  1. Myself and my husband are booked on a March 27th sailing on the Silhouette. We are in our 30s and very grateful to have great health. I am not concerned about getting the virus I am concerned about quarantines, insurance implications and potentially being stranded by our government as they have stated. We're probably going to play this out until the very last minute we can cancel and see how things progress. However, I really feel like this is an over reaction by our government, lets remember there's been 1 death in Canada.

I've just done my first cruise in December, and had three sea days.  I could have dropped all the port days for sea days and been in complete bliss.

To me, sitting on my balcony listening to the water splash up against the bow, and watching the horizon go by...I could literally feel the stress melting away.  I inevitably fall asleep.

One of the best parts of my cruise was waking up in the middle of the night for whatever reason and going out on the veranda.  The moon on the water, the glisten of the waves, the sounds...just magical.

I had booked my second cruise, and transpac from Tokyo to Vancouver BC, but it was canceled.  Now rescheduling for a transatlantic out of Miami.  9 days at sea.  I can't wait.  In fact, my cruise planner just emailed me that my stateroom is being reserved!

    whoo hoo!

This will be our first time with a balcony room and I so have to go out to look at the moon one night when I wake up. Love this idea!!

Have a lie in, breakfast and then a good walk and long steam session. Usually a trivia in there too. Sushi lunch then cards and reading - nap - will usually take part in a scavenger hunt or game show in the afternoon.

A scavenger hunt sounds like a fun time!

Even though I have been retired for several years, I still find that reading for FUN during the middle of the day, not reading for business, is absolutely decadent.  Really totally decadent.  So sea days often find me reading -- something that I find entertaining for ME.  Almost as good as a really good piece of chocolate.

I couldn’t agree more, I’m already researching the list of books I’m bringing with me!

I am enjoying reading everyone’s responses, dreaming of relaxing days at sea.

  5. Ever since we booked our cruise a few weeks ago I have been fascinated with cruise vlogs and trip reports. I love seeing how people spend their time on-board. Thought it might be fun to start a post asking folks what your ideal sea day looks like? What’s your favourite way to spend your day? What activities do you like the most? This cruise will be the most sea days we’ve ever had on a cruise, we have 4! Honestly, I am looking forward to them the most. I am looking forward to a good gym workout followed by lots of pool time / reading, maybe checking out trivia events with my husband.

  6. This will be our first time in Aruba - we’re not much for shore excursions rather like to make our own adventure. I’m thinking about heading to Eagle Beach once we get off the ship via the beach bus or a taxi. From what I’ve read this beach would be more of our style. However, there doesn’t seem to be many food options there so I’m thinking when we get hungry to head to Palm Beach for food, Edwardos looks amazing and I know hubby would like Scott’s Brats. Followed by few more hours of beach time at Palm Beach then finishing our day by checking out the local craft beer brewery Fireson which is near Palm Beach. Then head back for a look around the port before boarding the ship.

For folks that have been before it seems like there are mixed opinions about distance from Eagle to Palm beach and if it’s walkable. Any recommendations on how to get from one to the other? Or where we should get dropped off at Eagle? Does all this seem like a reasonable plan for a day in Aruba? Any recommendations?

  7. We received the four perks promo with our booking but still able to purchase the drink package when I login to the cruise planner. Is this normal? I don't see anywhere other then my invoice from our TA that we received the 4 perks but the onboard credit is there so I assume it went through. Just wanted to be sure there was no issue.
