So I shouldn’t waste my time calling then? My TA is just telling me they’re telling the agency 90 days, don’t think she ever called them directly just for me.

You can have a try, but prepare for waiting. At least, they can confirm that you case is under processing, and you will get the refund but it’s just a matter of time if that helps.

Next time I will ask my TA if I should let my CC company to involve.

If you booked through TA & you call will RCL give you updates on refund processing? I was under the impression if you booked with a TA RCL would not give any info?

They did talk to me, but didn’t release any useful info. Last time when I contacted them via TA, they gave me&TA more detailed update, like I was in Phase 2, although I haven’t got my refund yet.

I wish I had an answer for this too. My March 29 cruise cancelled March 13. Still no money or word. My T A keeps getting the standard 30 day reply.

Mine is March 29 cruise too. Cancelled right away when I got the email. Only got $750 deposit back last week. No further update. Called RCL last weekend, being told the rest is still in processing. No timeline can be provided. I booked via TA as well.

Does anyone have Resolutions or a supervisor email address... they only processed a partial refund for me... and now I’ve been on hold for 3 hours trying to get to resolutions..  they acknowledge they owe me 2900.. but don’t know why i didn’t get the whole refund the same day

I only got a partial refund ($750) for my March cruise so far. The amount is the deposit I paid initially. Is your partial refund also the deposit amount or just some random numbers?

I got some refund amounts today on my credit card but not the full amount yet. I think I read they can come in chunks, but for those who have already gotten their refunds, how many days apart were the refund chunks spaced out when they appeared on your credit card?

I got the first partial refund (roughly 1/5) this morning for March 29 cruise. Not the full amount yet. Same question here - how many days apart were the refund chunks appear on the cc?

So, despite receiving an email from RCI stating I’d receive my refund or an update by May 6th I received neither. I called customer service this morning, and was told that she could see my refund was “in the final phase of processing “, whatever that means. I reminded her that it’s been 6 weeks since the refund request was made and acknowledged by RCI. I also asked for a specific date, because the “final phase of processing “ did not give me much information. I was told I could expect a full refund next Monday. I’m not sure if that was a random date to get me off the phone, or if I will actually see something next Monday. Did anyone else who received the email last week receive anything?

I got the apology email as well last week to say I should be able to hear from them by May 6. I got nothing so far.

I called in this morning, and the rep said that I am at stage 1, which means they have generated my refund request. It will takes up to 45 business days (not calendar days) for them to release the money to the bank (ie, stage 2) since I submitted the request, which I did in mid of March.

I just got off the phone with RC because I did not get an email either. We paid alot of money for our cruise and we are both looking to potentially be out of work now for maybe a month (schools are closed and we have no remote option). So it's ignorant of people to say "chill out, it will come". It's nice to be in that position, so please be kind to others that are trying to figure out how ends will be met without income for the next possible 4 weeks or more.

Some clarification points I got from a really helpful RC agent (who I only waited maybe 10 seconds on hold to talk to).

1- Full refunds will be issued in 30 BUSINESS days (not calendar) from the day you put in the request.

2-If you cancelled your OB activities (chops, ect) prior to cancelling your cruise, you will get that back in 7-10 business days. If you did not, see above.

3-Confirmation emails will not be sent for those in the "suspended" sailings- through 4/11. She explained this as the way the coding happens in their system. You didn't cancel your cruise, Royal did, so you don't get a cancellation email. If you were cancelling a cruise outside that window, you will get an email (makes no sense at all to me, but alas, that's what she told me).

Hopefully that reassures people during times that are already maddening.

Thanks for your input. On the phone call, can they confirm that they received your refund request (shown in their system) even though they won’t send email out. Is there any confirmation number associate with it? Thank you.

Wondering the same thing, I submitted the refund request as well and I have not received anything further.  They indicated that a confirmation email would be coming but I also have not seen anything yet.  I assume that it will show up, but has anyone successfully gotten the refund confirmation email?

    Dan

I haven’t got the confirmation email so far after submitting the refund request online. Did you book your cruise via agent or RCI directly? I just talked with RCI, and asked when I could receive the confirmation email. They didn’t know the answer, and just suggested me to contact my agent to re-submit the full refund request.

I am waiting on the phone to talk to them for more than 2 hours. I may give up, and call in another time if I do not hear from them then. Anyone gotten the refund email please update here. Thanks.

So I booked our cruise using some FCC.  Anyone know what happens with that?  If I take the FCC is it 125% of the amount I paid in cash then 100% of the FCC?  If I take the cash is it only a refund of the cash amount then FCC for the FCC I used?

    Thanks!

Did everyone get the e-mail from Royal?  I have had zero communication from them.  Mine leaves April 6.

It should be refunded to the original payment method.

RCI sent out an email about the suspension last night. I got one.

That’s where your insurance would be used.

What kind of insurance will cover the flight expense due to trip cancellation? Credit card? Our airline offers credit good for one year now, but if I prefer full refund. Can I contact my credit card company to cover my flight insured for trip interruption?
