Guess, they are relying on you to to choose to forfeit a $450 deposit now, more than ever.

Technically you never forfeit a $450 deposit rather $100 of it with the rest, $350 returned as an FCC.

The CWC promo has been a game changer in the NRD vs. Refundable decision making process.  I have a couple $100 CWC FCC that I obtained by booking NRD and later cancelling.

Studio cabins on many ships seems to have some crazy refundable uplifts so the CWC option has been very helpful.

    Points are points😉

And if they screw up the math, just call and request one. Easier to get home😁

Absolutely, just wondering if he needed the double to get there or not and if they are being that proactive.

On his Happs broadcast, CLR showed the Adventure block he got for hitting 630 points. Was waiting in his cabin on day 1.

Wonder if he reached 630 based on double points. With the double promo he must be a few cruises away from the big 700.

Curious if they are doing the math to determine if a block threshold is crossed and including the 2x in their calculation.  Many times in the past when solo they didn't factor in the double unless you talked to them and pointed it out.  With 2x, 4x and even 6x for solo suites on the table I'm curious if they are being proactive when deciding who is block eligible.

  4. Option one - spend hours on the phone for each cancelation chasing incorrect refunds and FCC amounts or...

Option two - send one email to my TA and go open another beer.

I choose option two.  TAs cost nothing and charge no fees (the good ones anyways).

That's why I use a TA every single cruise.

The bigger issues for those affected are flight cancelations, hotel cancelation, shuttle/transportation cancelation, excursion cancelation, and so on. This is no small feat and in many cases, the passengers are going to be out money. They can only hope insurance covers those losses, but that is another entire set of new issues.

    • 125% FCC is only good when RCL does jack the rates up 3x.
    • Canceling this late has financial impact on many travelers
    • How are passengers compensated for losses that can't be recovered through cancelations and insurance?

My July 3rd sailing was already a jacked up price, so my jacked up FCC 125% might cover the already new ship jacked up rates of a future cruise.
