Just returned -- we did a 2 hour Ketchikan kayak tour with Southeast Sea Kayaks. Highly recommend! Was just enough time to kayak through Creek Street and to surrounding islands to see some sea life, we were tired but not exhausted. Dock is right next to Alaska Fish house where we had a delicious lunch. Also, Lumberjack show is right there as well. If we didn't want to shop we would have thrown that into our day as well.

I heard back from Chilkoot tours regarding my excursion on July 10 (Yukon bus and rail). They are allotted a block of seats on each Fraser and Bennett train. Phew! I was really looking forward to the train — glad to know we are ok.

You may want to consider checking them out if having a hard time getting train tixs.

I am booked with Chikoot tours on Tuesday July 10th for the Yukon bus and rail tour. I see now though on the White Pass site that all Tues. are unavailable. I have emailed Chikoot to confirm my train portion. Our ship still has these excursions available, but I really liked the tour Chikoot offered. I will post an update once I hear back.
