You know that they changed it for safety and security right?

to quote princess themselves that is not the reason they cancelled. they cancelled because there was more commercial interest elsewhere. the almighty dollar more important than their customers who i hope will never spend a dollar with them again. they're doing bad business and they should be called out for it.

We have all dealt with cruise cancellations because of valid concerns but the measure of the company is how they try and ease the impact to their 'valued' customers. JMHO

agree. most companies are doing some sort of cancellation and princess has treated its customers the worst. NCL is giving 10% off for future cruises as a token acknowledgement of how hard this is on those who already booked flights and hotels. it's just by comparison, i wouldn't sail with princess again. and my TA agrees.

    "VOYAGE REDEPLOYMENT - APRIL 9, 2022 - ENCHANTED PRINCESS

Please be advised that due to deployment changes, your 25-day Scandinavia & Baltic Grand Adventure voyage on Enchanted Princess departing Saturday, April 9, 2022 will now be a 25-day Scandinavia & Western Europe Passage and will end in Southampton (London), UK rather than Copenhagen on Wednesday, May 4.

i can't believe they're changing this trip so drastically without giving you the option to cancel.

  4. our may 15th baltic cruise is cancelled. this is insane. we already have our flights and hotels booked. when NCL canceled on us, they at least gave us 10% discounts on future cruises and $250 credit. and because of that, we booked two more NCL cruises. again, we will NEVER sail with princess again.

    VOYAGE CANCELLATION - ENCHANTED PRINCESS
Please be advised that due to commercial considerations related to this ship's full season of Baltic cruises coupled with stronger demand for
cruising from the UK, we have made the difficult decision to cancel your upcoming voyage on Enchanted Princess.
You have the options of receiving a Future Cruise Credit of 100% of the amount paid to Princess or requesting a full refund of all monies paid.
To advise us of your choice and see full details, please visit https://www.princess.com/pcl/ by April 15, 2022, after which any undecided
bookings will receive the 100% Future Cruise Credit option. For more details, and more information regarding your options, please visit https://
    *****/3CJelcb.
We apologize for any disappointment this may cause and look forward to welcoming you on board a future Princess cruise.
Thank you for your attention to this notification.

They have the Cruise with Confidence which refunds your money up until 30 days before the cruise. You can also purchase cruise insurance, one of which is Princess Vacation Protection which will insure you through the cruise.

this is not true. they will take percentage of it and give it to you as FCC, which for personal reasons we cannot use. you also cannot purchase cruise insurance past a certain date. when russia invaded ukraine we are already past our final payment date because we are leaving on an earlier sailing. so we absolutely cannot get the refund you got because we are in a different situation, but i'm glad you are able to cancel.

It would seem if we have negative PCR test while at home, Chicago for me, within 72 hours we should  be ok to board, or don't require first test and take test at airport upon arrival.

requirements for Abu Dhabi is different from Dubai. In Abu Dhabi, to enter any businesses you need to have been tested in the UAE within 14 days if you are vaccinated.

NOTHING is needed to go off the ship in Abu Dhabi and SBY, just your cruise card. Download and set up the Careem app before your trip, you probably will need it in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

do we need testing to enter businesses (or getting the green pass on the Al hosn app)?

I didn't look at UAE rules but if the waiver of the covid test requirement only occurs if you have a QR code, then the test would still apply to Americans because our CDC vaccination cards do not include a QR code. QR codes is a European thing.

you can generate a QR code for your vaccine on the CDC website.

  9. just saw someone post that NCL has not only replaced all port days with port days, but they are also refunding 20% of people's fares on baltic cruises. meanwhile, my TA said that princess will not budge on cancellations or changes (will charge a hefty fee) even though we are losing a day and a half of port days. and of course princess is not lowering fares.

this process has really opened my eyes to how, out of the major cruiselines, princess has done the least for their customers. and will not sail with them again.

I noticed that with our August sailing. I have been wondering if the price will go down now that a major port that many people booked to see has been removed. I’m definitely going to keep an eye on prices.

i just got a notification from shipmate that our may 15th rate has gone done 25%. but does princess make refunds due to lowered rates?

Can you point me in the direction of the official information from RCI?  Thanks.

Additionally, if we do end up changing your itinerary, we’ll offer you the opportunity to cancel for a full refund. If you have any questions or wish to move to a new ship and sail date, please feel free to contact Celebrity Cruises at 1-844-418-6824 in North America or (316) 554-5961 worldwide.

RC is sending out the same email since it owns celebrity.

When you booked you agreed to the passage contract.

yes when i booked there is also an expectation that they would try to make this vacation comparable to what is advertised. right now it isn't and there is no option to cancel without penalties. is this a legal practice? for now in the US yes. but not in some other countries where this is considered an illegal practice. is it ethically right? imho no. i think the cruiseline has an obligation to give what it advertised and if it can't, it should allow the customer to cancel. there are laws in the US against untruthful advertising practices like bait and switch.

I don't believe Princess has any obligation to give OBC to compensate for lost port days. This is certainly something beyond their control. They are doing the best they can to respond to changing world conditions.

i agree they are totally free to screw up their customers' vacations as they like. but they can also choose to make it seem less terrible. contractually, they don't have to go to any ports. is it a good business practice that will ensure repeat business and company loyalty? heck no. do i believe they're doing their "best"? no. because there ARE other cruiselines (royal carribean and celebrity) that ARE giving their customers the option to cancel without any penalties. so no they're not doing their best and they should be called out for it.

Is anyone happy with the substitution of Gdańsk? Not sure Poland will be safe if there’s a no fly zone order imposed over Ukraine. Princess should be giving OBC in addition to adding a port. Thoughts???

i do agree. it might not be in their power to add more ports. but it is in their power to give OBC to compensate us for the lost port days. also aren't we charged for port fees? shouldn't we be at least refunded that if we don't sail into a port?

  15. for our may 15th sail on enchanted princess, we are also getting an overnight in stockholm and in addition to that, one day in visby. i'm not so crazy about visby. seems like a typical small european port town with old buildings. but excited for the overnight in stockholm. anyone been to either?
