  1. We were in Playa Uvas last Thurs. Jan.6th. taxidriver charged us $22 for a van:D, Carmen welcomed us by name then introduced us to the wait staff and our snorkel guide. We decided to snorkel around noon. Our guide Jonathan was in the water with us and another guide in the kayak which made it easy for them to keep track of all of us, I saw lots of colorfull fish and some barracuda a huge lobster and beautiful sea horses, our waiter Alex was fantastic and really watched to see if our glass was getting low. We all had fish filet for lunch and they were very good and tasty! Of all the drinks we had, this time the mango daiquiri was our favorite :p. It was definetly the best day we had on the cruise. Thanks Eduardo, Carmen and the rest of the staff at Playa Uvas! we'll back for sure!;)

  2. Thanks everybody for the tips & suggestions given; we didn’t know what daypass to choose and Eduardo e-mailed me back all the answers to our questions, he was so patient and helpful to make our decision. At the end, we chose a package and he got back with our confirmations. Thanks a lot Eduardo!!! :)

At last, we got to Cozmel and Playa Uvas, it was a little bit late because we were on vacation and it means waking up later than usual! We didn’t have any problem getting there and Carmen was waiting for us. She was so nice and introduced us to the staff, (there is a guy whose name is Teebo (sp?), a good looking Frenchman, he told us he had just started working in Uvas the week before!).

Uvas is definitley OK and very clean; one thing you notice immediatelly is they really take care of the gardens, I had read in the cruise boards that somebody had said Uvas was so primitive; I don’t know what they meant, because I saw all kinds of services and even music speakers! (LOL). I really liked the place realized it is very different to other beaches I've visitedt, but specially I liked the staff who was very friendly!

Teebo gave us a nice beachfront shaded bed, then Raoul, our waiter, came and asked if we wanted something alcohol free to drink before the tours, after this, we proceeded to dress up for the water.

I don’t want to say more than what everybody has written, so bottom line, everything was very good! After the kayak tour we went to see Luz, and as you all have said, her massages are delicious! I just have one complaint, I had asked Eduardo for a 60 min massage for me and one for my husband with Luz and I don’t know why but my husband was not attended by Luz, he got the massage from another therapist girl.

As shopping goes, I also bought some very nice glass fusion necklaces for myself and some presents for friends. The food was very good and the margaritas and mango daiquiris were absolutely better!!! :D

Suddenly, it was 3 PM, time to go back to the ship, so, we said good bye to Carmen, Raoul, Teebo and Luz and got in the cab that was waiting to take us back.

The next time we go back to Cozumel we definitely visit Uvas again!!! :D

  3. hello!

just in case someone is waiting for my uvas review... i've been so busy upon my return, and it has taken me a little bit to finish it, hope tonight or tomorrow it will be ready and posted it!

    regards!:D

  4. I'm trying to figure out how to post this:

    Playa Uvas Fish Filet Plate

served with papas fritas (fried potato wedges), or steamed rice, and steamed veggies.

    Yum!

    stircrzy,

thanks! we already saw the photo and it looks great! now there is no way he doesn't want to go to uvas! as a matter of fact, he already accepted i call Eduardo to get our reservation, so, i'll be there next may!!! :D

    regards!

  5. The fish was very tasty, and the portion was large. It was served with a scoop of rice and cooked perfectly steamed vegetables. I declined the garlic butter sauce, but I bet that's good, too!

I will try to post a photo when I track down my cousin and get her to email me one!

If your hubby likes fish, he'll like that dish...very fresh fish!

    stircrzy,

thank you very much for the info! i hope you can get the photo, that way, i'm pretty sure my husband will certainly be happy in uvas! :)

  6. hi stircrzy!

I'm planning to be in uvas by may (looking forward for it!!!), since my husband is a little bit picky with meals, I need you to let me know how was the fish you had in there; it will help me to convince him uvas will be great!!! :D

    thanks a lot!

Most of us didn't bring/wear our bathing suits, and were full to popping from our bountious lunch. Those who brought suits went to put them on. I started to grab my camera to take photos of the Newlyweds when I heard music...and clapping.

After taking a few bows to nobody, I realized another "new" thing at Uvas...

    New #3:

    Dancing waiters! :D

At first I was a little dismayed...my beloved Playa Uvas becoming "just another Cozumel beach club"?!? My worries quickly left me as my OLD FOLKS began hootin' and hollerin' and clapping along. Cute, cute waiters, dancing a line dance with whomever of the crowd wanted to join in. One tune only, and nothing provocative, just a few inexperienced wiggles and lots of giggles.

Certainly a "G" rated act...immensely enjoyed by all ages. Another good idea, especially for spring and summer crowds.

  7. Edczm,

Sorry I had not replied but due to Thxgvng I went out of town for some days but thank you very much for your kindest response!

    Looking forward being in Cozumel!

    Jabi

  8. I would like to know, what is the entrance fee? We're looking for something quiet and relaxing and uvas sounds like the perfect place...

    Thanks for your reply!
