  1. Hey everyone!

We're planning on Mardi Gras for Feb 11-18 and we had a couple questions before we pull the trigger:

    1. How much is the thermal spa access for the week?
    2. What is the cost of internet access for 1 device each (2 total)? Are there tiers or is there only 1 package? How is the internet speed/reliability in the Caribbean for the Mardi Gras?
    3. We're planning on booking the Ocean Suite and we're wondering if we are able to plug in a Nintendo Switch to one of the TVs. We might be brining our 10 year old niece and, in preparation for curfews, we want to have something for her to do later at night when most things turn adult focused (it's for us also but no one needs to know 😛 ).

phych. i hope you are not disappointed with these answers, the club balcony perks (imho) are not overwhelming. remember its just called a "suite". Just a renamed mini-suite. you dont get any of the perks that come with the real suites or the havens.

I don't mind if nothing is included with this room. However, I am frustrated with things advertised as included and not being there.

  3. I was looking at a list of amenities and I was wondering a couple things.

    1) Are the treats a daily thing or just a one time offering?

    2) Is the valet laundry/pressing service automatic when you have laundry sent out?

    3) Where can you find the coffee and tea setup menu/location? Is this something you order by cup via room service?

Sorry to hear that.  What was minimum and what did you bid?  Still should be a fabulous time.

We bid as close to "Fair" as I could get it for all Haven rooms except basic (all prices are per person):

$2,510 Haven Deluxe Owner's Suite with Large Balcony (H2)

$1,570 Haven 2-Bedroom Family Villa with Balcony (H6)

$1,200 Haven Aft-Facing Penthouse with Large Balcony (HB)

$1,850 Haven 2-Bedroom Family Villa with Large Balcony (H5)

$1,130 Haven Aft-Facing Penthouse with Balcony (HC)

I don't remember what the minimums were unfortunately.

  5. We're planning NCL Encore for Alaska that embarks July 31. Ports will be Juneau, Skagway, and Ketchikan. In our researching for the cruise, we've run across several videos of the insane amount of mosquitos that are there. My wife is a magnet for mosquitos and is also highly allergic. Are mosquitos a problem for our planned ports?

Looks like that's an e-chart type of result.  Does it give you an option somewhere to "download your results" as a PDF of some sort?  If so, that page probably has all the necessary info on one page, including your name, DOB, and lab name/contact info.

Unfortunately there's no download option of any kind. The page given is just text saying the result. There's a "Test Results" button, but it just shows the attached picture.

I don't mind going somewhere else, but the upcoming subsidized Covid tests make me worry about availability.

  7. EDIT:

Just found the information on RCs testing page

    • You must receive a valid results document from your test provider that includes the name of the lab that processed the test, the lab’s CLIA Lab Number or Certification Number, the address of the lab, your name, the date the test was taken, type of test, and your negative result. This can be a printed document, email, or telehealth app notification. Fully handwritten doctor’s notes (such as those written on a prescription pad) will not be accepted. Minimal handwritten components (such as a check mark on a “negative” box) are acceptable as long as the other required information is printed on the document.

Unfortunately it looks like I'll need to pay for a test since there's no lab information. Leaving post up in case anyone else has a similar inquiry.

    ---------------------------------------

I work at a college that offers testing for free for the purpose of clearing students to come on campus. I did a test run of the Covid testing and the info provided doesn't give too much detail, as shown in the picture. Do you guys know if this is sufficient for pre cruise testing?

  8. We're planning a back to back cruise - disembarking Royal Caribbean in Miami, staying a night at Hilton Miami Downtown, then getting on Norwegian the next day. How would you go about attacking your laundry?

    • Do it day before disembarkation on Royal Caribbean
    • Have laundry done at Hilton Miami (hoping for same day or morning pickup)
    • Do laundry on Norwegian (will plan for a couple days clean clothes)

I have found the condition of taxis in Miami to be somewhat below good. Car service is more expensive but yields a nicer and safer ride.

This is why we're going the car service route, that and just wanted to try it out to see how it goes.

Does anyone know what time NCL boats typically finish disembarking at Miami?

  10. Doing a 7 day cruise on the NCL Encore from Miami. Flight out from MIA is 145p.

I'm planning to book Blacklane to take us to the airport on disembarkation day but I'm not sure what time to book for. If we have an earlier disembarkation time and I book pickup for 10am (just as an example), would we be able to linger on the ship until our pickup time?

Also, I'm not familiar at all with the Port of Miami. Are pickups done where the ship docks, or are pickups routed to another area?
