  1. I suggest people watch the You Tube video Covid-19 The Inside Story of the Princess Diamond Coronavirus Infection Outbreak Onboard. It should be all the explanation anyone needs. How fast people forget. I will not cruise if vaccinations are not required. Masks will need to be worn in public areas till we are sure that we are past the high infection rate.

  3. Will we be required to take only cruise line sponsored excursions  in December 2021?   Who is it that will be making this decision if it hasn’t  already been done?  The cruiseline, the CDC or the port ? I’m thinking this might be something that can’t be answered... but things change so fast maybe we have an update on this ???

  4. I love to see the responces to  this post.  It makes me think all the more that we have booked on Holland America for all the best reasons. ( First time cruisers with HAL ).  Maybe my husband and I will learn a few dance steps from watching others.

  5. Coming from a medical background I can not understand why anyone would not want the advantage of being vaccinated. I will not cruise if vaccinations are not required. Vaccinations are not "forced".  You have a choice and so do the cruiselines and ports of arival in regards to allowing you entry.  I have been vaccinated as a respect for all people, countries and businesses involved. The more people who are vaccinated the faster the world will heal. Just my two cents to the question posed.

    Sorry but too little info.
Your “moderate” and my “moderate” may be vastly different things.

If you’re new to cruising, you should absolutely consider identifying a cruise specialist TA who will consider your travel experiences, preferences, expectations and the means to pay for them.

FWIW, our preferred line is Oceania. It caters primarily to well-travelled adults 50+ though on short Med/Alaska cruises you will find multigenerational families. Enjoy fine food? Look no further. Food writers (e.g., Bon Appetite, Saveur, etc) praise the line’s culinary excellence.

Six ships (four w/670 passengers and two w/1100). Excellent space and crew ratios and the fare is mostly inclusive (e.g., air fare or air credit included; no charge for specialty restaurants; complementary Internet and beverages....).
In addition to working with a cruise specialist TA, familiarize yourself with the various Oceania (and other lines’) forums here on CC. You’ll come away with some sense of which lines might appeal to you.

Thanks.  That sounds perfect.  We've been on about 18 cruises.  Just checking out a few new lines.

  7. We would like to cruise on a ships that isn’t loud and crazy but isn’t filled with walkers and canes either. We’re socially friendly, mid 60’s and looking to make some wonderful memories. Which line would you suggest?  Moderate size and pricing.
