  1. Lisa... For me... The induction of at least 2 weeks of 50 carbs a day... Is such a cleansing and knowing what I 'was' eating and how it was effecting me! It was also a simple way to get started... And I knew that will power and planning was going to have to be a part of my daily eating times! ...

  2. And it's New Years!!! Who has thrown out any goodies and your stocking up with low carb foods?

     

    I have been consistent with my walking, some weights and lots of busy!!

  3. And Atkins was on TV this morning with Weight Watchers & South Beach .... That diets don't work for long term! Did you see it?

    Today report said that if you do not make life style changes the weight comes back.

    Yup... It does.

    I have to say that with the lifestyle change I made 10 years ago with learning the Carbs vs calories reasoning...

    I have made lifestyle changes! Keep passing the bread basket, limit the white foods! Things like that, I believe have helped me with my weight issues! I left my Dr visit with 2 less medications!! Yahoo! That my friends is success!!

     

    And with that ... Time to get the shoes on and hit the tread mill!! Have a great day!!

  4. So.. I'm at the Dr... Right now... The scale was friendly!! THE FIRST time in Years!! At the Dr office... Like this number is going in my chart!!! Ok, I'm a little excited!!

  5. Hey! How's everyone's week?

    Stay with it! Hang in there!! What else can I say!?

    This morning... A new weight I haven't seen in a LONG time... Maybe even when I started commenting on this thread. So, 10.5 lbs.... By Christmas!! That is my goal!! Trying this 'one goal at a time' therapy. So far it seems to work!

    I live where we change winter clothes for summer clothes and I put 2 pairs of capris away that... I hope next spring I can give away!!

     

    I cannot see how we are supposed to stay away from nuts... They have helped me on some 'right NOW' moments!!

    Oh you know what I mean..!

    Ok! You be good and stay with it!!

  6. Cerabella... Nix the nuts!! Really! No nuts?! That's just nuts!! LOLOLOLOL they are such a big help to me! And I like almost all of them... Maybe my other personality is a squirrel! Ha!!

     

    Smoked a small turkey tonight... And man does it smell great! I'll get maybe 3 meals off of it! Tacos, a salad and hmmm something else!

     

    'Cleaner' -- great way to describe my nights of ' are you kidding? Again?"... LOL.. But usually it's worth the trips!

     

    Dukan... I'm not sure I know that much about it... But if it's Atkins like... Your going to do great!! I really want to Cruise again next year.. Just trying to decide!... But it takes me awhile to get back on track too!

  7. Hey Lisa!!

    I just finished a container of cashews .. Thankfully there was a half a hand full left and I took care of those! It reminded me that I had asked about nuts here! Ha!

    I ways have pumpkin seeds to munch on when I drive to Colorado!

    I was in Red River over the weekend with friends and was a bad kitty... I mean really!! Friends, fall and fun!!

    But .. Back on track and I was surprised by how little damage I did .. Even with 3 nights of New Mexican restaurant suppers!! [emoji15][emoji3]

    Gotta get on that treadmill this morning!

    Balloon Fiesta starts tomorrow for a week!!.... Wise choices and stay away from the funnel cake!

  8. Lisa!! Girl,.... I wish I could work out like you do!! I chase my 3 yr old GD around all day and I am worn out! No loss to report - I maybe stuck for a few days... Stuck is good, going up - not so good!

  9. Saw a number on my scales this morning... I haven't seen in a long time!!

    Yehaw!!! Riding Atkins to the next 5 lb goal!!

    ..and I even ate at Chik fi let yesterday!!

    I am going to try so hard to be good this weekend !!

  10. Was so bummed on yesterday's tattle tale scale reading -- paid close attention to everything that I put on my fork -- and in my mouth ---- and this morning!!... A big loss!! Ye Hawww ..!! Ride Atkins !! [emoji2][emoji1][emoji2]

  11. Hey Hey! Cerabella!! Try pounding the chicken breasts... Burns calories, works arm muscles and makes hubby come check on what's getting a whacking!! LOL!!

     

    Ahh.. The Magic! I remember the food being pretty good while floating in and around the Med before it came to the states! Have you eTen in the Italian restaurant up above the buffet? We thought it was really well worth the extra!

    I am so land locked... [emoji21] We have a long way to go for any cruise... And I'm ready for one !!

     

    Steak on the grill tonight! And then it started raining! [emoji15]

    Four lbs on a B2B cruise??... Wowzers! That's fantastic!!

     

    I beat out 4 chicken breasts on the counter tonight like they were a piñata .. put on the grill and at the almost cooked stage put some slices of green chile over them that was actually from last years supply, topped with a slice of provolone cheese to melt. Some broccoli with a little cheddar ... And that was supper folks!!

