My favorite breakfast option on a Viking cruise... breakfast on the Aquavit Terrace overlooking the port of the day.
This particular photo was in the Cabo San Lucas, Mexico... our first port of call after leaving Los Angeles on the 21/22 World Cruise. The breakfast itself consisted of a waffle with some side dishes of bacon, sausage and some potato wedges accompanied by fresh orange juice. Not necessarily anything special compared to other breakfasts I enjoyed during the trip, but it was the ambiance and atmosphere that made it so memorable. Maybe I'll post some of my breakfast food photos to whet our appetites.
Yes please…

Are the king size beds on Viking ocean ships made up of 2 twin size mattresses pushed together? We are hoping for a king size mattress with no gaps to roll into.

WOW, first cruise and you are sailing for 117 days! So excited for you. What an adventure you will have, please stop in on this forum and share your experiences .
Actually, the cruise starts in 117 days but it is the world cruise, so it is 137 days long from Ft Lauderdale to London. So many new places for us to see! We are very much looking forward to it!

Hubby’s drink of choice is gin & bitter lemon. Do they offer bitter lemon - either Schweppes or Fever Tree? He prefers Schweppes but we can’t find it in the US for years now.

We are currently in 6082 directly under the World Cafe. Happy to report there has been no noise whatsoever.
Good to know! 6082 will be our stateroom on the Neptune in December. Thank you!

MVJ was updated for us and our cruise is in December! Newest change that I saw was that VeriFly is no longer required for Ocean cruises. It was already discontinued for River cruises. I expect it to change again, one way or the other.

Very few programs on the Neptune offer closed captioning.
We do not have hearing problems and the voice sound track at max volume (37 on our tv) is too low to hear dialogue on any movie or tv show unless you sit max 3feet from the TV. We didn’t come on a cruise to watch TV, which is good because most tv shows are unwatchable.
They also record a ‘Viking daily talk’ every day by the cruise director and he often interviews a crew member, but unfortunately we can never hear the crew member's comments. The tech crew in the Star Theatre is very good, however it’s amazing that 85 days into ONE cruise, no one on this ship has managed to notice and fix the volume on stateroom TV’s.
The stateroom TVs are most useful for watching and listening to the port talks & the lectures, where the volume levels work just fine.
