I was in an Ocean View cabin on the Prima. Deck 5, directly under the Casino. The cabin was very quiet. During the day I did hear a little creaking but didn’t notice it at all at night. And what I heard during the day wasn’t annoying, just a little unusual. The cabin was large, including the bathroom. It took a little longer to become comfortable with the layout on decks 6-7-8 but I didn’t hate it, it was just different than most ships.
I do agree that the buffet was small but we didn’t go there much. Indulge was always crowded but we managed to get seats when we went. We had no wait when going to the MDR. We even got a spur of the moment reservation at Onda one night.
My only complaint was that there were 1,200 kids on my sailing. I would never cruise on Prima again during the summer or school breaks and that’s unfortunate because it really is better for warm weather cruising.
I'm looking at booking an Oceanview cabin on Deck 5 on the Prima, it makes me a little nervous because of what's above it on the 6th Floor (Theater & Club, Casino, Cagney's, and Commodore Room), but sounds like at least the Casino area wasn't noisy. What was your cabin number? We might try to get one close to yours since you had a good experience.
Anyone else have experience on staying on Deck 5 that might help us pick a good cabin on the Prima? Thanks!

Thanks for the information! We are leaving out of NYC and ending in Quebec so looks like that is the better route to handle NCL air and transfers.
We want to arrive a day early so sounds like transfer fees will be refunded (is that only refunded for the NYC part of the trip?), but then we still want to use NCL transfer to the Quebec airport when our cruise finishes.

sometimes though, it may be cheaper to get a cab at the airport, or arrange private transportation (shuttle service) this works especially well, if youre flying in early and staying in a hotel.
I've been wondering about how this works so was wondering if you could explain a bit more. I'm using NCL Air for the first time on a NYC Fall cruise and had to pay for their transportation. We'll be coming in a day early. Do they not cover transportation to your hotel if you are arriving a day early? We depart from Quebec City so I can understand just getting on one of the shuttle buses to the airport, but was unclear how it worked arriving the day before. Thanks!

Would someone from an Encore sailing to the Caribbean on either 1/15 or currently there on 1/22 sailing mind posting the dailies from the cruise?
We will be on that sailing this Sunday and would love to see what the week activities look like, such as nights for entertainment and such.
Thanks in advance!

Great news, thanks for sharing! We'll be on that ship in the same port in 2 weeks and are really hoping it will be in Taino Bay instead of Amber Cove. Our plan for the day is to just explore Puerto Plata instead of doing an excursion so that will make things much more convenient to be docked there.

The steak in Le Bistro now has an upcharge with the new menu.
That disappointing, I actually preferred the filet mignon in Le Bistro over Cagney's. Thanks for the heads up.
Edit: just looked up the menu and at least it's only a $10 upcharge, which isn't too bad.

Thanks for the replies! Would love to hear from anyone that's cruising this month to see what the promos are like.

Last NCL cruise I was on in summer 2022, the CruiseNext desk had a 10% off future cruises offer.
Just curious if they have been offering that lately. Have a cruise later this month on the Encore so might book some future ones if they still have the promo going on.

Looks like a New England/Canada sailing I'm on in September now has the extra points offer, but the reservation I did for it last summer doesn't show the code. Anyone know if you can ask NCL to add the promo to your previous booking?

Our September 25 trip this year was too early but it was due to summer drought. It’s very hard to guess. The last time we did that date the colors were glorious. The later you go, the colder touring will be.
Good to know, thanks for the info!

Thanks for your reviews. How were the fall colors for each of your sailing dates? We are scheduled to do a Canada & New England 10 day cruise next year on Sept 25th, but I'm a little worried it will be a little early for fall colors based on what I'm reading from other people's sailings this year.

Thanks so much for posting your trip experience! We are sailing on the Breakaway in a couple of weeks so great to hear from someone who sailed on the ship recently.

Looks like Dawn, Joy, and Escape got added to the list, extended out the January date for the Getaway, and pulled in the dates on some of the ships that were farther out dates, does sound about right?

We are a party of 8 scheduled for the Encore out of Miami on Jan 30th and I don't think we will be going, unless the current surge goes quickly, like what happened in South Africa (was only a month).

Considering Prima next November for my return to cruising, am I better off with Breakaway?

Thanks so much! Looks like that's next to the entrance for the stairs and elevators. Did you notice any noise problems coming from that area or from higher foot traffic by your cabin?