  13. Well!! Hey Everybody!!... Yup! I'm back in the saddle -- again!! Riding a horse named Atkins on the up hill climb of weight loss, stopping in the meadows of maintaining and sliding down hill when it's the holidays - vacation - cooking channel or my GD's pleading for a trip to get ice cream!! Yeah, it's been that way for awhile now. I am working on the 17 lbs to get me back to a good workable goal... And hopefully some more from there, but for now the scales have me focused on those 17!

    I think it also helps that after going through a tornado of life experience for almost 2 years, things have calmed down so emotionally I feel I can work on this part of my life again!

     

    I loved going back and reading posts that are so encouraging!! So, this Gramma will be checking back with you all to see what's new! I've missed you Old Timers too! Take care!

  14. Good Morning Low-carb People! Well, I got back on Tuesday night from a 5 day Girls trip in LA and TX...and with truly seafood crazy girls! - I thought I had done a lot of set backs but yay... 2 lbs! I'm sure all of the walking and laughing has to be why the scales weren't SCREAMING at me yesterday!;) It helped that there were some places that we split big portion dinners.... do you do that? Even if there was some no no foods on the plate it limited the amounts! :p So, new jeans & capris still fit and yahoo for that!

     

    I find it harder to grill with 40 mi hour winds and the cold front behind them that give a heck of a wind chill.... so the oven/crock pot is working for me this week!

     

    I'm still chasing my 2 yr old and 5 yr old Grand-daughters 4 days a week! If it ever warms up I plan to lace up my shoes and get walking again!

     

    Just wanted to pop in and say Hi.... Keep on the Journey!! :)

  15. Yikes!!! So much good chatter and I hope I didn't scare anyone away!! Come Back! :)

     

    So, I've been doing very well for 3 weeks.. Weekend conference and Bam! I'm sitting all day and feeling everything s l o w down... BOO!!! If I can get through the next 24hours ... I should be back on track!

    Cerabella.. I have my seeds all sorted out and after this last burst of rain/snow... I'm going to get my little Greenhouse plants started for this summer... I do an early group... Then another group about 4 weeks apart... Digging in the dirt... Spring fever!!

  16. One of my favorite snacks is a few chicken wings. 3 or 4 ... can just curb my tummy saying it's time to have something sweet! ... If you eat wings... What kind are your favorite? Do you make your own? How do you make them? Oven, fryer or grill?

  18. Hey Hey Hey!!!

    Whatcha Low Carbers up to these days??

    I have to say......our Alsakan Cruise was... FANTASTIC!!! We had a blast, saw so much, lots of whales, great weather.................and stairs! Lots of stairs!! They are always killers for me when we first get on the ship -- by day 3 or 4 it gets easier!

    I watched what I ate... kept an eye on portions... but like Cerabella... I was on vacation and had a little splurge here and there!

    I Have To Tell you all though .... in Ketchikan there is a great Rain Forrest excursion and we saw bears getting salmon in the stream, eagles and deer - and then after - an all you can eat dungeness crab dinner ............. that I have to say was so delicious, and then cheesecake for dessert!! So.......I got home and have kept the low carbs going, walking & hiking .... and drum roll please... I saw a number on the scale I haven't seen in awhile ....and man am I pumped up!! I'm getting some more of this baggage of weight off! I should have some baggy jeans in a matter of a few more weeks!

    When we got home...the keeper of my garden let some of my veggies die and man was I sad!! But I still have tomatoes and am glad for that!

    I've gotten in the routine of walking first thing in the morning.... and then another walk in the evening if I can get it in!.. What am I going to do when it starts getting darker earlier!! Yikes!!

    Well... I've missed you guys...............whoever is still around!!

    Posting is good therapy for me......ya'all have seen my ups and downs for sure through the years!! .... Hmmm.... wonder if I could hit the numbers that I was at when I first started posting!?!?...... Huge goal for me!! For now... I'm taking it in 10's.... and that works for me!

  19. Hey Hey Cerabella!!

    My Cruise starts a week from tomorrow...but we head to Seattle this Friday!:D Yippee!! I'm so excited!

    I've been walking in the mornings....before my 2 & 4 year old Grand-daughters arrive for their time with me 4 days a week 10-4:30... it's not to bad...but I have to say, when my bed time comes around! I'm ready!! haha!

    Low Carb for me.... yes and no. It's like for every 2 LC meals I have one that always has a little something that isn't the best! I have been getting some veggies out of the garden now and I'm loving those!!

    If I don't get back on before my trip!!... Cerabella....keep talking girl!! We know there are lurkers on every thread! :):p
