    Not exactly sure as I haven’t been on the ship yet but I think I’ve read elsewhere, when researching the cabin, that it is a closet for the cabin steward’s supplies and also that there may be an internal staircase as well for crew use.     We have it for a 28 day out of LA in November 2022 to the South Pacific and back.  I had been checking several times a day for an aft, then at 7 months before departure, it looks like someone cancelled.  I was dumbfounded when, on that day, I was actually seeing an aft balcony available, particularly that one.  So excited and love all the feedback and photos.  Your pictures and feedback on amount of sun would be appreciated.  We like the sun but will be in the South Pacific where the heat will be good enough, I think, and we can always go up on deck if we want more sun.

Thanks for the excellent photos Jerseyguys and billet!  We are taking a 28 day out of LA in November (hopefully) and we’re so glad Google finally found this thread!  It was recommended as one of the better balconies on the Aloha and we were glad it was free when we booked this cruise 10 mos before sail date.

I am unable to book excursions online, which I find odd.  The excursions are loaded, and as soon as I paid my deposit, I got a confirmation email with a link to book excursions but, when I select ANY excursion and the time and our names, then press enter to reserve, I get an error message “guest error” and cannot add it to my cart!!  See error message in photo attached.  The two Princess reps I E spoken to says it’s just too early to book but I feel they are just not getting that if the blue button is there to say book me, it should book you; otherwise there just isn’t a button to book that shows up.  I say BS because I’ve booked excursions much earlier on other Princess bookings and it looks like all is there, except for this “guest error”, which looks like there is something wrong with my booking.

     

    HAS ANYONE SUCCESSFULLY BEEN ABLE TO BOOK and add to your cart and pay for AN EXCURSION ON THIS CRUISE YET:  Royal Princess, Sept 24, 2022 Vancouver to Auckland (or any leg of it).   Or have you tried to book but are getting the same error when you go to add any excursion to your cart, please let me know.  Either way, please let me know so I know whether or not I should hound Princess.  I don’t want to wait until it’s too late and miss something I really want to do if, in fact, it is a glitch.

    FYI, they did release a new version of the app on 9/22/21.  I was having problems with ordering medallion gear.  I had to uninstall my current app and install the new version.  Everything was still on file for my upcoming cruise, medallion order went through fine.....  I agree with previous post, you are not charged until they ship the order.  Make sure you were charged before spending a lot time on it!!!

My medallion app is showing both my cancelled cruise and my newly scheduled cruise; however when I go onto my cancelled cruise and go to the medallion wear section, where I had ordered my medallions and paid for bracelets, when you click on it you just get a blank white screen rather than the order that you had put in, which is now not needed because that cruise has been canceled. Getting very frustrated with answers coming from Princess.  I was able to access the excursions for my cancelled cruise and select cancel and got my refunds processed in good time, I don’t know why the medallion wear section is different, but it is. Looks like they have disabled that link so that one is prevented from ordering new medallion wear, but that doesn’t help people cancel orders that were already placed. Anyone have any success getting a refund for their medallion wear on a cancel the cruise?
