  1. Hi. I am def doing the trip insurance, that is not the question. I have used it in the past. And for personal reasons, I may never know if I would have to use it again.

That being said I have always assumed to use the insurance provided to me. In this case, through NCL. After reading the posts, I have started researching insuremytrip.com. Do any of those policies offer 100% resinbursed trip cancellation? I don't see that option.

Also, any recommendations as to which insurer you all used?

Thank you for the advice. I only hve a day or two left to make the switch!

  2. Most Bermuda beaches aren't heavily developed. Basically sand and water and rocks. All beautiful! Some, including Horseshoe Bay, have food/beverages/bathrooms/umbrella rentals/etc., but many are more or less undeveloped.

Snorkel Park, which is very close to the cruise ship dock, is the only one I can think of that sounds like what you're looking for.

There's also Blue Hole Water Sports, but I've no personal experience with them.

Thank you both for your help.

  3. Great thread!! What day is the fireworks? What is the best location to view them and what time should we get there to get a good spot?

Also, can you please share more info on the martini / margarita tasting?

Lastly, seating at the pool- we would have to grab a chair near the children’s pool, bc we have two little ones… where is this in relation to the live band and entertainment?

    Thanks, so excited!!

  4. it's the same price just about... we have an aft mini suite booked on the gem. and a mini suite on hold on the breakaway. it comes out to the same price. to be honest I am sad we wouldn't have the large balcony:( but I would rather give up a bigger balcony for better weather.

I understand the first day would be chilly, I am more concerned about day 2 at sea, would that be warm? and would be very upset to say the least, to spend all this money to have cold weather. I am on a budget, and so that is why I am booking May/ June cruises.

as far as ports, not in love with port carnavel, but would do like bahamas. I've heard mixed reviews about Breakaway being too big, not enough space, balconies in the cabins too small, etc. but Bermuda does sound lovely.

  5. Would like to take my family (two children under 5) away this summer... and torn. Gem from NY to Bahamas in May, or Breakaway from NY to Bermuda in June.

    Gem-

Major concern would be weather at sea from NY in May, would it be too cool that first day at sea?

    Breakaway-

Is the boat too packed? cabins too small?

    Has anyone done both itineraries?
