    How strict is Carnival with boarding times out of Tampa?

    I'm not sure how long it takes to recuperate from that but if he is not able to walk well, you should probably contact special needs department.

     

    My friend had a stroke and I should have done that because it was very difficult for her. Also during muster, there will be a special place for your son to go rather than with everyone else.

     

    Call and arrange it before you go.

    The check-in time is NOT the same as the boarding time. If the ship begins boarding at 11:30, and you have a check-in time of 1:30, you'll be able to board right after you check in at 1:30. However, if you arrive at the terminal earlier than your check-in time, even if the ship has already begun boarding, you will not be allowed to enter the terminal until your check-in time, unless you have Priority status, such as Platinum, Diamond or FTTF. The staggered check-in times were implemented to reduce crowding in the terminal. Unfortunately CPAYNE, if your flight arrives at 8:00 a.m., and you can't get a check-in time earlier than 2;00 p.m., and you don't have FTTF, you'll have to find something to do to kill about 5 1/2 - 6 hours.

     

    I should have worded by question differently. I am aware that boarding and check-in times are completely different. I was basically trying to figure out if we would be allowed to enter the terminal building prior to our scheduled time of 2:00pm. From what everyone is saying it’s probably not likely. I wasn't sure how much the check-in times were enforced. We went ahead and purchased the FTTF for both cabins and at the suggestion of another poster I will also contact the special needs department. Thank you all for the suggestions and clarification. :)

    We are sailing on Carnival Paradise April 5th and it completely slipped my mind to do online check in early. When I remembered to do it the available boarding times were all after 2pm. Our flight arrives into Tampa at 8am so we will be at the port extra early but will we honestly have to wait until 2pm to get into the building? I would completely do FTTF but we have two cabins and its only a 4 day (1 port) cruise. We are literally 6 days away from Platinum:rolleyes:! Not to mention my son is having knee surgery 2 weeks prior and might still be on crutches. I am so frustrated....I do not know what to do!:(

    they are both outside the main gate. When you exit the pier through the Dufry shop, you should see a sign pointing toward the taxi stand, about 100 feet or so away. Head toward the taxi stand, then straight to the road, turn left. You'll see the gate. I'm calling it a total of 500 meters from the pier, maybe less. And you can cut across the parking lot and grass if you want.

    Anyone used Beulah Mills with Welcome Tours?

    I used Beulah January 2014 for the ATV excursion with Beach transportation. The ATV tour was great BUT the transportation part not so good. We had to wait 45 minutes after the ATVs were done for Spectrums van to bring us back to the port and when we got there Beulah and our van where no where to be found.

     

    I was not told by Beulah that the transportation would not be from the ATVs to the Beach but from the port to the beach. Either way, she wasn't there. Never contacted me not even after the cruise for an I'm sorry. Part of our group decided to stay at the ship since we wasted so much time waiting.

     

    I know others have had a good experience with her but for me, I wouldn't recommend her.

     

    Thank you for sharing your experience! I think I may keep looking for another tour company.

    Isn't Spring Break over by now? I guess what I didn't like was that the staff was taking pictures & did nothing about it.. Nothing I'm interested in taking my kids to.. :(

     

    The sad thing was these ladies were not the "typical college aged spring breakers" you would expect to see acting this way. I would say about half of them were in their early twenties but I heard at least 2 of the ladies say they were in their forties! I was shocked! I guess we just picked a bad time to cruise!

    WARNING FOR FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN VISITING MR SANCHOS

     

    My family visited Mr Sanchos last Tuesday while in Cozumel. My daughter is 13 and my son is 10. We arrived at Mr Sanchos around noon, the waves were a bit rough so we decided to stay near the pool. When we arrived I noticed a group of ladies in the pool and they were a bit loud and dancing around...no big deal. As the day went on these ladies were getting louder and a bit more crazy ( again no biggie) but their language got a little bit out of hand (again no biggie just told the kids to ignore it). I was not too concerned until three of the women felt that it was ok to flash their breasts at everyone in the pool....including my children. I told the kids to just ignore them and face the other direction. I mentioned to the ladies that there were kids in the pool but they were too drunk to care and continued their drunken love feast on each other. At that point a couple of the ladies then thought it would be a great idea to stand around the pool and dance as if they were stripers! It was then I noticed the staff members laughing and taking pictures of these woman. In fact one of the pictures in on the Mr Sanchos facebook page! After their little dance they got back into the pool and decided to "breastfeed" off of one another (trying not to be too graphic here). Basically bare breasted body shots without the liquor! When all of this went down their male friends/husbands decided to join in on the fun and hoot and holler about it as well. So of course my kids are looking around to see what all of the fuss is about and seen most of it. There were staff members around watching this the whole time and no one said a word to them. At that point we gathered our things and headed back into town. My children saw more boobs and nipples that day then they had all of their lives! Not to mention the other acts they witnessed. I am in no way a prude, I was upset that my children had to see that. If it were just myself and hubby that day I would have just laughed it off but I do not want another family with children to have to explain that type of bahavior to their kids. I seen several other acts and overheard a lot more that I can't even mention due to the content.

     

    On a side note the food was good and the drinks were great! I hate that all of this happened but I feel like the staff could have asked the ladies to keep their breast in their bathing suits and their hands above the water!

    It's OK to book these rooms....

    Carnival Valor Room 1331...Nice midship location--Oceanview

    Carnival Valor Room 1102--Great QUIET Balcony Room on the Spa Deck...FOrward on ship, but had no issues with motion..Love this room..Few other rooms on the Spa Deck

     

     

    How was the balcony? Did it feel private to you? We just booked this cabin on the Liberty and I was concerned that it open to the decks above.
