My husband and I are doing the Panama and Scenic South America cruise stopping in Panama, Ecuador, Peru, and Chile. Has anyone taking this or a similar cruise gotten vaccinations or brought special medications for traveling to this region?

Getting ready for my first cruise on an Expedition ship. We have 5 Viking Ocean cruises under our belt. I have a question. Is there a barista on board like there is in the Living Roomon ocean cruises? I’m a big iced latte fan and want to set my expectations.

Also, the living room makes a tasty decaf iced lattes.

Azamara has been on my short list of lines to try but this video has made me rethink it. I’ve watched a lot of these vloggers videos and believe me when I say that they’re not entitled whiners at all. If anything, they’re sometimes too nice. Frankly, this is not a good look for Azamara. Things happen but it’s how you handle these things says a lot about the ship. It wasn’t just one person’s unpleasantness, it seemed that the whole GR group were having issues. For those who are experienced Azamara cruisers, what makes you loyal to the line.

The thermal suite sounds amazing. Thanks for the suggestion

Thank you for your help I think I’ll book a short cruise in the spring to try it out.

I’ve been interested in trying a Holland America cruise. I’ve been on Royal Caribbean and Norwegian, which I hated because of the crowds and the noise. I’ve been recently traveling on Viking but I want to expand my horizons.
I need a ship that provides a quiet place to get away. I love going to shows and clubs but having a quiet, not crowded place is necessary for me. Does Holland America have those types of places for everyone or do I have to choose a suite for that?

In looking over past cruises shore excursions, there’s multiple ports to take a dog sled ride. Does anyone have a preference or are they all kind of the same?

Currently, on the Sea. Was told by a staff member that there are 144 on board.

Well, in normal times you should have all the info you need, but these are not normal times!
If I were you, I would call Viking Air and not let them off until you get the info. Escalate to a Supervisor if necessary. (I understand your anxiety, but having dealt with Viking many times, I, being me and not you, would check my flights with my airline and if they appear correct, give them a few more days to iron the hotel reservation out.)

It’s funny, I tried that last week since I’ve been ticketed on 7/5 and after being on the phone for over two hours, I was told that I would hear something today. I also emailed tellme who had me talk to someone else who said the same thing. I just don’t know if this is normal.

I guess that I’m worried that it’s a week away from the cruise and that’s still an open item. I’m trying to make sure that all my information is in order and not having specifics is driving me crazy. When do they usually give you the information? If I know that it usually comes a day or two before, then I can relax.

Because Viking could not fly me to Bermuda on the departure day of my cruise (August 3), they offered to fly my husband and me to Boston the day before and put us up in a hotel. I’ve not received any other information since the call explaining it to me. I’ve contacted Viking and after getting the run around, was told that I would receive it 7 days before the cruise.
is this normal? This is my first Viking cruise and my first time using a cruise line to book my tickets, I’m not sure if I’m just freaking out for no reason.

Does anyone know where the ship docks? I don’t know whether to book my hotel in old town or near the piers.

Did you do VeriFly? If not, you need to do it. It asks you for your details, mug shot (a selfie) and PDF or photo of your vaccine certificate. Once you have uploaded the latter they will verify and either approve it or not. Ours was our Bermuda Government issued and they got accepted after an hour. Both Viking and airlines use VeriFly.
Bring both photocopies and original just in case, as you'll be going thru several check-points along the way.
Don’t get me started on VeriFLY. I uploaded my husband and my info on my iPad. Got the message that it was approved then decided to put it on my phone which caused my account to crash. After emailing VeriFLY, I was told that I can’t use the same account for two devices and I’ll have to delete my account and start over.
Thanks for the information.

Can anyone tell me if Bermuda accepts photocopies of vaccine card? I’m putting together printed copies of the required documents for my 8/3 cruise.

Thanks for talking me off the ledge. After reading all 69 pages of this thread, I saw a few people used a Malvern, PA site that seemed to work great. Plus is only$100 for a PCR with a 24 hr turn around.

I decided last minute to book the August 3 cruise and I’m having second thoughts specifically because of the Covid test. I flew to Aruba in April and used the Vault Health test with no problem but I’m getting myself worked up about this trip.
i can’t confirm if Bermuda accepts Vault, I thought about CVS but am worried about the turn around time. What has everyone. Has anyone else just used CVS? I would appreciate any incite

I checked and nothing is required but I agree that checking with my md is probably the best call.
