  1. you said this: -Ocho Rios - For $10 per person (!) We had a guy named Ralph drive us to Dunns River falls, then to shopping and lunch at Mama Marley's for some jerk, then more shopping, then back to the ship.

*I feel the need to point out that all of the warnings about never smoking in Jamaica because they are all out to get you arrested by the "corrupt police" did not apply to us. I jokingly brought up in passing in a shop that I was interested in a little smoke break and he said "No problem". For $10 he sold us a "strip" which is a pre-rolled. This thing was EXCELLENT quality not dirt and lasted so long we had to leave the last bit because we were going to miss our ride back. So for all of the people that know their best friends neighbor's roommate's cousin got hassled by the police for smoking, my first hand account was for sure "No problem"

I say this: "this was the best birthday laugh for me today!!!!" glad you had a great time.... Tahiti

We disembarked with our luggage just after 10 am. With our Platinum status we did receive tags the night before that allowed us to disembark early, but like I said we didn’t need them.

Customs was busy, it took about 30 minutes.

Once outside we walked over to the terminal on our left and the porter put ‘faster to the fun tags’ on the luggage and again we breezed through security with the designated line for Platinum/Diamond. I still had one cooler full of flavored water, diet coke and 2 bottles of wine.

This time security checked all the water bottles, by shaking each one of them. It only took 30 seconds and we were on our way to the VIP lounge.

When we first got there we were directed to the lounge. Within 5 minutes, they called our name to the desk. We obtained our Sail & Sign cards and immediately boarded the ship.

THAT photo of your kids is PRICELESS! My son at that time was just like your son- but now I miss us being on our one and only cruise as he is now in the AirForce....... By the way- I am spending my Sunday morning- afternoon and evening reading your FAB reviews. You have a beautiful family. Thank you for sharing them and your experience with us all!!!

  3. Living in Columbus *Hoorah* and being near Phenix Al. has it's plus. You can drive over the line to catch a movie you may have missed on Georgia time.:D

I am departing Wednesday afternoon to get to our cruise destination prior to Thursday. I still have not packed, begun packing, I am having a heck of a time finding a cute swimsuit, AND I have yet cleaned my house due to so many other things going on. *sheesh*

At any rate- will try and jump on tomorrow sometime or even Wednesday morning. :D

    ciao!

  4. Hello all! I am from Valdosta, GA home of the winningest football team in the nation, the Valdosta High Wildcats!!!!!!!!!! I am down to about 3 weeks to go before I travel to JAX to board Fascination, heading to Nassau & Freeport, Bahamas! This is me & hubby's 2nd cruise & we are going with 8 other relatives.

OMGoodness! :D I lived there most of my life but HAD to leave...Cheeze and Crackerz! I could not stand it any longer. Graduated from Lowndes High many years ago.... <hahahahah> Well, have a great cruise my friend.

    MOMOFMEG:

I am still trying to keep my composure. :pWe are officially in single digit mode. We are leaving out Wednesday the 20th. for Orlando. Staying at the Sleep Inn Suites (think that is the name) at 40.00 something dollars with breakfast. The Management team are awesome as they have been in constant contact to ensure we are taken care of. I rented a car from AVIS to pick up at the airport to drive to the Port. If you sign up online for the e-newsletter you get a coupon for a free upgrade. (I am a single parent so- I have to budget.):D

At any rate- I am Forest Gump RE-ADY!!!!

  5. Dancin Dancin!:D

I had to redo my ship change and that went really smooth! Got an onboard credit! Got my Carnival CD and brochure in the mail a few days ago and I watched it while eating KFC and just in giddy hysterics in anticipation.

NOW- the biggest thrill about all of this, is that the person going with me is my son! My 14 year old has NO IDEA we are doing this! I had him fitted for his tux for formal night and told him it was for a wedding that we were in. <laughs> So- I am trying to make this exciting and James Bondish- Mission Impossible know what I mean? Only I am about to BUST keeping this from him.

Count down to go- 11 Days!:D

  6. *wipes a tear from laughing*

You all, I have not laughed this hard in a loooooong time.... I am still stuck on Bob-Oh and the poor wheelchair lady... Boy do they know how to party...*laughs* Unfortunately I do not have a great cruise story like the ones you all have observed... I do have an airport one though- My mom, brother and I coming back from Germany many years ago. Getting out of the taxi and trying to make a mad dash to the terminal. It was quite windy that day and my mom, was "rocking" this huge Afro Wig which was tossed off of her head by the winds amusement... Her wig was rolling down the curb like a tumbleweed from the Westerns... She is yelling to catch it, my brother and I are chasing it, and my brother makes a mad dash stomp on it.. She grabs it and slaps it on her head and we all run to the terminal counter to get checked in. I "Know" the ticket agent was looking at her like- What the heck??? My poor mothers wig was no longer "in"... It was a big hot mess..Half smashed in with a dusty shoeprint on the side from where my brother autographed it, and then to make it even worse it was on backwards.... What a day I tell ya....

    ciao
