  1. I'm Cuban-American so naturally have very strong opinion about the subject. The cruise lines knew that the travel categories that Obama allowed to travel to Cuba didn't include tourism. The cruise lines asked the passengers to fill out a form certifying under what category they were traveling to Cuba. I can guarantee that nearly every passenger lied as it is very difficult to believe that you go to a port on a cruise ship for purposes other than tourism. I wonder how those certifications/form/visa will come into play.

What happens to the people who were supposed to head out on Saturday on the Symphony? Does their cruise now get shortened by a day since they now have to head out on Sunday?

My parents were leaving tomorrow and it just got postponed till Sunday. They will get onboard credit for the day that they will miss. My children are going with them and are heart broken right now. We live in Miami so not a big deal in terms of traveling to Port.

I’ve been told of medical exemptions. It was reported there were 4 unvaccinated adults on a recent Harmony cruise. (Somewhere around 4000+ passengers on board.). How easy/hard is it to get an exemption

    m

Extremely difficult. My friend couldn't sail with an unvaccinated 12 year old with a legit doctor exemption because RCI medical team didn't approve it. To make matters worse, the answer came after final payment and they ended up not traveling and getting a credit instead of a refund.

We were on the Anthem of the Seas and returned to Bayonne, NJ Friday, December 24, 2021.  When we got to the parking lot our van would not start.  The battery was dead.  I want to THANK the gentleman parked next to us and the woman from Pennsylvania.  The gentleman immediately got out of his car and offered to help.  We asked several people if they had jumper cables and a kind woman said she had some in her truck.  With the help of these two kind people, we were able to get our van started and made our trip home without a problem.  A warning to those parking in the lot in Bayonne. The lot can not help you.  Make sure you have jumper cables with you.  THANK YOU to the man and woman who helped us!

Happy New Year to all, see you on the next cruise.

Good to hear you found good people to help you. I love when I come across people like you who openly thank somebody for a great action. I think there is more good than bad in the world but some time people give more attention to the bad. Happy New Year!!!

Extremely rare apparently.  We were on a b2b on HOTS that started on 28 Nov and in those two weeks I never saw a single adult that didn't have a wrist band.  And the majority of kids were wearing them too. But, there were only about 80-90 kids on each week.  I do wonder how many exceptions there have really been.

They have been extremely careful granting those exceptions. I personally know somebody who applied for one for a 12 year old who has legit medical documented reasons for not getting the vaccine and it was denied by the medical team who review the paperwork.

I'd booked a 6 night cruise for my son and I for his 5th birthday, he's slated to turn 5 while we're on board and can't be vaccinated before the trip. We're going to Roatan, Costa Maya, and Cozumel. I logged in today to see that we can't even leave the ship unless we're on an excursion now? Can I essentially buy my way off with an excursion and then we can go explore, or are we going to have to be on the boat or an excursion the entire time? I'm not interested in spending 6 days on the boat, but having to be on constant excursions when we're not onboard sounds exhausting and miserable for both of us, not to mention expensive. I feel awful because he's super excited about the trip, but I'm starting to wonder if I should just cancel. It would be his first cruise and I've only been on two prior to this (music cruises and I didn't do any excursions, just wandered towns) so I'm out of my depth here, I'd be super grateful if those with more experience could weigh in!

We have been cruising/traveling with our children since they were really young. Each age has challenges and rewards. Don't let the challenges distract you from the wonders of seeing the world through your son's eyes. Covid has changed a lot of things and right now we don't know what will happen tomorrow. I recommend one of the 3 night cruises that go to Coco Cay. You can have a beach day with your son and stay on the ship on Nassau. He will really enjoy the island without a need for a tour. If you want to make a longer holiday leave out of Port Canaveral and take him to Disney/Universal for a couple of extra days. He will have an unforgettable birthday!

Hi everyone, I hope you are ok. Preparing our cruises out of Florida ( Fort Lauderdale and Miami ) for next month

check in went ok but I get the message Vaccination : there is an issue with your vaccination record.

Being from Belgium / Europe our vaccination proof is the EU DIGITAL COVID CERTIFICATE
we had our booster shot last week so we are more than fully vaccinated.
first shot was May 17 second shot was Juli 21 and our booster shot was December 15
I have a vaccination certificate for all 3 shots and applied online the 3th one so our booster shot ( because it says shot 3/3 )

We also have booked an antigeentest at our home port airport Brussels Airport before we leave and esta and pasport are updated

what more can we do than hope we can enter for the first time since covid the US.

Before i contact RCI is there anyone who can ease my mind cause we are worried now we will not be allowed onboard.

Thank you for your time to get back to me, have an amazing day.

Hi, I had a similar issue and was asked to resend the vaccination record. It was approved the second time. 'Im vaccinated in the US so I don't know if that makes a difference. I recommend you call them and ask.

We did online check-in a couple of days ago and it never asked for our vaccination cards. Is it supposed to ask for a picture? It only said to bring them to the pier.

It seems there are different versions of the app or it varies depending on the departure port. Maybe Florida is different? This is a sceeenshot of my app

Anyone have any experience with adventure ocean on freedom in the recent months or weeks?

hearing that it’s pretty bad - just want to know what I’m in for

    Thanks!

My son really liked it in October. He is 11 y/o. He played until midnight every night and there was plenty of kids with him in the late night party. Let me know if you have specific question and I'll ask him.

I have seen so many posters say this exact same thing.  Each of them said they just showed it at port check-in and had zero issues in doing so.  This is on Celebrity, Royal and NCL lines.

That's my last resource. I'm really afraid of a problem at the Port. I will need to get there early so that I have time to deal with the issue as it seems there is a lot of people with the same issue.

Might it be a technical issue?  Maybe the image did not transmit properly or the focus was suboptimal? Alternatively, is all info on the card complete (such as dates of shots, lot numbers, and date of birth)?  Any spelling errors or transposed numbers?

I'm thinking the same thing. We had no issue in October. Now I was told they are only reviewing once a week and obviously not really looking into it.

If collect any additional info possible, like can you request the records from the state?  And then just not worry about it.

Not that simple in Florida. It is easier when you take the vaccine with a private provider but directly with the government like we did is a problem.

Not a single issue with the card. I used it for another cruise in October and it was approved in 24 hrs. I also sent cards for other family members and they all got approved.

  14. Hi, we will be sailing on Independence of the Seas leaving on 12/31. I did my Check in on the app on Monday and this morning woke up to the app saying that my vaccination card is invalid and they couldn't verify it. I sailed in October with no issue with the card. I called RCI and they asked a million questions and asked to resend the card through the app. They said that they are only reviewing cards once a week and I will get an answer late next week. They said that if I don't get an answer I need to wait till embarkation day and sort it out at the Port. A couple of other family members noticed the same issue this morning. There was no notification from RCI and we just found out by checking the app.

The port part is making me nervous as we know how that can go. Have anybody had this issue?

PS: My card is 100% valid and legit and wa done at a government vaccination site.

  16. I'm all confused with having access to certain places with an unvaccinated child and hopefully somebody can help me understand. We are a family of 4: husband, 16 yo daughter and I are vaccinated but 11 yo son is not. We will be sailing on Freedom of the Seas on 10/22. It is my understanding that my son can't access certain places (most are places that he was not going to go any ways). However, can I go to to places marked as vaccinated only when he is not with me? Is the unvaccinated status per person or for the entire party? I called RC and was told that it was for the entire party which makes me "unvaccinated" for the purposes of accessing vaccinated only places because of his status.

I just hope that it is per person and husband and I can have some much needed nightlife. Thank you in advance!!!
