Taking a stab at it here...is Gigi the giraffe? Have been on Anthem 3 times but never heard her called Gigi. Makes sense, I guess.

We are also on this cruise in a balcony. Had a bid in on a Junior Suite and cancelled it for the same reason as stated above. If I choose to cancel, bad enough to lose the fare I already paid. Don’t want to lose the bid on top of it if we decide not to go.

We were in a JS and friends were in a GS on Anthem in November We ate dinner together in CK. My friend was told by someone (may have been a concierge; not sure which ship or when) that we may be able to join them for breakfast or lunch in CK. The maitre' d at CK would not allow it.

I wonder if you could ask for salsa at breakfast. I must investigate this.
I did ask on Anthem. No go. But I will ask again in 4 weeks.

Sadly, not at breakfast. I like it with my scrambled eggs.

I have always understood that Diamond onboard discount is 20%. Have not sailed yet as Diamond, but next cruise will be Diamond.

No brainer. Upgrade.

OP, thanks for asking this question. I am in the same situation. Have not been tolerating alcohol well lately, and just a week ago was prescribed new medication that cannot be used with alcohol. My husband, in the other hand, gets his money’s worth out of his beverage package. Not sure what to do. This will be our first cruise as Diamond, so I know we can get drinks in the early evening on our card or in the Diamond Lounge. No more than 2 a day for me. Figure I can v
bring a bottle of wine on board with me. No big deal if I don’t drink it. Still better than buying a beverage package. But DH will not be happy without the package. 😞

No, no longer casino rate if doing a trade-in value on your certificate because you do not want to do one of the sailings listed on the certificate. It is whatever the current rate is, minus your trade in. They stopped doing casino rates, I think last March, or maybe even before then.
Exactly. They didn't used to "reprice" cruises that you have already booked, but now they do. Made our certificates worth $14 when we tried to use them toward a cruise we already had booked.

I had no idea they left the ship, it would have been fun to see them in 270. We thought about leaving the ship too but since it was our first time we ended up just walking around exploring the ship. Thanks for commenting, glad to hear from others who were also on this cruise. I was in the FB group as well but it got negative pretty quickly (understandably).
Yes, I was also in the FB group. I do feel bad for those with children, those who traveled a long distance, etc. While we were disappointed that things turned out the way they did, on the other hand, it was better than being at work! 😉

Tom, this was my third time on Anthem. We love the ship and generally don't care about the itinerary, but I think I've seen enough of Bayonne at this point. We actually got off the ship on Sunday and brought most of our warm weather clothes home and grabbed some more cool weather ones. As for Wanted, it was too bad they had to get off the ship on Monday before we left for Cocoa Cay. They would have given a performance in 270 later in the week, which is kinda like being at a concert. They were fantastic in The Music Hall, but I like 270 better for that type of entertainment. Will be sailing Anthem again in March, sadly, not in a JS as they were all taken when we booked. Looking forward to the rest of your review!

I recall there being a free penny pressing into token machine when we were last on Anthem
in April of last year. It was in the entrance area of the American Icon restaurant. All one had to do was to provide the pennies and sometimes there was a box with free pennies on top.
Still there as of mid November.

Okay...enough with the pictures. You're killing me! :;)

Thanks for they reply. And I think I misquoted the length of time you need to book within, which is 30 days after earning and receiving the certificate.

Does this famed roast beef sandwich come with au jus?
There is a gravy. Not sure I would call it au jus, as it is thicker than au jus. Also available is horseradish sauce and mustard. Was quite surprised at how many people asked for mustard...definitely not what I would put on roast beef, but to each his own!

Another vote for Cafe 270.

Jut spoke with Club Royale about our booked JS on Anthem in November. The rep said that all JS have the separated bathrooms (which we really liked) and that they don't really categorize them as "spa" JS anymore. I asked what made a JS a "spa" JS and she said basically it is a bit of a different décor and different bath amenities.

Please forgive me if this has been discussed previously. My husband and I have, in the past, earned certificates to be used to reduce our cruise fare. We will never earn enough points for a free cruise. The last 2 years, we simply had to apply the certificate within 2 weeks of earning it. This past cruise, we earned $100 each and called Club Royale a few days after returning to apply the certificates to a cruise we had booked onboard. Club Royale, for the first time, claimed they had to "reprice" the cruise (for the date I called) in order for us to use the certificate. Needless to say, both cruises we booked onboard were now $186 more (literally 5 days later). That made the certificates useless, as we would be saving a total of $14. I would like to know when they started doing this? Has anyone else had this experience? I wrote to Club Royale, and their response was a bunch of corporate BS.

We are very experienced cruisers having cruised on various lines including RCL. We are considering a cruise on the Anthem. However- I’m concerned because of all the negative and many downright horrible reviews including bed bugs!!
We would appreciate hearing from past cruisers on the Anthem with your honest opinions before we book!
Thank you and happy cruising!
I just got off Anthem this past Saturday. It was my third time on her and I am totally annoyed that she is leaving to go "across the pond" for the summer. Best. Ship. Ever.

We just received them in a JS on Anthem. I was not expecting them. A friend who cruises often tells me you just bring them with you on your next cruise and they will take them and give new ones back to you that are programmed for your current cruise.

We were in a Grand Suite on Anthem and received $13.78 each for the missed port fees. I agree; it makes no sense how the amount was calculated but getting anyone to explain it wasn’t possible.
Our friends were in a Grand Suite on Anthem and got the $24 and change each in refunded port charges. They had this November 16th date booked at least a year in advance, although I am not certain the original booking was in a Grand Suite. They may have upgraded at some point.

I believe both ships were to be in the same ports together, which were Port Canaveral, Nassau, and CoCoCay, although I don't remember which was supposed to be first- Nassau or CoCoCay. The only difference, I believe, is that Anthem was coming from Cape Liberty and Grandeur was coming from Baltimore.

CruiseKeeper, we were in a Junior suite and we both received $13.78 as credit on our account. I don't understand why some people got the port refund (in whatever amount) and also a $50 OBC. Makes no sense.

Just got off Anthem. We were offered 40% off the price of $54.99 and made reservations. The menu showed up on the Royal app, and we wound up canceling. It was the exact menu that has been posted in this thread and was to be at Wonderland. Also supposed to include a tour of some on the kitchens-I believe he mentioned Izumi. Just didn't sound like anything we wanted badly enough, even at the reduced price. I explained when we canceled that we had been looking forward to it, but were not happy with the menu.
I cancelled our RCCL cruise prior to Coronavirus cancellation.

Doesn't matter if you know the rules. We did, and it didn't help. I knew there was the possibility that RCCL could cancel all cruises. Had my husband call 2 days before they canceled. When the representative he spoke with (I was working at the time) quoted him an FCC amount that didn't add up to what we thought we were entitled to, he told the rep NOT to cancel, and said his wife would call back to cancel. I planned on calling on Saturday and was kinda glad we didn't cancel as it was starting to look more and more likely that RCCL would cancel all cruises. I discovered that he canceled us when our cruise was no longer listed in our account on RCCL's website and I saw that our room was listed as available to book.
