Who ever in Regent management that made the decision that only concierge level and above receive a tote bag which clearly is marked Regent cruise lines needs to retake both Marketing 101 and Advertising 101 - I'm believe they either skipped or slept through those classes.

I am surprised there was no special token for sailing the maiden voyage - yet again reinforces my above statement

  2. Good morning,

You won't see me getting off the ship with a tote bag. 🤣 I'm on the Grandeur now. I did anticipate that for the inaugural cruise ( which is what we were sold over a year ago and then they conveniently added Venice in front) would have  some special gift of remembrance for Everyone!

I am not  Concierge level. We are already booked for this ship in Feb. I guess I'll have to bring one of my Crystal bags.

Probably the usual grumbles, but combined, it's enough to make you wonder... expectations track along with prices, and Regent is not inexpensive.  Hearing about deck space/chair hog issues (is this ever fixable!?), concerns about availability of meals if arriving from shore excursions mid afternoon, just little things, really.  I am thoroughly warned though of the shore excursions department which sounds abominable, really.

We were able to secure spots in all of our desired excursions by being "on the ball" but I hope they are also good experiences.  There seems to be some tension about activity levels and it sounds as though some more active participants were underwhelmed by the activity levels, while participants who may have mobility concerns were pushed too far or not well accommodated.

    Omg! Are there STILL

chair 🐖? That seems Impossible that there would be  a food shortage ? We are back on in Feb,hope we're not  sorry! Thanks for the heads up!

When I was a kid my family was relocating from Germany back to the states per Army transfer. A stewardess gave me a set of Pan Am wings to wear on my shirt. When I showed up on the next flight (non Pan Am) the new flight attendant saw my wings and offered me a different pair to represent the new airline (can’t remember which). Perhaps I will bring my Celebrity tote bag since our category isn’t eligible for the Regent tote…worked when I was a kid!  🙂

    Great idea!

  5. Considering our 1st Viking ocean cruise go Hawaii 1/25.

Wine included with lunch and dinner only.

    No champagne 😭

But it sounds like you are free to bring your own alcohol on board ? With no corkage  fee? We were crystal creatures and now about to try regent seven seas Grandeur.

    Will we LOVE VIKING?

    Thank you.

Very good, but you have to be able to stand for 2* hours at the cooking station and at the chefs demonstration counter. There are no stools allow at the cooking stations. On the Splendor there were a few stools at the back of the room but you could not move them…. Had to watch the demonstrations on the overhead TV.

    That's no fun.

Put your phone on airplane mode and then in settings enable wi-fi calling. This will let you make/receive calls over the internet.
Will need some kind of plan for off the ship like at the airport.
I would think any calling on the ship phone would be some kind of urgent need.

Thank you! with that being said, what about internet availability and cost? many people have suggested "whatsapp" for internet calling.

The last dress code post mostly addressed what the gents wear. Let’s talk about the ladies, shall we? I’ll be on my first Regent cruise shortly and I’m a little worried about not fitting in. Am I expected to wear palazzo pants and an Alex Evenings blouse every single evening lest I be looked down upon as a “scruff”? Or are dressy wide leg pants and a nice blouse (think Sunday brunch attire) acceptable? I’m stressing out about this. Any advice would be appreciated.

We have always had at least 1 formal night but now ...  I don't think that's the case .So totally don't stress! I have a special dress that was my mothers, I wear it on every cruise! A perfect outfit is always one that YOU feel great in.

  9. Barcelona to Miami. I am wondering if I can make additional dining reservations for same restaurant? It appears if I do it will cancel my existing reservation.

Also, I thought there was a fee to go to specialty restaurants but I don't see that listed. Room service must be available from all restaurants? How is room service?

    Thank you !

We are on the Splendor t/a on Nov. 20th.  Received our luggage tags in the mail today in a plain whlte

envelope with our cruise details.  That's it!!!!  No leather (?) name tags, not that we need them, nothing.

When we did our first Regent just prior to covid we were so excited to get this lovely leather like envelope with

leather name tags and our luggage tags, etc.  Then it became paper like folder and now it is just a plain

envelope.  Very disappointed....Not that we Need any of these things, just makes you feel a bit special.

If Regent wants to cut back, fine, but at least for the first time Regent crusers please make them feel

special, which is what Regent is supposed to be.  Hopefully the cut backs don't carry over.  As of now,, we

still love Regent.  Mary & Bill

I TOTALLY agree! 1st cruise on Regent/ Grandeur. I expected a travel / document case equal to the experience they are selling. I thought it interesting that they don't want the luggage  tags on until you arrive at your destination 🤔 the tags wouldn't survive a light rain, let alone a flight! It makes me nervous  😓

Just bring your own (or the one you received on your last cruise) and leave the new/unused one hanging up in the closet for the next guest.  That's what we do.

What a great idea! I have only been on Crystal so no one wants  those  totes lol

I love your idea and I will do it! God knows no one needs another tote bag but..🤣

Hey, if you like MERCH....join the onboard activities to earn Regent Reward Points to exchange for "Regent Merch" at the end of your voyage!  Check out PASSAGES every day for activities.

Can I do that online or wait on board? Just starting to dig into the Cruise so thanks!

They were available on our recently-completed Explorer voyage.  As you said, concierge & above.  Concierge and above also has an in-suite coffee/espresso maker which I would LOVE to have in just the Deluxe Suite.  But I guess they have to differentiate categories with different amenities.

Frankly, I prefer to bring my own bag which is a bit smaller and has an outside water bottle pocket.  Convenient for taking off the ship on shore excursions and hold everything we need.

I TOTALLY agree! EVERYONE likes some "MERCH" LOL  I just received our luggage tags and I better be careful not to get caught in the rain LOL, so flimsy they will disincarnate. I guess gone are the days of Document books and beautiful luggage tags!

I've booked a lot on Regent, over 5,000 nights, including being Titanium myself, and I would NEVER book without deviation. It is the best money you can spend due to the complete mess the airlines are in. Not only will you have access to your preferred flights, but if you buy through Regent, they will back you up and help you get to the ship in the event of an emergency. Who wants to go on an expensive cruise only to arrive at the ship stressed and tired due to multiple connections or other nonsense?

      Good morning,

Took your advice.. Now HAPPY with flights, seats etc. With your vast cruising experience, what are your thoughts on the War going on in regards to a cruise? So EXCITED but nervous now.

    See you onboard!

  15. Good morning,

This is our 1st sailing with regent seven seas. The Grandeur/ Barcelona to Miami November 25th.

We were loyal Crystal Cruisers. We are having some difficulty with our flights, booked Cruise  through  American  Express Platinum.Regent charges $75.00 to speak to the flight department! Really? I've NEVER heard of such a thing. Thoughts?  Thank you!

  16. Good morning, We were faithful Crystal cruisers until you know what.. For now, we are headed over to Regent Seven seas and Going on the new ship the Grandeur in November. I called regarding the pool temperature to make sure during five days at sea I would be able to enjoy the pool. I was told the pool would be kept between seventy and seventy five! Why bother filling it? The daytime temperature in Barcelona will be about sixty five. I would appreciate anyone's comments on their pool experiences and expectations.

    Thank you!
