This is GREAT news-thank you Jelayne!

Anyone know if, after all the cuts, Celebrity is still providing bathrobes to all guests to use while on board?

Searched Cruise Critic and did not see anyone who has used this company-anyone ever use them? Great reviews on Trip Advisor! Quick email replies. Was thinking of booking them for a day tour to Wicklow/Glendalough/Kilkenny when we dock there for an overnight on our return to Dublin. Will have done 5 days pre-cruise in Dublin. Also booking them for hotel to port. Thanks in advance for any tips!

Definitely do the DEADLIEST CATCH tour-do it on your own if you have to-one of the best tours our family has taken in 15 years of cruising-great for all ages! Our four grown sons still are talking about what a great time they had when we took this tour 10 years ago! You definitely won't regret it!

Trying to decide on our Victoria excursions-anyone else ever dock in Victoria at 5:30 PM the last night of their cruise (7/27/18 Celebrity Solstice cruise). I was wondering what it's like going on an excursion on the last night/missing dinner etc. We have narrowed it down to either the 3 1/2 hour Enchanting Butchart Gardens tour or the 4 1/4 hour Craigdarroch Castle and Butchart Garden.

Thanks to those of you who conveyed their "get healthy" wishes! They are much appreciated. I apologize to those of you who feel I was "misleading"! Here is an update and answer to the various questions. In our cabin only me not my DH came down with Norovirus. Yes, I was officially diagnosed by the ship doctor with Norovirus. Yes, we had a yellow dot on our door. Our luggage for departure was even separated from everyone else's to avoid contamination. I came down with the symptoms Friday on our Cozumel ship sponsored excursion. I have been very sick (trust me you do NOT want those details). I saw the ship doctor on Friday, Saturday, and today (Sunday). On Friday, I received a shot and several anti-diarrhea and anti-vomiting prescriptions in addition to Tylenol for the fever. Blood work was done and stool samples were taken. Unfortunately, I was much worse yesterday (Saturday) and they took me back down to the "infirmary" for IV's for hydration, potassium, and stronger antiemetic medications via the IV's in addition to another shot and more labs. I was NOT the only person down there being treated for Norovirus. RCCL did a great job of taking care of me and for that I am thankful! I am currently in a wheelchair at the airport awaiting our flight's departure taking the meds given to me by the ship doctor this morning for our trip home.

Unfortunately I am the source of this information since I now have it! Did you see this in today's CRUISE COMPASS under important things to know?
"Helpful health information: talks about whatever and then says such as NOROVIRUS and then goes into detail on the symptoms and to feel free to call the medical staff for a complimentary consultation and treatment!"
Unfortunately I missed out on a great day in Cozumel!
-
No - wouldn't you have a better idea than us since you are on board?
No because I am stuck in my room sick as a dog and the ship staff/guest relations is refusing to give us any information! I assume it has not yet reached the number they have to report to the CDC and they are therefore trying to keep it quiet!

The much dreaded NOROVIRUS!

Anyone have any idea how many people are affected?

Yikes! Yes it is GV Tours - thanks for the insurance information - something else for me to worry about! What ended up happening with regards to your accommodations? Sounds awful!

For those of you who have been to Puerto Montt do you recommend a stop in Frutillar? The tour we are looking also includes Puerto Montt, Puerto Varas, Lake L, views of the Osorno volcano if it is not too cloudy, the possibility of a stop at Emerald Lake depending on road conditions, lunch, Vicente Perez National Park, and the Petrohue Rapids. Frutillar sounds great to me but another tour operator I am considering is trying to talk me out of it saying it's not worth it.

Free wi-fi between stops sounds great-please share-which port and which tour company?

Anyone know if Celebrity will cash Traveler's Checks? It seems that all the private tour operators in South America want to be paid with American dollars; that's a lot of cash to be carrying around!

There is supposedly a great guy named Edgardo who does wonderful tours-I don't think I am allowed to post his email address or website but with some hunting you should find it no problem. A lot of peopel are using him on our Roll Call! Good luck!

Thanks to you 4774Papa we are all set for our four nights pre-cruise at Casa-Jasmin. Rachel is beyond amazing-a true delight!
Thank you very much again 4774Papa for your awesome review!

The tango shows are apparently super expensive on New Year's Eve EVERYWHERE! We will make sure and have Rachel set it up for us-thank you for your wonderful posts!

Thank you J-D and 4774Papa!
I had already previously read your great recap 4774Papa and was intrigued with your B&B along with all the other great things you did in BA.
I like the idea of spending four nights in BA but doing so would have us flying in on New Year's Eve around 7 PM. Unfortunately according to some other websites transportation is a big challenge that day/night (apparently the buses and taxis "disappear"). It also appears that BA turns into a "ghost town" on New Year's Day. The Recoleta Cemetery looks like it will be open but the Evita Museum is closed. Suggestions for New Year's Day have been limited to the Chinese Quarter and parks (most restaurants and stores are closed as well supposedly). I would like to make sure we have something to do on New Year's Day so that may be the reason we only do three nights and arrive the evening of New Year's Day. Apparently there are some awesome Tango Shows on New Year's Eve but they run about $500 per person.
As you can see I am still deciding.............................................

If we decide not to fly to Iguaza Falls how long do you recommend we spend in BA pre-cruise?
-
On Friday night when I was speaking to Celebrity they told me it would take 3 to 5 business days for my drink package perk to show up - Monday is a holiday so theoretically she advised me it could take until September 8th.

Does anyone know if they are the traditional fold out sofa beds with uncomfortable springs (that hopefully an egg crate will help) or the pull out more comfortable trundle version ones? All Celebrity could tell me was that the one in our cabin 7078 is twin size. I did a search but all the threads I found were before the renovation. My brother-in-law recently passed away and we are strongly considering having my sister join us so she does not have to be in a cabin all by herself. Final payment is not due for another 6 1/2 weeks; Celebrity says there is no problem cancelling her reservation and adding her to ours!

Our cruise departs January 3rd-I neglected to arrange airfare and am now scrambling-talk about paying the price! We are flying in from Los Angeles and after spending a day recovering from air travel (17-20 hours and losing a day plus) would like to enjoy the highlights of Auckland-will anything be open on New Year's Day? We are trying to decide which day to schedule our arrival. Thanks in advance for your advice!

Awesome review-you are an incredible writer-keep it coming-beautiful family as well!
Rhine River Cruise Souvenirs
in River Cruising
Posted
Sailing on the Rhine from Basel to Amsterdam with two days before in Lucerne and two days after in Amsterdam (all through Viking). First river cruise-avid ocean cruisers. I am trying to figure out how much room to leave in our suitcases for souvenirs. We are planning on purchasing a cuckoo clock and having it shipped back from the Black Forest. Our stops are: Cologne, Koblenz, Rudesheim, Speyer, Strasbourg, Kinderdijk, and Breisach. What types of other "must-have quality" souvenirs do people typically bring back from a Rhine River Cruise? Given this stage in our lives I am more of a minimalist-don't need to accumulate more stuff-would rather spend our $ on experiences. I am trying to decide if both of us should check a bag or check one between the two of us. The one between the two of us is currently 3/4 full-it's the maximum size allowed. Should I bring a second checked bag the next size down which would basically start the trip empty? Yikes-we leave for the airport in 15 hours-thanks in advance for your input.
