Still haven't booked yet, but based on everyone's feedback, I think we're going to stay an extra night to eliminate any chances of missing the flight. That would be a disastrous end to, hopefully, a wonderful cruise vacation! :cool:

Ok, thanks to everyone's input, we've decided to stay an extra night just to be safe and to not feel rushed. As it turned out, our airfare savings will be more than the cost of extra night of hotel...:D

What have you decided you will do as to flying home?

The general feedback from both boards is it's doable, but risky. Have to do self-disembark at 7 AM with a car waiting.at the Port. We're looking at other options, but this will be the fall back.

 

We're planning to fly out right away because we already have a pre-cruise vacation in Rome.

We booked a Concierge Class cabin in our upcoming Reflection cruise in July. Not sure why, but it was cheaper than a regular veranda cabin when we made our reservation. It'll be our first cruise on Celebrity, so the priority boarding may be useful. We're looking forward to it. We get to compare it with our prior trips on Disney, Carnival, and Princess...

We'll be going on the Reflection in July. Our cabin is 1079, which is not on this list. I'll for sure send a review after I get back (or while I'm onboard if I can remember, lol).

We're traveling on a Celebrity cruise in July that will end in Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy. The schedule says the ship will arrive at 5 AM. We're trying to book a return flight back to the US. However, we're finding that most flights are in the morning with only a few choices after 12 PM. For those who have taken Celebrity cruise(s) that ended in Rome, can we book a 11:30 AM flight out of the Rome Airport?

I know the Rome Airport is about an hour ride away from the cruise port, but not sure how long it'll take to get thru Customs and security. I think if we can get off the ship by 8 or 8:30, we should be ok, right? How early can we get off the ship?

Just in the same way that Aqua are the least expensive balcony cabins on our Med cruise (both A1 and A2 are less than even the 2Cs): supply and demand ;). Perhaps initially the balcony cabins were less than Concierge and X sold more of them, thus reducing the inventory they had left. Consequently, up go the price of the fewer balcony cabins left so encouraging pax to book the cheaper concierge cabins (which, at that time, they have more of) ;).

That's what I thought, but why don't the existing Veranda customers upgrade AND get a reduced fare?! It seems to be a no brainer...

I was looking the cabin prices for a Mediterranean cruise and noticed the prices for the Deluxe and Sunset Veranda cabins costing much more than the C3 Concierge class cabins ($100-350 more) Why would that be the case? Don't you get more services with Concierge class and the cabins are at higher levels?

Yes, this recent bombing has us rethink our planned cruise on the Equinox that ends in Istanbul, and we have already planned our flights with 3 days of land time in Istanbul...

If Celebrity change the final destination to some other port, will we get reimbursed for the flight change fees? We didn't book our flights with Celebrity.
