  1. Google park, stay, cruise. There are some websites that offer what you are looking for. We stayed at Wingate BWI on Dec. 9 for our 12 night cruise. Hotel was very nice and transportation worked out very well. *** Be sure to get the park and cruise package and also be sure to check on the amount of free parking nights. Have a great time on your cruise.:D

  2. Interesting - do you know if other RCCL ships are now offering such things as lobster in the MDR for an additional price? Did you have a night aboard ship where lobster was served (without an additional charge)? On RCCL ships I've sailed (European cruises & TA) there has always been a night where lobster was served in the MDR & it has always been free in the past - and we look forward to it. Sure hope that this is not a harbinger of things to come on all cruises/lines - must pay extra in the MDR.

Yes, there was lobster tails one night. My husband said it was very good and you can get more than one.;)

  3. We were on the Grandeur for 12 days this month and found the food in the MDR to be very good. The menu was a little different from our past cruises. The service was probably some of the best we've had in the recent past. We are not fussy, but we do enjoy good food:D. Also, we thought the crew on the Grandeur was extremely friendly. Go enjoy your cruise!!!!

  4. My daughter got married on the Navigator just over ten years ago. The whole experience with Royal Caribbean was excellent. The wedding was in the small chapel. The reception was in the Viking Crown Bar. A wedding coordinator took care of all the details. I don't know if anything has changed since then. It was outstanding!

  5. Your OBC will show up on your seapass account by day 2. You have 2 options, you can take it out at the casino, although there is a daily limit of $300, and unless you have a cash account you will pay a 5% fee. Otherwise, you can take it out at guest relations. Now having said that, the OBC must be refundable, not the credit you get from RC as a booking bonus, that OBC is non-refundable.

    Hope this helps?

Thanks, very helpful, now get back to enjoying your cruise;).

  6. Not one bit!

Set up a cash account, and on day 2 took out all my OBC and threw a credit card down on the sea pass. Easy Peasy!

Hi ckrobyn, sorry for the stupid:confused: question. How do you go about getting your OBC? On our next cruise, we have $350 OBC. I would love to get some of it in cash for spending money. Thanks for taking me along on your cruise;). I am really enjoying it. Have a great cruise!!!!

  7. I want to apologize about my complaining earlier this evening. As I said, when we can't get waiter service I normally just go up to the bar and order. In fact, most of the time that is quicker.

It was just the waitress was blatantly ignoring us, even when the other waiter pointed to our table and talked to her. Maybe it was because we were alone, I don't know. But we struggle to fit in up there as it is, I didn't need to get it from the wait staff too.

This may be TMI but Mare and I are not outgoing people (I know it may not seem that way with our live reports :o). When we sit alone it's because we are uncomfortable asking to sit with people we do not know, we are not antisocial. Thankfully over the past few years of cruising some of you have gone out of your way to try to help us fit in and we greatly appreciate it. Well as I said, too much information so let's move on. :o

Bill, my husband and I are the same way. We often sit by ourselves at the diamond events, which is o.k. with us. We enjoy each others company. Thanks for the great live report. I enjoy "cruisin" with you and your wife😀. Maybe one day we will be luck enough to be on a cruise with you and Marie..........;)

  8. 3 hotels that have an airport shuttle and a round-trip cruise shuttle are:

    Holiday Inn Express Rocky Point

    Hampton Inn Rocky Point

    Chase Suites Rocky Point.

***** the return shuttle is a nice perk and a savings of $25 - $30

The Rocky Point area is near the airport and a 15 min shuttle ride to the port. The area overlooks the Bay and makes for a nice pre-cruise stay.

    .

The Best Western Bay Harbor Rocky Point is also very nice and offers private balconies that overlook the water. They have a cruise package with airport shuttle and a shuttle to the port but not sure if they have a return shuttle... The hotel however does have the balconies and IMHO that is a very nice perk as sitting out there overlooking the water at sunset is a perfect way to unwind with a cold drink.

The Best Western does not include breakfast where the Holiday Inn, Hampton and Chase Suites do.... it's just a matter of priorities.

    Thanks for the info:D

  9. Don't know if this will help, but our daughter got married on the Navigator ten years ago. The wedding was held in the chapel on the ship before the cruise. We boarded the ship early on cruise day. Had a nice little reception in the Viking Lounge with a wedding cake and champagne. We had guest that attended the wedding and reception then got off the ship. It was a beautiful day, Royal Caribbean provided a wedding planner. She did and outstanding job. Our daughter talked us into going on that cruise, now she can't stop us:eek: from cruising.

  10. We were on the Legend Members cruise on Nov. 25. It was a fantastic cruise. I can't say that we had any complaints. The crew, service and the food were all very good. The ship is in good condition. It was the smallest ship that we have been on but we thoroughly enjoyed it. There was an outbreak of "nor-virus", which we have encountered on other cruises also. I don't blame that on Royal Caribbean, it is more about the passengers that don't wash their hands and are inconsiderate about coughing:eek:.

    ANOTHER WONDERFUL ROYAL CARIBBEAN CRUISE!!!:D

  11. We took the Sushi Making Class on the Legend. Although it cost $25 each, it was well worth it;). We not only learned how to make sushi, we also got to eat our creations:D. Our leftovers were packed up so we could enjoy them in our cabin later.

  12. The Panama Canal

Recall that I mentioned earlier that the Canal was built using Steam Powered Railroads.

Here is a photo of one of the Railroad Yards.

Here is a drawing that shows how the Steam Shovels and Special, one sided, flat cars worked together.

Here is one of the Steam Shovels

Here is one of the Steam Shovels loading a flat car. Look closely at this photo and you will see that there is only one side on the flat car and that there are iron plates between the cars so that it is one long deck. They used 20 of these cars in a train to haul material dug up by the Steam Shovels.

    Trainman,

I love your "live" cruise reports. My husband I also love train especially steam. We have been on many excursions including Grand Canyon Steam train, which runs on vegetable oil. My grandfathers worked at the ALCO in Schenectady, NY for many years, in fact, they worked on the "Big Boy". I guess that is why I have a love for trains;). Good luck with your new home, hope to meet you on a cruise someday.

  13. Unfortunately, I think no, but you can call them to check: 787-788-8400

Thanks for the quick reply, unfortunately that is what I thought. When it gets closer to cruise time I will give them a call. I wonder how many other places will be closed..........:(
