Has anyone recently done the power snorkelling excursion through Carnival Cruise lines in Amber Cove? My husband and I will be going in February and have been reading reviews about the other snorkel excursions in Grand Turk that mention large crowds, being rushed, and the marine life not being what they hoped it would. We wondered if anyone had a positive experience with this one? We would love something fun like this to do and Amber Cove seems like a nice spot to do it. We love to snorkel so any advice would be much appreciated! The excursion takes us to Sosua beach to go out on a boat to a few reefs to snorkel. We would like to know what the marine life is like there.

My husband and I will be going to Grand Turk and Amber Cove on the Carnival Magic in February. We heard the snorkelling was only okay in Grand Turk and that the excursions can be very crowded and rushed. We saw better reviews for the power snorkelling excursion and wondered if anyone had a positive experience there with it? We saw it is also offered in Amber Cove and wondered if we should try there, as some said it has better snorkelling and smaller groups. Any advice and experience reviews for either would be appreciated!!

There are lots of spots along the beach to lounge and have a beach day. They also have volleyball courts, chess, etc. and covered areas for eating lunch - Royal brings a BBQ lunch right off the ship for you. There is also a tram that runs back and forth along the walking trails that you can hop on and off to get from one end to the other without having to walk the full distance! Beware the people in orange shirts that say they are conducting surveys - there is a hidden market behind the market building they lure you into where the locals are very pushy and force you to buy things!

My husband and I drove to Cape Liberty and ended up staying at the Hilton Garden Inn on Staten Island. They have a cruise and stay package that allows you to leave your car at the hotel during the cruise as long as you stay one night and they have a shuttle that will take you to and from the port. We had a great experience with them and found it to be a very affordable option. Shuttle was maybe a 20 minute drive to the port.

We were reading reviews about snorkelling in Grand Turk that mentioned the excursions being crowded, rushed, and that the marine life was nothing special and some mentioned liking Amber Cove better. My husband is especially interested in the power snorkelling excursion (we both love to snorkel but have tried nothing like this). Is this an excursion anyone could recommend or provide more information on? Was the marine life nice there?
