Aft wrap suite, Pride. Sailing March 18
I would not sail in this cabin again, if you gave it to me. We came in on Sunday and the door was open, airing out the suite. The smell of wet wood, mold and sewage was overpowering....clearly there had been an issue the last cruise. Nevertheless, guest services said that there were no stains....nope...no stains. They put in an ionizer that took three nights to make a dent in the odor. It was actually gross to walk on it, and we did so only in shoes. We got a bottle of wine at dinner for our inconvenience.
Bent vents that rattled all night
Stains and dirt on tub door.
Then there was the black sludge that the engine spewed out many days. This was on the balcony. It also hit the Serenity area.....causing one young lady to jump up with a scream after a dime size glob hit her on the thigh. Crew said it was nothing to worry about.....
Chairs on balcony. Again, note black stuff on them
This ship needs to be given a major facelift. It is rusty, extremely smokey, dark, stained and just gritty. From food on the walls in the dining room, to leaks in the buffet....see pic below....she just needs some major work.
This was how the crew took care of the liquid that was leaking onto the seats from above. Truly...they stuck a napkin on it and walked away. I’ll post more this week. Truthfully, if you are booked on this ship, I wish you well.

call security and have them start the time clock, this needs to be curbed. This is on reason we have been doing all inclusives lately. Always a chair, excellent service, many (free) restaurant choices. Of course all the booze is top shelf and free.
Agreed that it must stop. To be honest, though, I give them about 15 minutes... if no one emerges from the pool and claims the seat with the dry towel and unopened book, I put them on the ground and take the chair. It is the epitome of selfishness to drop crap on chairs and then go off for hours. If by chance someone does come back, then I tell them that I moved their stuff.

My mom is in a balcony room next to us. We paid almost the double price. As someone said above, it was just a bit less.
-
Perfect. That’s just what I was looking for. Thanks!

A group of us are sailing on the Pride from Baltimore on March 18, my mom among them. How many days of cool/ cold weather would you expect on the 7 day Bahama cruise? Departure day +1? Departure day +2? She has asked, and I am not sure of the answer for an early spring departure.
-
I would love to know too. We want to do the same thing! It isn’t a great idea and the trays look perfect for it.
-
We have done this several times on RC I would say go for it. It’s fun!
-
Report them without hesitation for safety reasons. Fire onboard a ship is extremely dangerous and the designated areas are positioned to mitigate this risk.

Yes. This is so true.

How do you deal with smokers on neighboring balconies when they seem to ignore the rules? Also, do aft wraps and extended balconies have as much of an issue with blowing smoke? Thanks, in advance.

Wow! It is 2017 and they still say those things? Just....wow. Certainly, it is the young women who are at fault for, well....looking like women. And how do they explain the distraction of all those gay, young men? It is definitely not the young women who are distracting them. Jeez.....it’s like we are in the 1950s.

Folks. I have worked in schools for thirty years and have been the person in charge of writing, enforcing, editing and clarifying dress codes. I have given presentations at national conferences, and I have consulted with schools on a regular basis as they work to address issues of dress in their learning environment. Let me be clear, dress “codes” are only codes when they are actively enforced, and folks are asked to change if they are out of said code. The truth is that anything else is simply a recommendation for appropriate dress. Furthermore, whether we like it or not, enforcing codes brings with it all kinds of issues that I am sure Carnival (or most schools) do not want to address.
Really, not to be dismissive, but short of dress code police in the dining room who are enforcing a code, people will wear what they want. My advice to anyone would be to wear what you want and unsderstand that you may face some embarrassingly consequences if you are asked to change.
Truthfully, what other people wear has little to do with my enjoyment (or yours either) of a fine dinner.

I used to carry both bottles of wine when I cruised with my mom. We went through security together and I'd just point at her when they looked at the bottles.
That’s good to know. I suspect I will carry all that for us since it will certainly be easier. Thanks to those who offered that info!

Let’s just pretend you did not make that arrogant, condescending, ageist post.
Ummmmm..how do I say this? It was written with humor and fun. Clearly, it went over your head. Given that, if you have nothing but snarky retorts....keep them to yourself...or take a cruise. You need to lighten up. And by the way, my mom is laughing really hard.
It’s really amazing how some people will spend so much effort being unfriendly and unhelpful.

...that my husband and I are bringing our widowed mothers on a cruise in March. They have their own cabins....remember, we are just pretending. So, I am correct in that we can load each of them up with a bottle of fine wine AND twelve cans of soda? So...again....just pretending...they could haul on board a case of soda and two bottles of wine? Oh...we are bringing our aunt too...so we would load her up...I mean...have her carry....I mean ask her nicely to bring another bottle and twelve more sodas? BTW....they are 76, 74, and 67 respectively...but they are tough. Big arms...they work out.

I would never ignore anyone who says hello to me. I would offer them the same courtesy back.
I’m just saying that I’m not scouting around to search out all the gays on the ship to be sure that I didn’t miss saying hello to them.

Yes...this.

1.I am really confused how people who post here seem to be able to tell that others are gay by simply looking at them. That is a sad commentary on the lack of progress and positive growth in the gay community.
2.Sorry, but when someone says hello to me, the first thing I think is NOT, “oh they must be gay.”
We are not talking about common decency here. What is being proposed is that some suspected gay people are rude because they do not say hi when greeted by a stranger. That is silly, and sounds like a third grader complaining to the recess proctor that kids on the playground won’t play with him.
-
Wait....why just because I am gay...do I have to say hello to others who may(or may not) be gay. Do black people have to say hello to all black people they see on cruises? I suspect that my many Asian friends do not feel any anxiety when they are not greeted by other Asians when passing on the street. It seems that gay guys still have this thing about being noticed...just saying

I wonder if cruise lines that operate in Europe carry channels that broadcast soccer games. I can’t imagine a European cruise from Barcelona without soccer on every TV. :D

CB. You are correct that it is a port stop. That said, we are Disney vets so the time doesn’t worry me. We will wander, take pics, eat.....say hello to Elsa....and come back. My mom has never been so it will be cool to get her there. I was concerned about where to meet the drivers, reliability, traffic....and whether limo companies would do a round trip of this type. Five got back to me....and they all do!
-
I've used Florida Town Car Service to and from Orlando/Port Canaveral and found them to be reliable.
Thank you! I sent out emails for about six quotes. I will add this company too.
-
Folks,
Has anyone ever used a car/limo for transport to and from Orlando for the day? There are five of us, and I think we will either do Disney Springs or Epcot and would like to explore the idea of private transport. Has anyone done this? Did you have a good amount of time at Disney? Which company did you use?
Thanks for your help!
Arriving on Pride to PC in March.
