  1. Hi,

Just booked a last minute cruise Dec. 1-8 on NCL Joy.  Arriving 10:00 am the day before sailing, and leaving 7:45 pm on the 8th.  Soooo was thinking I should try to get in some Christmas shopping.  Any suggestions on where to book the hotel the night before, and what we can do with bags etc for all those hours until our flight?  I would do some kind of excursion if I got my shopping in pre-cruise, but I don't want to sit on a bus and look at the LA sights.  Or, I could Christmas shop after the cruise if I have somewhere to store my bags.  Any ideas?

    Thanks!

  2. Every time I login to Carnival's website they follow up by calling me. I'm just browsing and don't want to be called! This morning they woke up the family at 8:15 AM! I suppose now I have to CALL THEM and get my info removed. Do they do this to everyone? I find it's borderline harassment.

  3. I am not sure that all the cruises are set yet for 2016 so I'm not surprised that you don't see 2017 cruises!!

    It's a bit early!!

No airline or hotel would have prices set yet for that far out so not sure why you'd expect a cruise line to be able to do that either??

Didn't say I expected it, just curious if the cruises that already are showing are all of them. Yes, it's early, but trying to plan for 50-100 people so lead time is important.

  4. Hi,

just booked the Eastern Caribbean on Sept.28th. I'm wondering if there are convenient places to get free Wifi when in port?

Also, I've read conflicting reports about the wifi speeds onboard. Any recent experiences? I'd like to be able to check in with my kids at home once in a while without it costing an arm and a leg!

    Thanks!

  5. Hi, we are doing a Carnival Conquest cruise Sept 27-Oct. 5th, out of Miami. I'm booking flights now. Carnival said minimum of noon for flights out of FLL. I found one for 12:10 pm. We are flying home to Canada, so I usually allow two hours at the airport prior to departure. Is this a reasonable amount of time? It's a Sunday so I figured no real traffic, but ports should be busier?

    Any advice appreciated! Tks! :)

  6. Thank you to everyone who replied. Mum decided not to do this cruise at this time for all the reasons I mentioned...lack of time to plan, expense, and uncertainty about the stamina needed to do it. Instead, we will celebrate in the Caribbean. (She's turning 80) Yes, been there, done that (the Caribbean I mean!) but it's cheap and it's the company that counts, right?! :)

    Thanks again!

  7. Hi,

My parents would like to go on a cruise, and my sister and I would accompany them. This has come up last minute so we are scrambling. We are considering NCL Epic Sept. 21 (yes, next month!!) Med cruise, with ports: Barcelona, Naples, Rome, Florence/Pisa, Cannes, Palma de Mallorca. Here's the issue...my parents are 80 and 81, and cannot do extensive walking. Mum was thinking she could just get off the ship and putter around, much as she's done for Caribbean, Alaska, Mexico and Northern Europe. I know that Rome is a ways away and would take a guided tour. She doesn't usually want tours due to the expense and rigidity. If she feels tired she wants to be able to walk back to the ship. So other than Rome, are these ports suitable to just walk off the ship and see the sights? Or are they ugly industrial areas?

Thanks for any input. I am researching, but we are in such a rush to book something!
