would do for us, but they said I would lose my deposit. After the penalties had been assessed, we had $150 to use towards a future cruise.

Now, I know it was my fault for not being able to make the cruise and not purchasing trip insurance. However, this left a slightly bad taste in my mouth. It wasn't enough to turn my back on Carnival, though. I knew that I would sale them again because they provide good value.

The time has come for us to book our next cruise. I called Carnival to verify that I had a $150 credit towards a future cruise. I was on the phone with them for 37 minutes while they tried to find where my credit had gone. The Carnival rep finally came back and said we had been given an $1100 credit towards a future cruise.

Carnival, while I may try other cruise lines just to see what they're like, you have a cruise customer for life. Thank you!! My family and I will thoroughly enjoy our next cruise!
