Boarding Regal Princess later this month in Rome. Princess’ website advises that a PCR or antigen is acceptable. Am I correct in assuming that the antigen is administered upon embarkation at the port? And that it is accordingly unnecessary to get a PCR beforehand?
Also, does anyone know what would happen if you tested positive at the port? I assume they would deny you boarding, but I wonder if there is a mandated shoreside quarantine under Italian law?

My partner and I are booked on Regal Princess 9/07-16/07 Rome - Athens. We’ve ordered our Pride Sea Witch medallions!

Hi Jamie
I would suggest finding a game reserve somewhere along the Garden Route. The Addo Elephant National Park is a treasure, and the region along the southern coast of South Africa towards Cape Town is beautiful. You could maybe fly to Port Elizabeth and then self-drive from there to Cape Town, making your way slowly through quite dramatic mountain ranges, valleys, and eventually wine vineyards.

so this trip unfortunately didn’t happen because we both (finally) got COVID. Great timing! 🤣
This meant that obviously we couldn’t board and didn’t even go to the port. Instead, we received a future cruise credit, and we’re now heading on a 8-day Caribbean voyage departing Fort Lauderdale on 3 January. Same ship too - Regal Princess!
Let’s hope this time we make it!
