  1. It's been a few years since we've cruised and are booked on an upcoming 5 night to Bermuda and I was wondering if anyone could provide information about which night is the "formal night" are there any theme nights? (If so, what are they)

In the dining room are nice dressy short and polos ok for my teenage boys, or does everyone wear pants/ suits?

Any copies of the itineraries or advice on fun things to do are much appreciated, Thanks!

  2. I'm sure it's disappointing that your friend can't come with you, but it still sounds like you're in for a fun vacation.  Since your family will be there, you will have a familiar table of people to dine with in the MDR, and people to go to the shows with.  having the whole cabin to yourself is kind of a treat! You can go to bed when you want, sleep in as late as you want, and no waiting on a shower or the bathroom!!  Check the Fun Times for daily bingo, trivia or other social events you might be interested in, if there's nothing you want to do or your family has other plans, you can always find a quiet spot to curl up with a glass of wine and a good book.  Have fun, and enjoy your extra privacy.

  3. Love this!!  Thanks so much for taking the time to share.  I love it, especially the food pictures, it helps to see what dishes look like before I order.  There have been so many times we've cruised that I've ordered something I thought would be good, then it comes out and doesn't look like what I expected.  And other times I wouldn't consider a dish and someone at my table orders it and it looks sooooo good.  We will be on the Sunshine in April and this thread makes me so excited!!

  4. We will be on Sunshine in two months.  I know I read on here that they have the Mongolian wok for lunch, as well as the make your own pasta.  I know my kids would love these options and they will be super crowded later in the cruise.  I'm hoping they are an option for embarkation lunch the first day.  Can someone tell me if they are open the first day and where they are located?  Thanks!!

  5. We have been on 10+ cruises on various lines (Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Disney) and I can honestly say, we've never had a bad cabin.  I love quiet, and dark, and usually I'm fine with inside cabins.  We have kids so we always get two cabins.  As they've gotten older we get balcony just for the extra space.  I have always checked deck plans before booking.  This year things have been hectic and we had limited time to do Spring Break Cruise because my sons girlfriend's prom was the week of our spring break (different schools, different spring breaks).  So I quickly snapped up the only two side by side balcony cabins left on Sunshine.

After the fact, I realized we are on deck 6, right above the Alchemy Bar!  Ugh!!!  Can someone tell me if I'm going to regret this???  I don't want to be up all night.  Did I mention I like quiet???  First time ever that I'm worried

  6. My kids hated the "kids clubs"  when they were younger.  But when they graduated to the teen clubs they would definitely go there the first night or two and make friends.  Since they could come and go as they pleased, they didn't stay at the teen clubs, they would go hang out around the ship at the pools or sports court or go get late night food.  My two oldest are super social and outgoing and always have a pack of friends by the end of a cruise.  They love cruising, they loving making new friends from all over the country!

  7. I worried about finding a reputable company, but I figured if we booked through the cruise line it would be ok.  I figure they vet all the companies they use.  I'm still on the fence.  Hopefully someone who has done it will comment.

  8. We are a family of 5 looking to book a Parasailing excursion (through the cruise line).  From what I've read the go up tandem, two at a time.  Would that mean our fifth family member would go up with a stranger, or have to go alone?  Would they let one of us go a second time?

Also, what about weather?  If its rainy that day and wouldn't be enjoyable to be out on the water, will they cancel the excursion and give us a refund?

  9. Quick question.  We have a stop at Half Moon Cay, I love the private islands to take a beach day. I like to rent floats and just relax on the beach.  I cant remember if Half moon Cay rents floats/rafts?  Anyone know??
