Well thats great to know that I am in the remaining 10% of people who haven’t received their full refund yet sitting here at 131 days since cancellation 😳

So here’s my latest FYI... I finally received my refund on day 145!  I totally understand your frustration because I was there also.  Hopefully the fact I finally did receive mine gives you all long timers some hope.  On a side note... I had my Royal Caribbean cruise cancel on me 3 weeks ago for September and I got my full refund back in 2 weeks!!

    UNBELIEVABLE!

I've been on the phone to my cc company today to file a dispute - Bank of Montreal MasterCard Canada.

Now sitting at 122 days since e-mail confirmation from Princess (March 17th 2020) for choosing Option 1 150% FCC for 2 cruises cancelled May 8th and May 9th Pause 1.

Received FCC June 1st but still waiting for taxes, fees and Princess Platinum Protection refund for trip cancellation.

After a lengthy talk with BMO MasterCard agent I was advised to e-mail Princess and get written confirmation of the amount of refunds owing. There is no way to contact Princess by e-mail on their website to get any written confirmation.

The BMO MasterCard agent consulted with her supervisor and advised me that I have 100 days from my date of cancelled service (May 8th and May 9th) to file the dispute, but getting anything in writing is another matter.

I don’t expect you’ll get what you need though I really hope you do.  Here’s the email I’ve used before with an eventual response:  customerrelations@princesscruises.com   The last time I wrote them I didn’t get a response at all.  Good Luck to us all.

Did you ask about "services not rendered". Often that has a different time frame.

Yes, I told them I received no service, products etc...

CC said “we have no recourse due to the extended period of time” “don’t wait so long next time’.  OKAY... I won’t!  If I ever have to go through this again, I’ll put the dispute in earlier.  Lesson learned.

  4. My suggestion to ALL it concerns...

If you have not received your refunds by 90 days then file the dispute with your CC.

I made the mistake of waiting (not necessarily patiently) for them to do the right thing. It’s been almost 130 days and I’ve got no recourse with my CC company.   I was informed disputes need to be done within 2-3 months from the charge.
Now I’m at the mercy of Princess.  Don’t like it!

If you are thinking of me (June 12, Star SFO to SFO) I did receive refunds for shore excursions and dining, and FCC and bonus FCC, but no refund yet for port fees and taxes or for prepaid gratuities.  Did you request a pure refund as opposed to taking the FCC option?  I wonder if pure refunds are taking longer?

Could be.. I am waiting for the full refund.  Could be that’s the problem.

we must of been booked on the same cruise. I’m still waiting too.
my future cruise credits are showing, but no cash. Ridiculous.

We were on the Star, SFO to SFO, May 3rd.  There Is NO rhyme or reason to the refund timeline.  I read a post here of someone who was on the same cruise a month later and they’ve gotten their refund.  Obviously it’s not in “date-of-Cruise” order.  I’ve been told at least twice that a rush had been put on it (over the last 3 weeks).  After talking to my Princess Cruise planner last week, she asked me to give them till the 21st. After that I will dispute on my CC if I haven’t received the refund.   Aggravatingly ridiculous!

I won’t tell you to be patient because that is just so aggravating to hear; you are going on 2 months of being patient.   It’s a lot of your money they are using.

Based on the timing so far and when you cancelled, I would hope you see your refund between day 60 and 90 after cancelling, but it could be much later.  The longest refund I have seen so far is 111 days, but there are a couple of FB posts stating they are at 4 months and waiting.  Your refund should be straightforward.

    122 days and counting......

I've had a few very forward cabins when I first started cruising in 2003/4 on smaller ships.  In heavy seas, there was the up/down motion of course, but sometimes we'd get hit sideways with a roller wave and the slamming would make this part of the ship shudder.

This is at least lessened or minimized by being on a larger ship.  We were recently on the Symphony of the Seas, and the aqua show in the aft pool was cancelled due to the water really sloshing around.  We could see a difference in the water level of about 4 or 5' in the pool but I couldn't feel the ship moving at all.

    Thank you for the information!
We’re going to try it but also going to keep on a lower deck.

but it's very ship specific. On bigger ships we haven't noticed any movement or there was very little movement felt (Allure of the Seas, NCL Getaway, Regal Princess) whereas on a smaller ship (NCL Jade) the movement was very bad (for us personally)

Looks to be same size as the Regal.  Did you have the front forward on any of your trips and in any rough seas?

I have stayed in forward cabins several times.  On calm days, there isn't much difference but if the seas start to kick up a little, you will feel it much more forward, especially if the room is on a higher deck.  You you think you are susceptible to motion sickness, I recommend going more mid ship.

Thanks!  Motion sickness is definitely not anything we’re interested in.  I also should have mentioned it’s a transatlantic Cruise.

  11. This is my very first question (as I’m brand new to this).  I’m considering booking a front facing forward suite (on deck 10 of 18) on the New Sky Princess.  Can anyone tell me about their personal experiences with motion etc...? Did you have any issues?  This is for any cruise line not just Princess.

    Thanks in advance!
