Thank you, Sthrngary, for your lengthy work in putting together these informative posts.  We will be utilizing much of the information provided in our upcoming cruise.  Also, thank you for taking the high road in responding to......detractors.  

I'm a guy, and I hate carrying items in my pockets.  Hate having a bulky phone.  Hate having a wallet.  (In fact, I leave my wallet in my suit coat.). I like the convenience of a lanyard.  Frankly, if that is the ONLY thing I ever wear making me look stupid, I feel like I am winning at life.  

Oh...and as for mitten clips?  Pfffft.   Those were for rich kids.  When Mom knitted our mittens, she connected them with a long string we shoved through both sleeves.  Kinda like a lanyard for mittens.

I created an account on Cruise Critic to emphasize and restate what others have said.  This is some of the best writing available.  You really need to write a blog.  And I am definitely using your catch phrase on our next Cruise.  "But I didn't let it ruin my vacation." !
