Litterally in the same boat (we board in Genoa 22/09). I spoke with MSC last night but no real information to add. They say changes are happening all the time and they expect an update in the next few days.

Annoyingly though, late last night i had 2 Bid to upgrade emails sent through for this sailing. So whilst MSC wont currently allow us onboard, they're more than happy to continue taking our money.

We're in a dilema, that we've booked a back up holiday to greece, and we need to make the decision if we are to cancel, or wait for MSC to make the call, but risk being able to board. We have until tuesday to make the decision on what to do.

Ouch that sounds painful! It is ridiculous though as each time I call them to say the information is in black and white on your various websites, they are still claiming to be waiting for information about something.

We too want to book something else separate from a cruise, but MSC aren't playing ball. I am tempted to take them to Watchdog or ABTA as it is really bad still taking money from us when they know full well we can't travel.

  2. MSC emailed earlier today to say that the sailing has been moved to the 29th Sept, and the timings in each port has changed with an extra night added.

It's still the MSC Virtuosa, and we have been given 4 different options. Accept the new date and get 200 euros onboard credit, move to a different cruise, request a future cruise voucher with the extra 200 euros added or to request a refund. We will probably accept the new date as its something myself and my parents have been looking forward to since our cruise last year got cancelled. So fingers crossed it all goes ahead now! Thanks for all your help guys and good luck with your future sailings 🙂

  3. Not sure if anyone has seen this or if it’s been answered elsewhere. We have a sailing booked on Virtuosa out of Barcelona on the 20th Sept for a cruise around the Med and down to Lisbon and Morocco. The cruise has disappeared off MSC website, however it is still showing for embarkation from Genoa, Malaga and Lisbon (all ports of call on the cruise) The next Barcelona sailing is also showing for the 29th Sept. On our booking summary it has got NAR and your cruise departs in 19 days time. On speaking to MSC on Friday they advised it has been cancelled, but nothing has come through by email to confirm this. We also managed to pay more off earlier that day by phone, so it makes me think the right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing at MSC. Anyone else had this experience, or knows more about Virtuosa’s plans? I know she is sailing around the UK and I did read somewhere that this was planned to go on until the end of October.

Definitely a veranda, not an Ocean View. From the M-Class spreadsheet description: Aft corner with some wraparound, and the deck plan makes it quite obvious.

Yes that’s what I thought, must be an error with the website

This seems to be ocean view without a balcony....weren't you concerned with having a deep balcony or did I read your post incorrectly?

I wanted the the FV with the deep balcony, so I think this is an error with the website.

  5. So little update for everyone. We have managed to book a FV on the Infinity, but weirdly the online booking is now showing the stateroom as (and I quote from the page);

    Family Ocean View Stateroom #7202

Maximum occupancy 5 GUESTS | Stateroom: 271 sq. ft., Total : 271 sq. ft.

Should I be concerned with this, or is this another sign of Celebrity’s crappy website?

Be proactive and check prices for Aqua Class dependent on location. Blu is the special restaurant for AQ and is a real upgrade. Quite possibly you can get it for around the same price.

yes I have tried having a look but unfortunately there are no options to upgrade to this stateroom...even though their website is showing some available. I think their website and phones are broken - been on hold for nearly an hour now!

My POV is the aft cabin view is far superior to a side view. Plus you'll get better club points in Concierge.  If you're looking for perks, consider the AQ cat if the difference isn't too much and you can stay aft. AQ eats in BLU.

We've had three aft view cabins before and our next cruise is aft.  Once you do, it's hard to go back.

Is the size difference between C1 and FV that substantial?

If you google or YouTube Family Veranda Celebrity Infinity there is some good photos/videos of the size of the room

  8. Thanks both, i think we will go for the family veranda as we're not too fussed about the points or the added amenities. The family veranda are on both port and starboard sides at the back, so have a view of the aft/wake and also the side view of the ship. They are #7199 and 7202 in the deck plan image below827342197_Screenshot_20200512-125229_SamsungInternet.thumb.jpg.da4b88fa883ea1d2b46f92b5f21c974e.jpg

  9. Hi guys,

me and my parents are going on our first Celebrity Infinity cruise in September (Coronavirus pending yes) and have booked a aft concierge class stateroom (C1 Category I think it is). I have checked and found I can upgrade to one of the family verandas on the side, which has more space and a huge balcony. My question is, are the extra amenities with concierge worth the money or Would the extra space win? Also are the dining options the same between concierge and veranda, as we’d still like to keep the freestyle or whatever it is called dining.

Of course all of this depends on what happens with the virus and the global situation, and it if it does go ahead, it will be interesting to see what changes are made to the ship in the form of social distancing and buffet restaurants.
